Pleasantly surprised. I found this place after searching for a wheelchair accessible restaurant close to where we had an appointment. We were lucky to get parking as this establishment has a small car park off a residential street, but the actual pub restaurant is small but lovely. The staff and patrons were friendly and the food was plentyful, hot and delicious. Dad ordered the 2 fish and chips expecting 2 small fish in batter; although, they were huge and as a self proclaimed fish expert said it was delicious (he usually complains that fish is never a good as down south). I had the chicken balti which again was well presented and delicious. I really can't fault the place.

What a lovely place...Food was amazing !!
Me and my fiancee got taken here for our birthday's by a friend.
The service was top notch from the young lady who served us... The food was genuinely fantastic quality throughout... There was 7 off us dining and all chose different items and although very busy the food came out quite quickly.
Booking is essential as they only have a small dining area.
We traveled from the other side of Birmingham probably 25 miles however we will definitely be going here again soon..
I had the mega mixed grill and it was touch and go whether I'd finish it, from the first to the last bite it was the business 😋😋
My fiancee had the lamb shank and she swears it's the best she's eaten anywhere.
So book in advance and treat yourself to a quality night out... Even if it's a way to travel, on my experience its will worth the extra money and effort.
I'll have to get the young ladies name next time and add it as she did an excellent job looking after us..

The monster mixed grill was unbelievably delicious. The steak was so tender.The best mixed grill I have ever eaten. The portion was massive and well worth the price. Would go again without question. My partners beef lasagne was really tasty as well.
Meaty heaven on a plate! Although their menu has a wide choice I have never had anything other than the mixed grill as it’s the best I’ve ever tasted. The staff are always friendly and even on particularly busy days service is always quick.
We went to The Malt Shovel last Saturday lunchtime for a family friend’s birthday. We were there at lunchtime on opening so got great service with drinks and taking our food order. The menu had a massive selection which were all reasonably priced and what struck us was the portion sizes! They were HUGE! Very happy Diners. We really enjoyed ourselves and will be returning soon! Many thanks to the Staff for making it a good experience.
Great pub, fabulous service but, for me, the food was definitely frozen first so lost flavour. Shame because the portions satisfy every appetite. I noticed a lot of steaks on the menu so guessing that's their preferred offering.

First visit tonight. Lovely pub and friendly helpful staff. We all really enjoyed our meals which were delicious. The Lemon salmon was outstanding, my wife really enjoyed her ribs and rump steak and our daughter loved the chilli.
Wonderful menu and very generous portions. Excellent value and we will be back.
Food was amazing. Only downsides were the tiny carpark (and people taking up 2 spaces but that is not the pubs fault) and the wait time for food. However the food was phenomenal and both me and my husband couldn't finish so had the food boxed to go. It was good quality too large breasts of chicken and large portions overall. Would definitely go again! X
Absolutely unbelievably great, good, pub food! I have never been so full in my life! Both defeated by maim courses. Fantastically well priced, brilliant value for money. Home cooked, pub food, done to its best! We have found a hidden Gem, local to our new home.
The menu itself is Vast! I could come twice a day for a week, not eat the d a me thing twice.
Staff are warm, welcoming, friendly, helpful. We had a brilliant time. We will be back soon, but won't eat all day before we come next time! Food coma! Happy place. Thank you. See you soon guys.

Lovely food, drinks and staff. Went for a 16oz Pil Pil Fillet Steak, wow! If you don’t do hot and spicy don’t choose this, as there is about a head of garlic and probably 20 chopped birds eye (hot) chillies, but it was perfect for me. Wife had Lemon Sole which she loved. Lovely friendly waitresses and bar staff, and an excellent price. Thanks guys! PS Still full up after 8 hours 😀
Just got back from here and had we both had lovely meals. Couldn't fault it. The staff were really friendly. Really big portions. Well worth the money. We will definitely return with friends. A lovely cosy pub.

OMG... even if you're travelling on the M6 and need to stop for lunch DON'T waste your money at the service stations, get off the motorway and have your lunch here... it was amazing. I'd recommend booking though as you're going to be disappointed if you get there and they're full!
