A hidden gem behind an somewhat unassuming sign!
Popped in for the first time on Wednesday after a recommendation from a South African colleague. The staff and other customers were really friendly and welcoming. The art was interesting, they sell a range of African food products at the front of the cafe, including frozen minced meat, Russian sausages, koeksisters and drinks. I gather the frozen stuff sells pretty fast!
I had a rooibos latte and bobotie for the first time ever and my partner had a small South African breakfast with boerewors, bacon, egg and toast. The rooibos latte was great, very tasty - it’s really nice to find a caffeine free hot drink option and I’d definitely have one again. Bobotie is a fruity curry with raisins and topped with egg and it was absolutely delicious - the minced meat was really moist and tasty and I liked the egg on the top and the sambal salad.
Took two slices of lemon drizzle cake home with us (absolutely great cake) and a lemon/lime/ginger tart which I’ve yet to try!
Wow fantastic place when you are missing home. Went with my hubby & cousin for lunch. Fabulous people, scrumptious food & well priced. Spent too much buying goodies to bring home but it was worth it.
We have ordered South African treats for various occasions and they have always been delicious and ready on time. When calling in at the shop to find a little taste home, we are always met with a warm South African welcome and leave with far more than we came in for.
Delicious food! Best bunny chow I have ever had!! Friendly service, always a good laugh abd a chat. Most importantly comforting favourites that make missing home a little easier.
Lovely, friendly staff always prepared to go the extra mile if you need something specific. Great food at very reasonable prices too. Always get my South African stock here.
Our favorite place to go. The food is so yummy and reminds us of home. Service out of this world, Genuine! When we walk in there it is like family. We love The Indaba Hut Cafe. Thank you.

Their milktart, peppermint tart and chocolate milkshakes are always yummy and as an added bonus we get to take some lovely s.a goodies home.

our favourite Thursday lunch place, the ladies here are lovely, foods perfection , the bobotie, and bunny chow are beautiful , even had ham egg and chips amazing,but my favourite is the jacket spud , simple but yummy
Such a friendly place to go - everyone made welcome. The cakes are far too nice :-). Nice quiet retreat upstairs.
