Expensive but a nice place for a rest and refreshment in Oldham. Seven pounds odd for two coffees, nicely presented etc but above my price range in all honesty.
Having said that, it's not a dump and has decent standards - and it's clean. I'd rather enjoy the experience rather than sit in somewhere that's not inviting π
Update as of 16/11/2022.
As said previously, expensive but welcoming and warm, with a very comfortable vibe.
In the sense of 'expensive', the prices don't seem to have increased - though we're now experiencing huge hikes in interest and inflation/cost of living crisis, so what was expensive has now become reasonable.
Staff with a warm attitude made the experience all the more relaxing.
Will definitely use again π
Always a pleasure to call in for a drink. Staff are really welcoming. Had toast too today which was really nice. Total spent Β£4.80. Great value
Very nice clean place but I wish not just here but other cafes would do just plain ham or cheese not put it together cos some people don't like cheese or cafes tend to put tomatoes on and not everyone likes tomatoes either so hard to find a straight forward butty this day and age
Had a lovely lunch with 2 friends, Rhodes Island has a nice atmosphere, and the staff behind the counter were really helpful, I will be going again.
Easily the best coffee in town, hands down. Sam and the gang are delightful and always eager to give you the best experience possible. The clotted cream scones are to die for too! Family friendly, many tables are buggy accessible. Outdoor seating is great for people watching on nice days. Honestly a real gem at the heart of the town center.
Can get busy, only had coffee and toast, staff were pleasant, plenty of seats, nice place.
Great little coffee shop. Staff are welcoming and friendly.
Can be quiet but does have a friendly welcoming feel to it
Busy popular coffee shop, friendly happy staff, always served with a smile
Really convenient coffee cafe with a good choice of sandwiches and cakes. At times it can be very busy so it is difficult to find a seat (although more seating can be found outside). The coffee is bold and full of flavour (like a Columbian taste)
Lovely staff, great coffee amd treats. Been coming years and find it so much better than any other coffee house in Oldham. Keep up the good work π
Sandwhiches were great and milkshakes were nice. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Although we live close to Oldham it must have been at least seven years since we went into the town centre and so we found this coffee shop by accident. What a happy accident! The staff were happy, attentive and efficient. Two good coffees and two warm croissants later we had enjoyed a pleasant and inexpensive stay albeit a little longer than expected as it is a great place for people watching.
Good coffee, nice food. Good location for shoppers.
Excellent service very nice staff a pleasure to go In and enjoy a coffee
Quite busy. Excellent coffee. I had a cheese & onion toastie. Moderate cost, cheaper than most other coffee shops. The buy 9 and get 1 free is good. Will visit again.
Stopped for a moment and had a gorgeous Chai latte from this cafe. Will definitely return, really polite staff and very friendly atmosphere π
Lovely indipendent coffee shop (part of North West chain) within Oldham rarely do you see it empty always buzzing with plenty of people of all characters coming in for a coffee, hot chocolate or tea or cold beverages.
They have a great selection of food, from cakes, panini's, sandwiches and other hot and cold food.
Also don't forget to try the luxury hot chocolate. Given it four stars as the seating arrangement is rather complicated to navigate.
Quick stop in Oldham before we went to Manchester. Popped in here and it totally surprised me. I wasn't initially keen to go in but my wife said let's give it a go. I couldn't have been more wrong. We had 2x cappuccinos which were a lot better than the main chain coffee shop cappuccinos and the sandwiches were really tasty. Definitely recommend the place.
Busy but served quickly. My Mums tea was a bit on the strong side as they leave the bags in the cups, by the time you have taken your drinks to your table they are strong already and there is nowhere you could take them out sooner, it would be better if they left the tea bags out of the water so the customer would be able to make their tea as weak or as strong as they wanted.
