One of the best experiences I have had in a long time .What a gem this place is its cozy the staff are extremely well coming friendly and helpful .

I went here in a group of 5. The food was sensational. I had the Swordfish starter which was absolutely beautiful! Cooked to perfection. I continued with fish to the main course and enjoyed a lovely pub classic of fish and chunky chips, what a delight that was! I adored the chips.

What a Christmas dinner! First year in a long time we decided to treat ourselves to a Christmas day off. Five of us headed to The Carpenter's Arms aka Bar 42 and settled into some cocktails while we waited for our table.
Half an hour later we headed upstairs and sat down to a beautifully laid table
Really gone downhill over the years. Food used to be decent but today was the final straw. Wife ordered a club sandwich and this was it. They did bring her another but that's not the point, shouldn't have to complain, should be right in the first place. Chef should be ashamed. Had better sandwiches

Great spot for some drinks inside or out, but would recommend trying the menu at least once. The food is a good balance of traditional and modern.
Arrived Sunday afternoon without booking accommodated us were very attentive,had Sunday lunch was beautiful nice stuffing.Also ordered the sharing platter was plentiful and really nice.very nice cocktail and good menu.The toilets were very nice and clean.daughter had the sundae was delish! 😁
It was our first ever visit to this restaurant and I’ve seen some negative reviews on here, but let me tell you honestly it was without fault, the food was delicious and the service as excellent! We’ll have no qualms about dining here again, well done!
Very nice Sunday dinner. Yorkshires were a little dry for our tastes but everything else was very nice. Attentive and polite staff. Very nice decor and atmosphere. We shall definitely return at some point soon

Extremely accommodating for any dietary requirements as everything is fresh, locally sourced products. Wife is gluten free and pretty much everything on menu is fine for her due to been freshly prepared.

Gluten free! Amazing from start to finish. Waiter knew what he was talking about, even got me gluten free cheesecake for today when I visited for the 3rd time since the new chef took over. Fresh food cooked on the day! Made tonorder and can cater anything gluten free except pasta!
