Pretty hotel, very conveniently located in the centre of the village. The twin room (number 9) was really aesthetic with comfy beds and recently renovated bathroom. A drawback was that the windows had transparent curtains, which meant waking up very early in the morning due to the light. A choice of hot breakfast was included, in addition to bread and jam, cereals etc. Everything was excellent in taste and quality. Friendly and helpful staff too.
First stay and overall very impressed. Staff friendly and food excellent. The rooms are basic but the wet room was clean and modern. Good value too! Highly recommend for the price.
Popped in for a lunchtime tipple, and then added lunch to this, too.
Nice place with friendly staff. A shame one of the beers and the only (as far as I could see anyway) cider was out, but still a good range of beverages available.
Good was very good, with a tasty steak and fish & chips being heartily consumed. Very reasonable prices too.
If you are this way, I can recommend popping in for a drink, something to eat, or both!
Didn't stay at the hotel but went with my friend for lunch on a glorious sunny Sunday - had an incredible meat sharing platter to start and mains of chicory blue cheese salad and pan seared cod.
Really tasty and generous portions - the front of house chap was super helpful and friendly. Garden out back is beautiful - really enjoyed it!
Great pub in really central location in the beautiful town of Oakham. Great food, super efficient and friendly staff and clean comfortable rooms. Wonderful large beer garden too. We love staying here!

Enjoyed a pleasant meal in the beer garden, dogs welcome, very busy venue, have not been for about 5 years and it has gone from a nice country pub to a bit of a place to be seen. Prefer pre Tik Tok .
We went here after the local Italian restaurant owner was not welcoming. The food is a tad pricy but once served realised it was well prepared and good quality. Service was great also. Was not staying so no rating on room.
Great place. Stayed for 2 nights. Food lovely, service excellent. Rooms tidy and clean. We were in the "stable block" room which was nice but didn't have any openable windows and the floors were thin so noise travelled from above. Regardless I slept well so not a major issue. Car park is small but we managed to get in but even the staff described parking to be like a game of tetris! Wouldn't hesitate to recommend or return.

Rooms need a bit of TLC. Comfortable enough. Excellent food in restaurant. Car park holds approx 8-10 cars. Difficult to find without directions as no signage and through private housing and through two arches.
Had a room provided for us for our small wedding party the food was delicious each course was excellent served by friendly staff we were not rushed all courses had a space in between to clear away replenish drinks then bring out the next course it was lovely thank you

Central, busy, acoustic in some rooms difficult for conversation especially d you have hearin aids. Food was delicious (rainbow trout), cauliflower curry though not many vegetarian options.
