We popped in today for lunch. Lovely place with stunning views. The food was amazing and generous portions. I loved the salad which contained fresh fruit, strawberries, melon and pineapple.
We also had desert. The carrot cake was simply delicious and my hubby had the Bakewell tart which he said was amazing.
The prices were really good too. They could not do enough for us. I would really recommend this place.
We spent a fabulous afternoon here celebrating a friend's baby shower enjoying one of the best afternoon teas ever . Fresh , delicious sandwiches with coleslaw and salad , scones to die for and fabulous homemade cakes . Shall definitely return thanks to the amazing food , friendly staff , lovely ambience . Thanks to you all x
We had afternoon tea here today for my Daughters 13th birthday, there was 8 of us and it was truly delicious!! I hadn't mentioned when I booked that it was for a birthday but once we mentioned it they then added a candle to the cakes we had and sang happy birthday it was a lovely and unexpected touch! I highly recommend this little tea shop!! Thank you so much for a lovely time.
Brilliant place , really enjoyed it , nice staff VERY clean , smashing food all fresh ! Will def go again , but best to book as it is very busy ! Thank you to all in tea room made a good afternoon out even better . x
It a beautiful tea room in a fantastic setting. Been going here for years.iI recommend to my guests when they stay at Acorn Cottage.
Had afternoon tea today with two of my friends. The staff were very friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. The food was divine, especially the ham sandwiches. Presentation was lovely. We are definitely going again soon. Loved it
Best Tea shop in the world. All homemade food. Amazing salads, quches, etc. Cream tea to die for. If youve never been you have missed a treat.
Been a few times i love it esp the lemon meringue pie !!!! Lovely friendly hard working staff !!! And very beautiful views !! Can't wait to go again xx
My wife and I only live down the road, but we are regulars at The Water Mill and have always been greeted with a smile. The food is great and the puddings are even better. We have learnt from experience - and always book in advance. We have taken friends here who have also now adopted it as their local tea shop. Will definitely be coming again soon.

Had a fantastic farewell brunch with my best friend yesterday! Great value and food was so yummy! Very fresh and yummy ingredients. Will definately go back again and again
This place is just awesome - since winning multiple awards you need to book BUT everything is just Soooooo fabulous! Home made quiche follwed by home made Lemon Meringue my favourite lunch. Great vibe and the most wonderful people working there - cannot rate it too highly
My favourite place for Afternoon Tea or in fact any light meal. Lovely people running it, all fresh produce used and great cooking. Do give it a try if you have not been yet.
We called in for coffee and tried the cheese scones They were so tasty Coffee was delicious too Staff were friendly Cafe itself was so nice xx
I can't comment on the cafe itself, unfortunately it was closed, but looked very inviting. The setting was amazing. I will definitely call in and sample their cuisine next I'm in the area
Unfortunately the cafe was closed while we were there, but if the outside is anything to go by it will be great inside. It would have been nice to see the water wheel working. We will return.
Tried to visit over Bank Holiday weekend, rang the bell on arrival which was next to a "cash only" sign. Five minutes later someone came downstairs and asked "had we booked" when we did no we were told "sorry we are booked all day".
Deliberately not lowering stars but posting to warn people to take cash and book in advance.
Just posting to warn people that the opening times online are not accurate - but don’t want to give a low star rating, as I did not get to enjoy the afternoon tea that I and my overseas visitors were looking forward to. According to Google, the tea shop opened today after Christmas, and we drove quite a long way to see the water mill and treat our visitors to afternoon tea. The shop was closed at 1.30 when we arrived, although according to Google, it was actually open. We were so disappointed
Truly wonderful, cosy little place with the most friendly staff! The lady here actually rescued us from being locked inside our hotel over the road. Naturally, we ordered a pot of tea, a variety of lush scones, soup and a quiche! All delicious and well priced. What a gem.
Had the most excellent afternoon tea sandwiches and cakes to die for and the scones so light and fresh best I've ever had and I've eaten a few.
Book early.
Visited today for Mums birthday and we had a great time. We had afternoon tea and it was so delicious! We had to take cakes home as there was so much! The staff are great and even put a candle in one of the cakes. All the food looked good. Brilliant😊
A delightful little place, booking ahead is a must, delicious food in generous portion sizes, and the most wonderful cakes for dessert!
Amazing afternoon tea! Unlimited tea and yummy cakes!
Booked a table in advance. The food was very nice and fresh. Service was good and friendly. There is a small free public car park across the road (behind red telephone box).
There are a set of stairs to get up to the tea room.
Well worth a visit as the home baked cakes and scones are outstanding. Please be aware this is a Mill dating from the 1700's so disabled access is limited, there is just one downstairs table. The cafe opens at 10.30 at that time you should get a table, at other time you will need to book. Great food, nice drinks and friendly staff.
Lovely food but remember to take cash as they don't take cards. Small place, would advise booking.
Lovely and quaint little tea room. The staff are friendly and helpful and with reasonable prices and some good food options to choose from it's worth a visit (pre-booking only at the moment).
The only downside I can see is that it's upstairs, and so for those who struggle with stairs, this may be an issue for you.
I would recommend a visit.
We go regularly , have sampled various things from the menu , all delicious .
Salads much more imaginative than other places and everything reasonably priced . Staff all lovely too , so friendly , nothing too much trouble .
Just a small upstairs room with space for about 30 customers, though tables close together. Very clean, excellent food though only light lunch options such as soup, salads, sandwiches. Afternoon teas looked very good, and lovely selection of cakes and desert. A glass of wine or beer is possible with a meal. Very good service and great value for money. Toilet is downstairs and outside, but very clean and well equipped. Booking advisable at lunch time. No parking, but free carpark across the road and on street. Payment cards not accepted.
Beautiful place , my daughter and I were there today and we enjoyed our afternoon tea.Staff were lovely too. We have been before and we would definitely recommend it. I will leave the added photos for my daughter to add when she gets back from holiday .
