I came across this delightful inn on Trivago and booked a single room for the nigh, as I was visiting my daughter in Nottingham. Although the only point I went into the bar was to book in. I met Gilly who showed me the facilities available for me to use and gave me a list of things such as emergency numbers and wifi codes and most importantly, my room. The room itself was exactly what I had booked, a single. It was comfortable and had a TV, mini kettle (with tea, coffee and sugar) and mini fridge plus a wardrobe. I literally only paid £25 for a nights stay, which I found excellent value for money. Enjoyed my stay and I definitely recommend.

3 of us stayed here for 1 week , upon arrival manager greeted us and showed us to our rooms which were clean tidy and comfortable. We had a drink in bar every evening and found all staff pleasant and beer good. Excellent selection of real ales and lagers. Although only sandwiches pies and pasties available at bar there's plenty of takeaways and a co-op nearby within walking distance.

Excellent over night stay here. It exceeded our expectations in terms of comfort and cleanliness. Really good value for money. We had two rooms. One with double bed one with twin beds. Both were very comfortable. Bonus of Pizza night in the pub below too.. delicious! Very little noise from the pub and the shared bathroom was more that adequate. Friendly staff and a great little walk nearby in the Erewash valley should you want some fresh air and exercise!

First visit her on Friday. Stagg extremely friendly and genuine, not forced friendliness. Great selection of beers. Was very busy, but no screaming or shouting by anyone, just nice people having nice conversations. Would highly recommend and we will be returning often.

Not usually into Real Ale pubs, but needed accommodation for a weekend whilst working locally. Brilliant range of beers, well kept and served by really friendly staff. Loved the sausage rolls. Will be returning the next time I'm in the area.
