Amazing food and ambience. Impeccable service. I stopped by for lunch after a walk in Windsor Great Park. After watching Adam completing and finally winning in Great British Menu my expectation was high but I wasn’t disappointed at all. The tasting menu was generous and every dish was well-executed and packed with flavour. The manager took time to share with me their sustainability commitment and showed me their kitchen garden in the back where some of the herbs and veggies were sourced. My favourite dish was their signature dish “Mother”, a celeriac parcel with cheese topped with sliced apple and mushroom powder. It looked big but tasted refreshing. The beef tartare and the salmon cappuccino were both very tasty too. I was glad their there was some good chilli heat in them. The service was great throughout, which made the whole experience wholesome. I really enjoyed every bite and every moment.
I have taken a colleague there for dinner and we really enjoyed it, first, we were lucky to have a very warm day, we sat outside where we could enjoy a beautiful country side scenery.
The food was gorgeous, I started with beef tartare which was amazingly seasoned but also the presentation of it was the best I’ve ever seen for this kind of dish (picture attached)
I continued with a chateaubriand which was cooked just right and served with a very generous amount of side dishes - I focused on eating the steak but really couldn’t finish all the sides
My colleague had the Cornish Lobster and as a big Lobster fan he was worried that it’ll fall short but it didn’t
We also continued to the puddings and they followed the same theme of not only high quality but served beautifully
If I’m to be picky on where improvements can be made I would say that with the service wanting to be very attentive they may have overdone it a bit, we were asked a few times if we want to drink or ready to order when we were engaged in a conversation, again, it’s me being picky
The most outstanding restaurant I have visited in many years. I took my parents with me, visiting from Devon, and my father declared it the best restaurant meal he has ever had! We had the taster menus, one vegetarian, one meat and the others pescatarian. Every one of the seven dishes was a feast for the senses and the wine pairings made for a beautifully diverse experience. The staff were superb hosts and it was the perfect “long lunch”. Thank you all x

Yes that is 6 stars. I am usurping the Google 5 star convention here to signal just how much a good experience The Loch & The Tyne was.
Atmosphere
This is hands down my personal favorite atmosphere in Windsor… actually Surrey. It’s sophisticated but approachable. Professional yet friendly.
Food and Drink
Next level experience here. The food all has sustainability at the heart of it (cue the puffy pastry ice cream… amazing and smart).
The signature dish “Mother” does not disappoint. Everything is just different degrees of outstanding. Some must tries in my opinion:
- Mother
- Cheese Donuts
- Beef Tartar
- Chicken Butter
If you like Old Fashions and Penutbutter they have an amazingly unique cocktail where they combine both.
Service
We were served by Lyle and Nicolette. Both were excellent and topped up our amazing experience. They knew when to engage and when to stand back.
The front of house was amazing and even helped us meet Chef Johnnie who gave some tips to my young aspiring Chefs at home (6 and 4 years old ).
Find an excuse to come here.
Well done and thank you for the experience.
Went here for a meal and had the tasting menu with the added wine tasting. And it was an amazing meal aswell as an amazing experience. Each meal was cooked to perfection and was perfectly timed and the wines were amazing too, not often you find a place with so many English wines and that's if you can find one at all. This is a place well worthy of their 3 Rosettes and I will very much be looking forwards to going there again!
