The Queens Head - Oswestry - Photo album

40+ years ago I used to pass this pub in my mate's dad's MK1 Granada on our way to North Wales. Finally made it inside. Glad we did. Lovely sandwiches. Go for the crab or the club... Hopefully I'll be on the A5 again in the next 40 years 🤞
We went to lunch - the pub is lovely and in a beautiful position (afterwards we walked along the canal, and saw a family of ducks at the nearby nature reserve). I had fish and chips, it did taste good, but the fish was maybe a little too greasy - the batter had really absorbed the oil. The portion
Popped in for an evening meal whilst staying in the area for a wedding. Great menu and range of specials. Staff were welcoming and friendly and we went for garlic bread & calamari plus haloumi salad and their LEGENDARY Paella 🥘.. Food was excellent and we left with full bellies and a bag of ice cour
This was our third visit. The food is absolutely excellent. I had salmon in a lovely sauce with prawns, the best I've ever had and the other 3 meals were also excellent. I would highly recommend.
I had a delicious glass of red wine and the most amazing pizza pescatore which had smoked salmon prawns and anchovies. It was wonderful. The staff were really friendly and very efficient. I'd recommend this pub to anyone passing on a boat.
Lovely friendly pub and restaurant. The staff were very attentive and efficient. The food was delicious and there was plenty of it . I had a chicken and mushroom dish from the specials board , it came with well cooked veg and a choice of potato. I highly recommend this pub/ restaurant.
Very accommodating staff. We arrived by Narrowboat without booking and the landlady went to great effort to fit us in. We had a cracking Sunday dinner. I had the Pork that melted in the mouth and the cracking was just perfect. Lots of vegetables. Good beer too. We will certainly call again. Many
Called in without a reservation as we were in Queens Head at lunchtime today, and were luckily able to get a table as they were well booked. The Sunday lunches (one beef, one pork) were first-class, and reasonably priced! I have no doubt we'll return, but will book next time. Recommended.
Station Bitter and a great selection of food. What's not to like? Handy for a pleasant walk along the Montgomery Canal too. Ideal spot to rest over with your canal boat. Great eats and drinks...
I really liked the food here, good menu and very reasonably priced. Staff are very friendly and well organised. Looking forward to going back.
