This is one of my favourite restaurants. The food is beyond delicious at reasonable prices too. The restaurant is quite small inside though but cosy and always clean. The staff are friendly and can't do enough for you. I have been here on many different occasions and haven't been disappointed yet.

Really good and authentic Indian food at very cheap prices. Is also a BYOB which makes it cheaper and convenient. Unfortunately the smells from the kitchen filter through the whole restaurant so get ready to leave the place smelling like a lovely curry!

It was great. Went there for dinner with a friend and the food was very tasty. Slow cooked tender lamb on the bones, with really long grained rice, served with a vegetable stew and hayran Yoghurt. Very neat and tidy surroundings, free parking in the street. Kind server kept asking if we were OK and enjoying the food, what else can one ask for in a restaurant? I recommend the place.

A work colleague was keen to introduce me to this great little restaurant. We brought a few drinks of our own and sat down to an array of delicious main courses. I then ordered the very hot Punjabi as a take away for my wife and she still mentions it as one of the best balanced spicy curries she had.. Thanks Smiffy!!

Fantastic value place serving excellent, consistently high-quality food for a low price. Friendly, no-fuss service in a classic old restaurant. One of my favourites, which is why I go back VERY often!

Shabab Nan Kebab is a very unique place. It's Bring your own booze so that's always a great bonus, with a polish off license next door providing anything you might need (or you could just go to a supermarket beforehand). There is a wide range of curries and some vegetarian curries too if you don't eat meat. The prices come to around 20 pounds per person (Starter, rice, naan, and a curry), so not the cheapest thing in the world but the food really is delicious. The spice rating is somewhat interesting as some 3 star spice rating curries are completely different levels of spice. The staff are good and friendly, and like to talk to you if you're in a large group. The place itself isn't very big however and there's only one toilet (which is well kept) so if that's a problem for you then yeah. Most importantly the curry is absolutely delicious and they have good portion sizes! I personally recommend the lamb Rogan Josh.

Been going there for years and it is always fantastic. However, it has been closed for 7 months so I can't see how the previous reviewer could possibly have been there a month ago ?? Given the current situation, and the challenging size of the venue, I will not be surprised it never re-opens, although that would be a huge disaster for all the many regulars

Amazing food, ridiculously cheap prices, you can take your own booze and the service is brilliant. We now go almost every week and have converted all of our friends into Shabab lovers.

As other reviews have commented: great food, friendly staff and reasonable prices. It was our first time for at least 15 years and little has changed!

Always great food at a more than reasonable price. One of the best curry houses around I think and worth travelling from Derby for. Say no more.
