Located on Langley High Street, The Little Bangla can best be described as an expensive restaurant at a budget price.
As soon as you walk in, you are greeted by friendly staff, if not the owner himself, who takes his time to make you feel welcomes and comfortable. This is a really nice touch and the sign of a boss who truly values his customers.
In terms of decor, the restaurant area is divided into two, with a border containing a variety of potted plants, sitting beneath a ceiling light which bathes the room in a tasteful blue glow. On the far wall, next to the bar, is a wall covered in pictures and posters, all celebrating the restaurant’s various awards and achievements.
We were served soon after being seated. The waiter was extremely friendly and accommodating, even offering food that wasn't listed on the standard menu. He also asked us if we were celebrating a special occasion, and offered us a candle for our table, which was an incredibly nice touch. After finishing our meal, he also opened our hot towels and handed them to us, meaning neither of us burned our fingers when pulling them out of the plastic. I know it's only a little detail, but it added to the overall experience. And that's what it was. An experience. Not just a standard dinner at a standard Balti House in the Black Country on a Sunday evening.
As for the food, here's how it went...
Appetisers:
We ordered Poppadoms, were fresh, crunchy and large, with a selection of three dips, including a chopped onions, mango chilli, and an excellent mint sauce which with thick, creamy and incredibly tasty.
Starters:
We ordered Chicken Pakora and Lamb Samosas. The batter on the Chicken Pakora was light, the tikka chicken was cooked to perfection. The three lamb samosas were brimming with flavour, containing more spices and ingredients than average. The batter was crunchy but not too thick. Paired with the mint sauce, it was delicious.
Mains:
We both ordered a Chicken Balti, rice, and a Garlic and Coriander Naan. The Balti sauce was delicious, not over-spiced, full of flavour with the classic sweet aftertaste you get at good Bangladeshi restaurants. The rice was light, flurry, perfectly cooked, and presented on the plate in either the shape of a heart or a star. The naan was light and fluffy, liberally garnished with the garlic and coriander. It also had a lovely, sweet aftertaste that perfectly complimented the Balti sauce.
In short, it was excellent. And the price was incredibly reasonable too. The above menu for two, plus two large cokes cost only £21 a head. This is a brilliant price for such a high standard of food and service.
Highly recommended.

One of the best restaurant I visited in UK . I really love it . It was my Area Manager’s birthday. The Restaurant managed it very well . They severed very fast . Good food , clean and nice atmosphere.
Ordered a takeaway on a Saturday night to collect.
Very friendly staff offered us free soft drinks while we were waiting (which wasn't very long)
Place was clean
Food was hot and tasty and very reasonably priced .
Definitely 1 to go back to and done in
10/10
Probably the best Indian / Bangladeshi restaurant we've ever been in.
The atmosphere was let's say above average.
The food though was off the scale. 100%+.
Easy to see why they were voted No.1 Bangladeshi in the UK.
Prices were fantastic.
Service was fantastic.
Honestly couldn't fault anything.
2nd visit was just a good, maybe even better. Prices are still very reasonable even with rampant inflation.
3rd visit- (August 2023), very busy today and service was a little slow. The food though was fantastic again!
Great food good service friendly staff go there again
We found this gem on Google reviews close to where we staying in Oldbury. Not being big on Indian/Bangladeshi food, I relied on the reviews for choice to go. In short, great service, great food, it is a BYOB as it doesn't serve alcohol. We had the chicken jalfrezi, and lamb jaipur, with pilau rice, absolutely delicious. There are a few restaurants in the area, and I definitely recommend Little Bangla 👍
Absolutely delicious food. Cost £57 for 3 of us. We had popperdoms & mains and no starter & a kulfi to finish. The portions were fine for us, however, might be a little small if we had men with us.
We visited for the first time Saturday 1st August. We were made feel very welcome. Lovely atmosphere. Very clean restaurant. Excellent tasty food, can't fault it. Highly recommended. Thank you Little Bangla, we shall definitely be returning.
Amazing food! Lovely friendly staff. We've started to use here every Sunday as our new Indian as we enjoy it compared to others we've been using.
Food was superb. Service fast and efficient and friendly. Alcohol free restaurant but welcome to byo. Overall, excellent experience
Excellent service. Lovely food I really enjoyed it. I will come again .
Well, the first time back to Birmingham since childhood and a must to find some excellent local cuisine. Staying in an unprepossessing area nearby, this restaurant cropped up on a search, down the road, and just happened to have great reviews and various awards. We managed to get in on a Saturday night with a late booking and the food was wonderful, without exception -particularly the Lamb Jaipuri and the Bindi Bhaji. Being a BYO, a good bottle of red along was taken along which enhanced the evening.
We returned the next day also - something I have never done - and the food was even better. As I mentioned to the charming and helpful son of the owner, the front of house, it was the best 'curry' I'd had in 25 years (probably longer than that but you don't want to look too old!) A truly family business, with his grandfather working there too, this restaurant cannot be recommended more highly. Thanks again for two excellent meals and any excuse to come back to the Midlands, I'll return.
We had a lovely meal 10 10 food was very nice my madras was one of the best I have had and the manger and he's team where spot on thanks 😊
The restaurant is clean, comfortable & warm. The staff are friendly. The food was the best we have had for a long time. Highly recommend. You can also visit for breakfast. Mark, Cat & Yvonne from Derby.
Absolutely wonderful. Went on Thursday for a curry with a few friends and had a Gurkha Lamb Curry - Absolutely incredible and th service is top notch. Highly recommended 👍
First time using this resturant on Just Eat the other night.
Ordered samosas, chips, Biryani, naan, pops and mint dip.
Food was good quality and I couldn't believe the portion size of mint dip! A whole tub instead of the small little pots that we usually get from other restaurants.
Came in good time.
Would use again
