Recently taken over by new management. Nothing wrong with the old management but the new people seem to be putting 100pc effort in. The staff are friendly. Lovely 15th century black and white timber-framed inn oozing with olde-world charm. Large lounge bar with comfortable seating, exposed beams and nooks and crannies.
Loved this. I'm biased as I love these old landmarks steeped in history; cozy, warm and welcoming.
Atmosphere is perfect.
Food was excellent. Beer selection was limited but that was purely because they had been so busy they had run out of a lot. Testament to what a great place it is.

The building is stunning (our Australian cousin and his partner loved it). There was a good selection on the menu. The staff were friendly, helpful and attentive - without being over the top. We didn’t feel rushed and we’re able to relax, chat and enjoy the evening

This lovely pub was recommended by locals we met in the park. Really friendly staff, lovely interiors - toasty warm in the winter and a great menu. Dogs welcome and they even made us some doggy sausages for the little fur ball too. We'll definitely be back.
The food was excellent. The service was first class and the prices were reasonable. We will definitely visit again in the future.
