The food is amazing!!! Proper African food. The portion is more than enough. My husband and I couldn't finish it, had to ask to take the rest home, and we didn't have to wait a long time for the food to come. It was very quick.
I do not give a 5 stars review because the service wasn't good. As we arrived we weren't welcomed to seat nor taken to our table. We just stood there until I went and asked one of the staff if we could sit.
When we finished our meal and asked to take the rest home they packed it and we were looking forward to eating it later on when we were hungry again but, to our surprise, when we got home and opened the pack, we saw that they only packed two of the three dishes that we ordered. The third one they left it there. We called to see if there was something they could do and they apologised and told us that it was a mistake, they forgot to pack it, but we don't believe that. I was really upset because it was a good amount of delicious food that we paid for and really wanted to eat later. Moral of the story: CHECK YOUR BAG TO CONFIRM YOUR ORDER BEFORE LEAVING THE RESTAURANT.
Overall, it is indeed a good restaurant with easy access, but they need training on customer service.
Waiting time was 40 mins but the food was lovely a group of 5 was £74 was decently priced. Very good should go here.
Even tho the service was great overall and I enjoyed the atmosphere so in conclusion Restaurant did good
I had fish with fried yam, there was spicy sauceand veg on the fish, i top it off with malta non alcoholic drink. It was delicious the veg on top of the fish was like icing on the cake. The flavours was great combination together with everything on my plan. It was also presented very well. I was truly pleased. I would recommend any one to go, just has long as you can take really spicy food.
The place is a joint, accessed via back fire escape or through the downbeat pub downstairs - a local will tell you where the restaurant is when you look lost! I like "joints", place is relaxed, staff very friendly and food is decent and good value - although the large fish served was not quite hot in the middle (ask them to heat it very well!!) - good range of drinks like Gulder, Star, palmy, etc.

Excellent communication, Customer support, and the food was very good.
However, its difficult to locate. May we should give direction sign from the road, through steps to the room.
May more bigger Internatuonal picture of role modern Africans and white that influence African unity and development.
Went there with my family today..little girl enjoyed the jollof rice...the fried yam n fish is wowwww..can't fault this place..food is served freshhhhhh
It's always a good night out at AfricanBase. But on DJ nights (last Friday of the month) it goes really wild. Good food, good service and good music.
The food was amazing but the service could have been better. There was a long wait for food to be served.
