My hubby and I went to Oban for a long weekend and went into this lovely restaurant for breakfast...we had Lorne sausage on a roll with a potato scone and we were delighted with how tasty it was the potato scones were to die for and everything is homemade...we went in the next day for more Lorne sausage and we had the best Chocolate Brownies we have ever tasted there was a lovely cheese selection so of course we had to have some of that too...the young guy and girl who serve you are lovely and welcoming and mannerly...I would highly recommend this outstanding restaurant on Oban pier...our compliments to the wonderful chef for all his amazing food...we are just sorry we didn't buy some of your homemade pies and sausage rolls to bring home with us they looked amazing...thank you all for a lovely experience xx
Some fab Vegan options & lovely hosts.
I highly recommend the Vegan options here. Today I had an amazing 'vegan caramelized red onion & rosemary pastry tart with watercress and vegan cheese' (made from scratch on the premesis). The chips and sweet potato chips are cooked separately in veggie oil, they often have a vegan soup, and their vegan chocolate brownies are to die for! They also have non dairy milk for your tea and coffee.
Had a full breakfast here. Lovely food and really friendly people. If you're looking for somewhere to eat that's near the ferry terminal I highly recommend Food from Argyll At The Pier. I will definitely be visiting again.
Can't speak high enough of the food, service or ethos of Food From Argyll. Was an unexpected treat to find this at a ferry terminal when it's got the vibe of a place tucked away up a cobblestone alley. You know you're onto a good thing when you stare at the menu for ages and still struggle to settle on one thing. Kudos to Martin for being a champ.
Great wee cafe with fantastic friendly staff..... great food and coffee fab too one of my fav locals
Fast efficient service from pleasant friendly staff. Everything prepared fresh as you wait. Lovely cappuccino
The food here is excellent, it is well presented and the combination of different foods - fabulous

Have eaten here twice now, each thing I've tried has been amazing. Would definitely recommend anyone to come here & support local business
I consider myself an empire biscuit connoisseur, and enjoy travelling the country tasting them in any cafe I visit. The one I had here was easily the best I've had this year. All the components were delicious and in the perfect ratio. A solid 9.7. It would have been a 10 with a jelly tot instead of a cherry, but fabulous nonetheless.
Excellent service: the staff are friendly and diligent. The food is decent and so is the price. Small, better for take away than staying in. Has shelves with local products for purchase.
Food From Argyll at the Pier is a little cafe situated ideally for the ferry terminal and a few minutes walk from the train station. The staff were very friendly and the bacon&egg roll plus the flat white was really good! The roll was fresh and the bacon&egg tasted of decent quality. I would definitely recommend if you're in Oban looking for breakfast.
We had fantastic breakfast there. We had salmon with eggs and toasties. Nice flat white aswell. The guy serving us explained how they secure gluten free tost from contaminationin in toaster and added that they use new butter and a clean knife for my gf toasties. And everything tasted fenomenal. And all that while being super nice and charming. #celiac #glutenfree #gluten
Loved the big breakfast even though it almost defeated us. Delicious produce and service with a genuine smile - what a great way to start your day :D
This is the best Scottish breakfast ever with locally sourced quality ingredients at such a reasonable price. Just so good. Actually I think it’s been one of the best cooked breakfasts I’ve ever had.
We had been looking for somewhere in Oban to have breakfast and I’m certain this has to be one of the best.
Home made tattie bread, top quality locally sourced haggis, lorne sausage, black pudding, bacon and sausages. Breakfast rolls available with a choice of breakfast fillings. I wanted a full Scottish breakfast and they were happy to provide this even though it wasn’t on the menu. Staff so friendly and helpful. Due to covid restrictions, takeaway only available. This wasn’t a problem for us at all. Took it back to the campervan and plated it up.
If you’re after a Scottish breakfast with top quality ingredients at a reasonable price then you’ll get all that here.
Fantastic, friendly welcome, locally sourced food - basic but very good. Fantastic welcome (did I already say that?). Ideal place to wait for a ferry, or just watch the harbour life, and the world in general go by. It’s added to by the fantastic welcome! The guy running the place was also very knowledgeable about the area and gave good advice about what to see and where to go.
Living locally, I come here fairly often. It's one of my favourite little places to go. Everyone is very friendly and the food is great. They also stock a good amount of gluten free products in thier shop, as well as some really lovely Scottish and local produce. All in all, a great place.
Fantastic porridge and great roll. Very friendly staff. I'll definitely be back.
A lovely wee cafe! Great for a snack before boarding the ferry.
One of the best breakfasts I had in a long time. Martin was very helpful and flexible when customizing our order, I ordered a toasted toastie with scrambled egg, mushroom, tomatoes and cheese all together and it wasn’t even in the menu! These details are what makes the place worth another visit
Thanks Martin and the team for your excellent service
Lovely working lunch - great service, friendly, efficient staff and high-quality, tasty meals. Loved it.
Great wee cafe, Fantastic friendly service and so nice to see lots of local produce in a local shop run by local folks. Wee boys loved their babyccinos.
I love this place! Such friendly, genuine staff, and excellent food. While it seems to be a local favourite, they welcome travellers - they even have a world map & some stickers so travellers can mark where they’re from!
The food was brilliant, best breakfast I’ve had in Oban. All the food is locally sourced in Argyll, and they have a board listing all the local businesses their ingredients are sourced from! It’s fresh, well-cooked and great value. Highly recommend their hot smoked salmon or their black pudding with some fresh eggs on toast! Only thing I’d like to see are some juices on the menu, but that’s just me. The coffee was good too!
All in all, highly recommend you stop past. It’d be my first stop for a brew on my next visit to Oban!
great café, great food and great service! their toasties are super tasty (highly recommend the ham and mustard one), ideal to grab a bite to eat before hopping on the ferry or going on a wee walk around oban
My husband and I had bacon rolls and coffee here 2 days in a row, excellent service and delisious freash local food, great staff, the young man who took our order even remembered how I like my bacon. My food allergies were taken seriously. I will definately visit again and recommend, my husband said the flapjack was the best he had eaten.
I had a roll with fried egg & yummy potato scone from here. My partner had sausage and black pudding on his and they were both first class breakfast rolls. The coffee is local and it was magic! They have a variety of lovely fillings and also lots of local produce to buy.
Best breakfast rolls in Oban, as well as lots of other tasty treats and presents. Very friendly staff, and they made a big effort to make our breakfast just in time to catch the morning train. Thanks so much!
Gorgeous cafe with great selection of foods, candles, soaps etc. Staff super friendly and welcoming. Breakfast rolls fantastic. best cafe in argyll hands down
