Ate here for the first time on a Saturday afternoon & it was a lovely experience. The dining hall is big, open & spacious with high ceilings & big doors that open to an outside seating area which is great on a sunny day like when we went. The menu is fantastic as is the food, drinks menu also excellent. Staff were great, very young staff but very polite & attentive. Definitely recommend a visit & will be going again soon to try their Sunday lunch

I came here midweek with my partner for a meal for our two year anniversary. We were immediately impressed with the interior and feel of the place. It has a lovely bar and comfy seating for a quick pint before our meal. The bar staff and waitress were both very welcoming and friendly. Me and my partner both shared a scallops starter and had fillet steak each for the main. The Scallops and accompanying veg were beautifully presented and equally tasty! Both our stakes were cooked perfectly (rare and medium rare) and again very tasty. Overall it was a fantastic dining experience and made a special night even more special.

Delicious food and cosy environment - feels more special than a chain pub, so we often book a table for birthdays and it never disappoints. You pay a little more for the food, but it's worth it. Dog friendly in the bar area, which is just as nice as the restaurant bit.

Beautiful pub and restaurant, lovely loos, fab service. Bit pricey: £67 for two courses and soft drinks excluding service (2 people). Menu looks creative and exciting. We shared starters and mains and gave full feedback to the staff. Essentially, one starter and one main just didn't quite work. Satay wasn't very peanut flavoured, more creamy. Tasty, but not what we expected from the menu. Thai green curry pie wasn't remotely spicy, and didn't work with mash, veg, and red wine gravy. We both felt that we'd return to try other dishes, and both felt that the outdoor seating would be nice to try in warmer weather.

Lovely meal, presented nicely. Reasonable sized portions. Mother's day meal. My only complaint is the price. £140 for 3. one being a 96 years old lady. Okay we knew the price but it's a Sunday roast at the end of the day. Starter was a nice small floret of cauliflower in a satay sauce. And the cheese board rather lacking I just feel that yes it's a place that has invested heavily with an extension and great staff out front. But the place being only 1/3 full. Says heaps! Maybe I'm unfair but it's an expensive Sunday roast at the end of the day. And where's the real ales.

We popped in for lunch on Saturday and were all happily surprised at how good the food, service and place was. I could not fault a thing. Absolutely fantastic. Would highly recommend a visit here for some beautiful food and very reasonably priced for the quality of food. We will definitely be back.

Now then two of our oldest friends brought us for lunch on Sunday 3 March. The environment is constantly warm, welcoming and comfortable. The staff team are excellent. First class customer service. Very well displayed. The food is simply stunning. Presentation, design, texture and taste in all three courses are highly commendable. And you gave us time to talk over coffee without chasing us out. Thank you we had a first class visit on all three key core counts. Geoff and Steve

The best Sunday dinner we have had for ages. Lovely dining area and not cramped. Friendly staff, who were professional. The food was delicious, good potion size and hot. Good menu choice too.

This is a very high quality village pub offering a wide range of seating options with excellent food and beers. We were a party of 8 yet were all served quickly by courteous staff. We unanimously agreed that everything was spot on, particularly the food, which was above your typical pub fayre. Very highly recommend.

We called in here for the toilet, then decided to get something to eat, it was beautiful inside, my friend went to the toilet and I was seated by a most polite waiter, who brought the menus, and a bottle of ice cold water from the fridge, which was very welcome, I looked at the menu and saw A'la Carte, and immediately thought this is not going to be a normal lunch, on looking at the menu, my mouth started yum yum at what I could have, my friends returned, looked at the menu and I knew they thought the same, so I said right we have come out for a special lunch, so we picked our choices which were..... Starters...... Ginger Marinated Pigeon Breast Prawn Cocktail (Bloody Mary Sauce) Duck Liver & Brandy Pate. Mains..... Slow Braised Beef Cheek Homemade Suet Pie with Triple cooked chips. Ceasar Salad, Boiled skin Potato and side of Fresh Salmon These meals were out of the world, the taste sublime, the presentation amazing, worth every penny, the service was amazing, the dish I had, Slow Braised Beef Cheek was awarded the 2 Rosette Award, and I could see why..... we couldn't manage the pudding menu, on paying the bill it came to just under £90, so £30 each, was delighted with the price for such beautifully served tasteful food, it was only a few days before it cost me £80 for a takeaway curry at my son's house, The Griffin would win hands down everytime, you need to go here and sample the delicious food and ambience of The Griffin, we will definitely be going back, and maybe make it a cheeky night away in the hotel too.

Lovely place. Tasteful decor. Didn't eat there this time around but did enquire about gluten-free options which we have been advised they have many. Had an ale or two. Relaxing atmosphere with a warm ambiance.

1st time dining at the Griffin and I am impressed. The decor, clientele and food is excellent, as well as the service. My only suggestion, is the service for aperitifs could of been a little quicker. All of our table of five enjoyed it and will be returning very soon.
