Quality service from the new owners from whitebull down the road. Cállum and staff very welcoming. Had the ribs for starter and a steak for mains . Fantastic and will return. Be mindful this has been took over again so disregard any reviews from before april 2023. If its there one thing I wish this place has done is to level the beer garden out on the carpark with maybe deckin etc as its too slanted JJ

My meal of steak, that was perfectly cooked and seasoned followed by ice cream sundae was 5 stars. Wife's pot pie was very good but the sticky toffee pudding appeared to have been dried out so was tough. Advertised log burner was lovely looking but not lit and the room was a little chilly. I have visited the Britannia a number of times over the last couple of decades and notwithstanding the above slight issues this was the best it has been. All in all good value.

A very nice clean and tidy eatery with a warming and pleasant atmosphere. The meal choices are somewhat limited however there is enough to satisfy most and the quality is a high standard. Drinks are a bit pricey 😕 £8 for a large wine but that does seem to be the case nowadays. There is a choice of two children's menu's that are age related so your cherubs are well catered for. Well worth a visit and yes we shall return.

Great place to call in for after-work drinks on a Friday. Sampled the new food menu in August and whilst a tad pricey (for me) it clearly reflected the fresh ingredients, creative menu and high-quality food that was served. Minor issues with cleanliness of cutlery (water stains most likely) were resolved immediately and friendly service was provided. Looking forward to more meals here.

We were looking for somewhere dog friendly and i read the bar area was, so we thought we would give it a go. Its only a small bar area but loads of space outside if its nice. The staff where great, gave us treat and water for the Dogs and the dogs lots of attention. Very Dog friendly. Food was very good but it was a little expensive for a midweek afternoon meal but would try again for maybe an evening out.

I used to come here regularly, not been since it's been taken over. Enjoyed a nice meal of salmon followed by cheesecake and a coffee. The place is very inviting, love the log-burning fires, lovely in winter. Will definitely be returning soon.

Delicious Roast Beef Sunday lunch today. One of the nicest roasts I've eaten. The twice cooked beef melted in the mouth, the roast potatoes were crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside. Great selection of vegetables and the Yorkshire pudding was amazing. I can throughly recommend and it's going to become one of our regular places to eat. My daughter had a steak which was cooked perfectly medium and her hand cut chips were crispy on the outside fluffy on the inside. *****

Oh lordy the steak here is so good. My ribeye was cooked to perfection. They have a charcoal grill here and special fridges to dry age the meat. The sides were a perfect accompaniment to the steak. The staff were extremely efficient, friendly and attentive. Table service with a bar. Great atmosphere. The toilets were immaculate. A good sign of an owner who cares about their establishment and their customers. My only issue is that they are too far from my house.

the britannia is a lovely place to go for food and drinks. me and my partner went on the off chance and im glad we did. The food is excellent we was sat in a quiet little corner near the kitchen the staff were pleasant and the food comes quickly and cooked. it's a little pricey for pub food but this isn't your average pub food. but I didn't mind as its really good quality and well presented. would definitely go back here. its the 3rd time now but always gets better. last time was when pubs reopened for outdoor dining in 2021 the britannia only had a limited menu then but service and quality was still there. glad we went back like I said its only gotten better for us. they accept dogs indoors too. all in all I would recommend the britannia full and a happy service. we'll done to all the staff at the britannia. 10/10.

Called in by chance on Saturday midafternoon the place was not busy ( good for me).We ordered fish pie chips and I think samphire and battered hake chips and peas, both meals very nice,if a tad pricy. The meals arrived promptly with excellent service from the lady (whose name i don't recall).Overall a nice experience. Thanks

First visit since new owners took over. Place looks good. Excellent food, 'everything' was delicious. No room for puddings. Staff are friendly too. We will be back.

The steak was very good. But for £20 you would think that it would come with chips and some veg. But was surprised they where all at an extra cost. Which made the steak about nearly £30.What a pity. Will not be going back anytime soon.

Very pleasant lunch, varied menu. Was a bit cold when we arrived but once the real fire took hold it was cosy.

Called after a fell race for a few drinks. A good selection of beers and lagers were available and despite being busy with runners and supporters, the service was first class from helpful and friendly staff. Will certainly re-visit, possibly for some food.
