We called in after a walk around the area on a Sunday Lunchtime. The pub has a lovely open fire, lots of original features, it was very clean and the food was well presented, hearty and filling. The staff were friendly and service was great.
We were really well looked after by all members of staff. All meals were exceptional - delicious to eat, choice, presentation and timing. The bed was very comfortable and our ensuite bedroom was exceptionally clean, cosey and private. The hotel was so very reasonably priced for bed, breakfast and evening meal.
Stayed here while doing the Pennine Way walk, and it was just what 2 weary travellers needed. Publicans Sue and Billy couldn’t do enough for us, cooked us a beautiful dinner and breakfast from local produce, beers were flowing and they helped with advice about the local area. Brilliant atmosphere and exactly how I envisioned a traditional English country pub, including an impromptu gathering of musicians playing Irish music! Thank you so much for looking after me and my Dad!! :-)
My family stayed at Airbnb up the road. We had meals in the restaurant and the food was great along with the people. The prices are fair for the quality of food given. Being on vacation from the states we were not sure of the welcome from a small community, turned out no worries everyone was so friendly. Absolutely will be back if staying in the area.
We stayed here while doing the Pennine Way. The room was spacious and spotlessly clean. Food and drink was all excellent and they gave us the best full english breakfast of the trip. The owners were lovely and friendly and even offered us a lift back up to the path in the morning which was awesome. If you are doing the Pennine Way, this is the place to stay.
We met incredibly kind and helpful people! Staying at the Diggle Hotel was a real pleasure! Always to happy to go there again!
This was a fantastic place to stay. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The owners are lovely and very helpful. The breakfast was fantastic. Lovely location, very quiet and beautiful scenery. Highly recommend.
Very friendly, super helpful owners we were made very welcome!
Proper pub cosy atmosphere, we didn't eat but food looked and smelt very good.
Great room for the night with very comfy bed 5* :)
Stopped in for a night whiles walking the Pennine way. Such a warm atmosphere in a proper pub delivered by proper people who went out their way to give us a great stay! Had a jolly old time sinking more delicious beers than we should of but soaked it up with some amazing food, the best steak pie on earth I’m sure! This place will not disappoint, only problem is it’s to far from my home to visit regularly 😅
Very pleasant Landlady, good ales well kept. Very clean and cosy. Enjoyed by lots of fell walkers. Well worth a visit. Didn't eat or stay here but talking to people who have it's very good and reasonably priced.
You won't find a warmer welcome than at The Diggle Hotel. Wonderful friendly team and the food was the best 'pub grub' I've ever had. Beautifully home cooked and very reasonably priced. Highly recommend this wonderful place whether you need a friendly pint, delicious food or a charming hotel.
When I visit its usually with a group and we are made very welcome and the staff are always obliging, plus the food and beer are good.
Good ale good food and a hidden gem especially when the sun is shining!!!
Stayed over in our campervan. Very friendly welcome.
Lovely food and picturesque location. Try the Rag pudding, it is top notch. Really enjoyed my visit here, the service was really good and friendly. Had a nice pint of cask ale and admired the surroundings. Lots of history and a lovely warm fire. The price of the food was reasonable as well, about £25 for two main meals and two pints. Honestly, the food was a lovely surprise. Good, homecooked comfort food, just what I was after. I will definitely be coming back here.
Owners and staff were all very friendly and helpful. We stayed whilst walking the Pennine Way (1.5m, from the route). Cask beer was in excellent condition, Timothy Taylors Landlord; Millstone from local brewer and J W Lee's. Affordable home cooked pub food done well. En suite room with comfortable bed, hot shower and tea making. Full English for breakfast and a lift back up the hill to the start.
Sunday lunch very nice. Sat outside in small beer garden and there is also a large gazebo with heaters most probably used in the evenings. Country pub out of the way next to train line. Nice canal walks nearby to walk off the food.
Excellent pub. Staff member was incredibly friendly and suggested other places to visit. Served quickly at my table and drink brought in good time. I didn't have to go inside and could pay at my table. This offers a good view looking down to Diggle and has plenty of seating.
