Restaurant is a little on a shabby side and in need of an update/refresh but the service was outstanding and very well organized. Was a busy Sunday carvery we went for and food was hot and extremely tasty. Staff were very helpful and welcoming. I’d definitely recommend if you like a traditional, no frills family friendly venue. Lovely peaceful location and a safe grass play area for kids and toddlers. Also an outdoor terrace. Well-behaved dogs welcome too.

Great one night stay. Such a friendly welcome here and the staff were all really helpful. The room was a good size and the bed really comfortable. Importantly everything in the rooms was spotless. I had dinner and the homemade steak pie and chips was yummy. Just a shame I had to leave before breakfast. I’ll definitely stay again when I’m in the area. Highly recommended.

A large group of us visited for a meal, and a few drinks! It’s a nice little place out of the way. The staff are super friendly. The food we ordered was delicious. Everything from steaks, gammon, fish and chips to roast dinners all cooked perfectly.

Lovely modern rooms in a very quiet area, the restraunt food is absolutely wonderful, you can travel far and wide and you wont find such good traditional British home cooked food at these prices. The Lamb and mint pie is a family favourite of ours, and a rare treat to find 4 different lamb dishes available on the menu. Highly recommended overall. Andy and team well done a pillar of the community.

Came for dinner for the first time in a while. I had forgotten how lovely the food is, and how generous the portions. The chips were homemade and delicious, gammon cooked to perfection and the desserts, well suffice it to say my treacle sponge would have fed four people and it was a portion for one! I may need to run a marathon to burn the calories now but boy it was worth it. Most certainly won't be leaving coming back so long next time. Thanks for the great service team!

This is the perfect place for a quick stopover. We arrived after the usual check in time but we were given clear instructions on how to access our room. The room was perfectly clean and warm. There was plenty of tea, coffee and milk available. The bathroom was spotless too. Not the biggest of rooms, but ample for a short stay. Breakfast was freshly cooked and great service was provided by friendly staff. Would recommend and will stay again when in the area.

Loved it! The grounds were lovely and peaceful, and very close to where my daughter lives, so ideal. When we entered the reception we were greeted by friendly smiling staff, oh, and a lovely dog. My wife and I were shown to our room (Room 4), comfy, clean and quiet. My Son who came up with us, he had Room 10, and he equally found his room comfortable. The bar was very relaxing and served by very friendly staff. Breakfast was good, all the usual fayre....again, served by warm and friendly staff. I would recommend this hotel, which is born out by how quick rooms are booked! Lovely stay, thank you.

This review is about the helpful staff at this establishment. Unfortunately we broke down whilst dropping off our aunty and without their willingness to help and patience on a cold morning we would never of got back to London yesterday. Hospitality 10/10 Service 10/10 Everything 10/10

Let me start by saying that as a single female traveller, I should have Googled location and checked opening times more thoroughly, so in a big part, it's my own fault I wasn't 100% happy. I presumed a pub would be open until late - my mistake. The owner was lovely and friendly on the phone when she called to let me know the kitchen had closed and they'd have left by the time my sat nav was saying I'd arrive (9pm on a Tuesday) so she gave me the door code and would leave my key to the room inside. Approaching it took me to an almost dead end before a sharp left in a dark, remote feeling part of a village. One street light appeared and then the pub. There were only a couple of other cars in the car park and I felt very nervous. I let myself in, to be thankfully greeted by 3 other guests, and went to my room, which was clean and comfortable. There was a nice note, to call a number if I needed anything, but I didn't want to disturb at 10pm when I realised there wasn't a hairdryer in the room. I left at 8.15am, seeing nobody. Breakfast was included, but I had no idea where that was served. It served the purpose of a clean bed for the night, but I do wish I'd realised no one would be there as it did make me feel vulnerable and had I known, I wouldn't have booked as a solo traveller. But if you're a couple, or if it was Summer (so not pitch dark), I'm sure it'd be nice Just check the closing times if you want a drink :-)
