Lovely pub with ample parking, friendly staff greet you with a smile! The menu is varied with veggie and vegan options but for the average person (like me) the menu didn't appeal a great deal as its "to posh" I had fish and chips (simple choice like me) which was delicious but a tad on the pricey side. My friend had a pork dish which looked lovely and she enjoyed it. I would definitely go again (for lunch and simpler menu).
Great find, lovely pub, great setting. Really enjoyed my visit here, had a couple of pints, and a breakfast bap which couldn't get any better. Menu very appealing and loads looked good. Atmosphere lovely, staff are helpful and friendly and service pretty bang on. This place really Great all year I would imagine but felt warm and homely on an autumnal Saturday.. I will re visit soon.
Friendly traditional pub/restaurant. Good traditional food, enjoyed their mushrooms on sourdough and main course faggots. Good portion sizes. Interesting selection of ales...reasonable prices for food and drinks.....will return
Although the pub itself wasn't I had very easy access to the room. There were instructions left in the room and the key was in a lock box. Would have loved to tried the food. Bit of a signal blackspot for some networks. Beautifully quiet and a lovely room that was absolutely spotlessly clean. I would recommend this hotel.
Super friendly staff, nice vibe and chilled music in the garden area. Quiet on a week day, perfect for a drink and food after a walk at Woodcheater park. I just had a little coffee only but plenty of value options from chips £4, chicken wings £6 through to more luxurious, premium options. Some fun quotes throughout the pub.
We stayed here for two nights while attending a family wedding at Kingscote Barn. A mere 4 miles away. Very convenient.
When we were going to have dinner there we were told the chef had been delayed with transport issues.
Jenny paid for us to go to the sister pub near tetbury called the Tippits.
Highly recommended.
Had a lovely meal there.
Couldn't do enough for us. Breakfast each morning wad delicious.
Our room was very comfortable with our own free standing bath rather strange at first but very relaxing. .Will recommend staying there again.
Popped in today as we were visiting a couple of places . Nice warm welcome , very good menu - had a lovely burger and my wife had a veggie option . Pint was excellent . Would definitely recommend a visit .
Table for 9 booked for Sunday Roast. The staff could not have been more welcoming to us at this most charming of pubs in a lovely village, the service was super friendly and super efficient and with a smile; it is so nice to feel welcomed. BEST roast dinner we have had, both the pork belly and beef are absolutely beautiful. If you are considering this lovely pub for Sunday roast don't hesitate, you will not be disappointed.
We visited this lovely pub recently as we were staying nearby. We'd heard good things about it so was curious to check it out. Wow, what a welcoming place! We ended up dining out three times during our stay. The food was first class, especially the Sunday roast (I'm still dreaming of that gravy - undeniably the best gravy I've had in years!). The service was attentive and warm. A special mention to the manager Harry, who was an absolute delight and a credit to the pub! Definitely worth a visit if you're passing through or visiting the area.
We are so lucky as this is our new local! It is a fabulous pub. We had a meal on Tuesday to celebrate our 30th Wedding Anniversary in the restaurant area at the back of the pub and had an absolutely delicious meal and on the eat out to help out scheme. We enjoyed it so much so in fact that we returned on Sunday with two of our grown up children (plus dog so we ate in the front bar area) and had another fabulous meal. The food is really excellent and it is has a lovely friendly atmosphere. Well done Rose and Crown!
Near faultless experience. The entire team at Rose & Crown was wonderful. We stayed for a night after a wedding & had a very blissful sleep as the area is very quiet. The food is an absolute must. The ham hock terrine is by far the best I've ever had, & the bloody Mary sauce with the scotch eggs was a great mix. There's also a great selection of local ales & beers which I thoroughly recommend sampling with the food.
After a nap in our room, we had the half price fish & chips & mushy with fizz (& many a glass of wine!). It was a great evening in the sunny back garden playing games & it's ideal for drinks. There's a fire pit & booth coverings so great for socials & social distancing.
Finally, we had to finish with a full English. We customised ours with the chef the night before, and despite our best efforts to finish everything, we were defeated!
There's a array of amazing views & national trust parks & forests nearby, so if you're with a friend, partner or family, I 100% recommend stopping here. Thanks for a great stay!
Such a fantastic overnight stay!
Lovely staff and the room was immaculate.
We visited with our 2 little dogs and was made to feel very welcome. Had dinner & breakfast at the Rose and Crown and would highly recommend - food was 1st Class along with the lovely atmosphere
Thank you to all :)
Phoned on the off chance of a table for lunch the day before Christmas Eve after a morning of food shopping. The landlord couldn't have been more friendly especially as we hadn't booked and there were two adults and a one year old. Arrived and got a lovely table by the wood burner.
Service was excellent and the food was great. Will definitely be heading back.
We had Sunday lunch followed by a lovely walk. Driving so no beer which is a shame. The food was tasty and well prepared. I had Hake, although if Id seen the burgers go past before Id ordered- they looked amazing- I might have thought twice. Puddings were enormous, the staff were motivated and the service relaxed without being slow. We'll go back!
I had a lovely Sunday roast dinner here, and a lovely waitress called Sinead. She was so attentive and made sure we had everything we needed, thank you! We would definitely come here again if she was serving us.
We had a meal here a couple of weeks ago so a little late with the review. We had a lovely lunch time meal here and the staff were very welcoming. The food was fantastic, we both had lamb pitta to start which was very refreshing in the heat and I had beer battered haddock to follow which was also very nice. No hesitation to come back again and try more of the varied menu.
