Absolutely superb meal here with the freshest of seafood.
The oysters served from the restaurants own oysterage were especially just fantastic.
The restaurant has a quaint charm about it and the service was friendly and attentive.
We have a range of starters and mains including white bait, mackerel pate on toast, oysters, grilled muscles.
The puddings were brilliant, too. Sticky toffee pudding (not featured in the pictures) and treacle tart
This fish restaurant is in a great location. Looking out onto the High Street. Service was quick, and the team was very responsive to our initial mix-up on arrival. Tables are close together, but this all adds to the great atmosphere. Large menu including oysters, eel, crab, grilled dover sole, skate and sea bass with additional special courses. Everyone at our table enjoyed their meals, especially the fish cakes and lobster. However, everything was a bit brown in terms of presentation. Expect to spend £60-£70 per head with drinks and 12.5% service charge.
We had such a lovely lunch and are so glad we made the trip to Orford to eat here! We hadn’t booked but the lady at the front desk was so kind and found us a table for an hour’s time, which turned out to be ready sooner which was great. The service was fantastic, the food was really wonderful and I can’t wait to come back and try more from the menu soon. Thank you!
Outstanding and always delivers superior quality dishes and customer service. Been going there for many years and enjoyed it each and every time.
Specialising in fish and seafood dishes, the freshness is top and equally is the taste.
Make sure to make a booking if you are in the area.
The food was really delicious in a bright, understated setting. Crab cakes were unforgettable as was the lobster. No words are adequate for the luscious chocolate-almond torte with amaretto cream. The server did an incredible job despite being alone in her very full section. Tiny thing: didn't love the salad, a bit gritty and uninspired. Would love to return!
We had our eyes on this little restaurant for quite a while, as we wanted some fresh seafood. And we sure weren't disappointed! The staff was friendly and welcoming and the food was filling and truly worth the price. Also, the biggest suprise was the size of the rum cake, one big slice perfect for two. We will be visiting again!
Great place to go to for an amazing fish experience. Oysters are incredibly fresh and delicious. Fish is beautifully cooked, is full of flavour and melts in your mouth.
Service is on point.
Amazing food, service, and very welcoming staff.
Just what we needed on our travels, we didn't book ahead, although preferred we were seated right away.
Highly recommended!
Excellent, lovely vibe, quite rustic and casual with great quality seafood simply cooked.
Lovely fish and seafood restaurant based in Orford. Really good fresh produce used, served with a smile. Decor could do with a bit of brightening up but the food more than compensates for that.
One of the best worst kept secrets in Suffolk and some of the best seafood this side of the med. A reconfigured layout for lockdown actually improves the experience space-wise in this delightful relaxed café-restaurant. Staff are wonderful and now they even have time for a chat. Make sure you book.

AMAZING food as always! This is one of my all time favourite restaurants, and one of the main reasons we come to Orford. I love the retro vibe and the beautiful mix of seafood. It is a must for any seafood lover! Also staff are extremely friendly and kind.
Excellent restaurant. Best seafood we’ve had in a very long time. Very authentic setting and great staff and wine choices to go with the food. Highly recommend.
Best Skate Wing I have ever tasted and served as requested without the Capers. Amazing. Can't big it up enough.
We thoroughly enjoyed ourcdinner here. We took the 8.00pm booking so no-one would come after us. Our meal was very relaxed andcthexstaff very helpful.
Came here once when I was 8, went back earlier this month 14 years later and it did not disappoint. Fantastic, fresh seafood and great value as well
Delicious smoked trout and potted shrimp, followed by an excellent treacle tart. Great service, happily toasted the bread for us. Will hopefully be back soon.
Reassuringly expensive, but they do know how to prepare and cook fish. Drinks are sensibly priced too.
Go, you won't be disappointed.
Lovely fish restaurant. Lots of choice including specials. Great puddings too. Friendly and efficient service. Quaint decor.
