Beautiful pub with garden setting and plenty of sun/shade options. We ate from lunch menu and found everything delicious and fresh. Was so nice to have real crackling with my pork roast and cream sauce for veggies was to die for. My wife a vegetarian, had the nut roast which she said was fantastic.
Stopped off here for a quick drink and they have this gorgeous hidden garden out the back that’s a complete sun trap, it was gorgeous! We ordered bacon, Brie and cranberry baguettes and they were honestly the best I’ve ever had, delicious!
A really friendly pub offering good food, always our first choice when visiting Oakham. The beer garden is a wonderful place to sit on a summers evening.
Very friendly old Pub. Food was great at a reasonable price. I had 3 cheese quiche with new potatoes and salad with a soft drink all for under a tenner. Lovely atmosphere and excellent service.
An excellent choice of ales, which were kept in good condition. We thought that barman needed to be a bit more cheerful in order to engage with customers. Otherwise, a good looking pub, both internally and externally, with a fine selection of real ales.
Called for lunch yesterday - first time we've been her for more than 10 years. Warm and genuine welcome, first-rate service, home cooked curry, home cooked fish and chips and home cooked steak and ale pie - (there were three of us, I hasten to add!) - excellent quality. We will definitely be back
Fabulous surroundings in a traditional pub. Proper food made on the premises. First class service and very reasonably priced. Great dog friendly pub.

Pub Gardens is lush and pretty, the menu is basic but BURGERS ARE HOMEMADE! This is such a rarity and the burgers tasted great!
We loved sitting there and chatting and staff were lovley and helpful!

My father used to own this pub for many years. Took him back years later and high standards not changed and traditional pub maintained with lovely beer garden.

Such a pleasant place to visit with great staff, good prices, amazing food and such a nice atmosphere, highly recommended and for me, this is the best pub in Oakham, by far.
