Walked in on a Tuesday night and were lucky to get a table as it was quite busy. We ordered a variety of seafood and vegetarian dishes, and the choice was pretty broad - the food was good, although not spectacular as some other reviews suggest. The service is lightening quick without being overbearing, although one of hostesses grunted a lot!
Overall a bit of a hidden gem and we will certainly be visiting again.
Superb. Xian is an oasis in Orpington's mediocre restaurant scene. Since moving here 2 years ago it has become our absolute favourite local place to eat. The food never disappoints, and we are always trying new things, so we have sampled quite a bit of the excellent menu. It's always buzzing, so a great Friday-night atmosphere all week. Great for couples and groups alike, and we often see families with children and grandparents dining together. Booking essential for later in the week and weekends, but you can get lucky walking in off the street on occasion. You can keep your bill very reasonable here or indulge in a total blowout. Excellent service, and a very sociable front of house.

I have been going to this restaurant for many years and I have always recieved excelent service and superb food.
Came for my birthday dinner - absolutely fantastic. Highly recommend booking in advance as it gets very busy, we tried to do a walk in a few weeks back and were unsuccessful

The best Chinese in Bromley and Orpington! A wonderful meal for my husbands birthday! Staff are fantastic, they go above and beyond for customers and are excellent with children! Food is great quality and reasonably priced! We was let down by a Chinese restaurant we use regularly and phoned xians to see if they could fit us in, straight away they said yes and the table was ready when we arrived 15 minutes later! Thank you very much!

I loved this place. The food is above and beyond. Pure quality. All very fresh and the staff were so friendly. Me and my wife went in on a Friday lunch time. We had the restaurant to our selves. The place is small enough to be exclusive and not too big to seat too many people. The air-conditioning was set perfect which in the heat wave was wonderful. The quality of the food was amazing as it was just the 2 of us. I will be back time and time again. It really is a small and perfect diamond of a place. Well done don't change anything.
Eat lunch here quite regularly and have never had a bad experience. The quality and choice of menu is superb, the staff are very friendly and welcoming and efficient. Altogether, an absolute gem.

I am vegetarian and there are plenty of delicious dishes to chose from. My favourites are the beancurd in black bean sauce - and the green onion cake is incredible!!
I sometimes dine in which is a great experience, and sometimes collect food. It is always ready around 15 minutes after I place the order - nice and fast, and boiling hot.
The food feels like it is prepared with a lot of care and skill. That is why I keep coming back time after time.

Quite simply the best Chinese restaurant. Great good with amazing service. Gary Rhodes also loved this place and once came here 30+ times in one year.
Second time here over the years...Good food, lovely atmosphere but a tad to cramped when the restaurant is at full capacity, apart from that tasty food, will definitely!
The food was amazing. Highly recommend the peppered prawns over the szechuan prawns. The food arrived really quickly after the order was taken. The staff are attentive and the atmosphere is good. Its a great place for couples and takes up to 8 people.
The food quality at Xian continues to draw us back. It was good to see a full restaurant testifying to others' agreement. Service good except when trying to get the bill. Generally the foibles of our group were catered for cheerfully. A good muscadet complemented chicken in three different guises and sweet and sour pork. Duck as a starter. Three course would have been too much for us.
Very good food and plenty of it. Server informed us if there was any anything in products that would have items, or be unsuitable for persons with allergies.
