My girlfriend threw me a surprise 21st here this weekend and everything about it was brilliant! Great pub, the rooms, staff, service and drinks were all on point! Some weird and wonderful shots on the menu and she said that they were so helpful to her when she was organising the night!

The decor at the Orange tree is just my cup of tea - quirky and homely. I particularly love the little garden round the back with its leafy speckled sunshine and benches.
The staff are always really friendly and personal and come across as a real lovely bunch.
My daughter and I came for a Sunday dinner a few weeks ago (vegetarian) and I spent the whole meal saying "Oh that's good.....really good!" It was a proper vegetarian meal. Delicious!
We were so impressed I dragged the rest of my family for a meal for my week day birthday and all of us enjoyed our dinners.

What a lovely pub, with great staff and food. Thank you Ethan for the last minute booking for 4 roast dinners....they went down a treat. Thanks also to our waitress (didn't catch her name, but remember the purplish hair!) she was very attentive. Filled us up for our long journey back to London.....very late that night!!

Well nice staff, great vibes with the live bands, i tried a burger without the bun and it was amazing! It was the beef brisket with bratwurst sausage ♡ Probably going to have to go back for another one soon tbf
My daughter has been talking about this place for a long time. Finally got to go for a spot of lunch. Was impressed by the venue and the food. The young staff were pretty amazing too. So polite and friendly! Definitely going back �

What a great pub, Vegan friendly menu (with the promise of even more delicious options) and great attentive bar staff. We had a great lunch here today and the cocktails were so yummy and well made too, will definitely be back as we were made to feel so welcome :)

I love The Orange Tree!!! Can't fault it for service or quality, the cocktails are divine and food is good especially the vegetarian and vegan options they do, as often they are different and more imaginative than the normal choices on other menus. Prices are good and I think on the cheaper side for other places similar. It has a really chilled out vibe and is good for all ages... my gran who's in her 70's loves going with us for a Toblerone Martini. The only thing I think could be improved is most of the tables cater for large groups and there could be smaller tables but I don't think that can detract from how great the food and service is that these guys provide ☺☺

I attended a private event here this weekend and the venue was perfect for having these separate space for hanging out, conversations, seating areas, and dancing, it flowed really well. Also the staff were so great about accomodating our requests for items for the party and also serving drinks so fast. Thanks to Lucy and Tanya that went above and beyond to make our event such a fun time
We hosted a private charity event here and they were so accommodating and helpful. Josh and the team (Tanya and Lucy) were so lovely and the space felt so warm with a fantastic atmosphere. It's great to have different areas to work with. Huge bonus with it being wheelchair accessible.

The atmosphere here is wonderful- very cozy pub right across from Nottingham Trent University. On that basis alone it’s worth a visit. Although, not the best beer selection. I also used to love to go for their 2-4-1 pizza deal on Mondays, which was great value for money. However, lately it seems the quality of this has taken a dive. On my last visit, I ordered the ‘Margot’ and the cheese didn’t taste like mozzarella should. Perhaps worse than this, I’d asked for some red chili flakes for the pizza, a very common pizza topping that every other restaurant serving pizza provides in abundance for free. However, although they had some they refused to provide any because, bizarrely, they couldn’t find an option on the till to charge 50p for chili flakes. Charging for chili flakes on pizza is like charging for salt & pepper. So, unable to pay for them, I couldn’t get them complimentary either. Strangest and most disappointing pizza experience in recent memory.
lovely atmosphere and a great quiz night, however, being charged more than £4 for a large glass of lemonade is a bit ridiculous ngl.
also, i initially asked for another drink but the staff member didn’t even realise that they offer it on the menu so i had to go for the alternative
We hosted an event at the Playwright and it was incredible. The manager was so supportive and the bar staff, Lucy and Tanya, we exceptional all night long. If give 6 stars if I could

The Playwright, formerly known as the Orange Tree near Trent University. I reckon it is more of a place where University staff and students go - due to its vicinity to campus.
The interior is very much what you would imagine if you heard the words "English pub". The place is dog friendly and offers a good range of drinks and food and it is quite decent food at that too. I loved my Harissa Halloumi Kebab, it was delicious. The next time I go, I will try the quesadilla.

Booked the function rooms for my partner's 30th birthday and could not have been happier. Josh was so helpful and responsive when planning this party and organising the food, music and rooms. Leah and Fran were absolute stars serving the drinks and making sure the guests were looked after. Blown away by the food from Ashraf and Alex, cracking pizzas and wings! Thank you all for making the night so special and memorable. All the guests commented about how great this venue is and we will not hesitate to recommend to friends, family and beyond. You would be mad not to book here for a great party, can't thank the team enough!

First visit on a quiet Wednesday night. Surprisingly spacious and comfortable. Loved the decor/atmosphere/welcome.

Today Monday 19th June we decided we would try the pizza for lunch we had the mushroom ...it was delicious I went to the lady who was cooking and said how pleased we were with our meal...her name was Alex very sociable and pleasant

Wanted to organize a surprise bday for my mate and their communication was so great and helpful planning and adjusting to my needs. A whole room was organized and the place was so vibey and top spot in Nottingham for a pint or a cocktail!! Everyone loved it and customer service was a 10/10. Will definitely be recommending and coming back again!!
A nice pub with good ales and great food. Friendly and helpful staff. Nice decor, comfy seating areas with various themes. Defo recommend.
