Lovely atmosphere. Very nice old school background music. Were informed by the staff about food delay, in the end food arrived faster than we expected.
Nice design, everything is clean and tidy.
Ladies room had some necessary ladies things too.
Would highly recommend.
We called in for lunch yesterday and the food was amazing! I had the cod, prawn, lemongrass and coconut fishcakes and hubby had the slow cooked smoked brisket. Both were excellent and cooked to perfection

I travelled a lot by now and never found a place like this. Variety of Toiletries all free of charge. Nice to see this as I haven't see even in a 5 star hotel. Thank you for this. Great atmosphere also. We haven't eat yet as the kitchen was closed at that hour but definitely will be back.
Excellent food, staff service and reasonably priced as well
We were working in the area and called in as I’d looked at reviews and they’d seemed good! The food was absolutely beautiful with really good portion sizes! I had 8oz steak and my colleague had the garlic chicken breast! Both were really well cooked and presented. Will be going again tomorrow

Heard that The White Lion at Llanclys cross had been taken over by a new landlord and did a complete revamp to it.
Popped over to see for myself if it lived up to all it's good reviews and, it certainly is true and looks fantastic. What an amazing transformation from the 8 years or so ago that I last popped in!
Peggy and Owen the staff were very friendly, welcoming and made me feel totally at home. The inside decorations are warm, modern and relaxed and the outdoors seating area and new BBQ oven looks great, wow!
Met Steve the new proprietor and landlord and his smiling personality and friendly character was a delight to experience.
I decided to have a light snack and ordered their Sausage with Red onions Baguette which came with homemade chips.
The freshness of my baguette, sausages, red onions and chips were delicious, chips exactly how they should be, crispy chips..no saggy bottoms here!
My pint of Station pale bitter cask ale from the local Stonehouse Brewery in Weston was perfectly kept, perfectly chilled and served in a proper "handle/jug/pimples&dimples" pint glass, yes!
A big thank you and shout out to you all for such a great lunch, great pint and a most enjoyable experience on my return to here!!

The White Lion is one of those gem of a pub that are now so hard to find. With its friendly atmosphere and superbly cooked food it ticks all the boxes for a amazing evening out. A special thanks to the chef who cooked my steak to perfection
Stopped off for lunch and enjoyed a delicious meal. We would highly recommend and will definitely return. Staff were great and they made our dog welcome too.
First visit to this establishment and first impression we had, was that it is a friendly and popular venue.
The meal was very good, none of the party of four had any complaints regarding the standard of food presentation, the timely delivery and with all meals really hot.
The staff are very polite and helpful, so an enjoyable time was had by all of us.
Looking forward to a return visit sometime in the future.
PS. The dishes I'd recommend would be the gammon steak it was the best I've had for a long time.
We walked up from the canal all hot and tired, and we're so glad we had made the effort! The food was great,, the beer really hit the spot, and the staff were so helpful and lovely. And there are donkeys to stroke! Amazing pub, would definitely come back next time we boat the Montgomery
Lovely friendly atmosphere. Made to feel very welcome. Sunday lunch was good and excellent draught beer. Excellent value for money. Lovely, smiling staff.
Pleasantly surprised. The decor and atmosphere was top notch, really nicely fitted out. The food was great too, lots of nite at a good price. We don't live locally, so sadly won't be able to go back any time soon.

Went for a Sunday dinner today which we booked! Food was amazing and so was the pudding! Staff were amazing even though it was as very hot and muggy. The toilets were spotless and all the stuff they have supplied in the toilets were amazing ideal to freshen yourself up when it's really hot!
Visited here by chance last Sunday after passing by on our way home, cannot praise this little gem of a pub enough! The staff were lovely and very friendly, the toilets were spotless and supplied everything a lady would need right down to hair clips and bobbles! The interior of the pub was equally the same! Let's talk about the food! 👌 both myself and my partner decided to have the chicken in leek and Stilton sauce, to say it was delicious is an understatement, the whole meal was gorgeous and plenty of it! The chips were the nicest I've had in a while although I couldn't finish them due to the size of the chicken which I didn't want to leave! What a cracking little pub with lovely staff! I live in wrexham but will definitely call again! 👍😊
My friend and I stop for a quick snack on our way to Hen party and decided the have a proper meal once we saw the menu we could not help ourselves by ordering amazing food. My friend had a burger and I had a Thai green curry. The portion were big and most enjoyable. We told everyone at the Hen party how good the food is.
Driving from snowdonia to England was a long journey without any services in between. The white lion is a life saver for me when I need the loo the most. We had lunch there, the slow cooked feather blade beef was so good.
