Fab cosy pub. We had our family Sunday lunch yesterday. Friendly efficient service. Catered for vegetarians on the Sunday lunch menu, with a tasty veggie Wellington -which is always a big thumbs up. (Omitting the meat always makes me feel a little ripped off) Dog friendly in the bar area and happily catered for 8 of us in there so I could bring him along! Highly recommend! I'll be back at Christmas when I'm home from York.

The Sunday roast baguettes are superb. Service is efficient, staff are very friendly. Always finish our cockapoo group walks here. They are unfazed by just how many cockapoo’s and their owners can squeeze into the bar when it starts to rain, and still leave room for other customers. If you read this post make a point of visiting it is a great pub, either on good weather or bad weather.

Lovely cosy 'proper' pub. Dogs welcome, fabulous food by a roaring fire and a good pint. Plenty of seating in the restaurant and bar area. This pub also takes card payments at the bar unlike the Dixies arms down the road.

Took my grandchildren for lunch in the sun. The food for us all was lovely can’t wait to go back next week!! The children’s food was plentiful and they loved all the outside swings, slides etc.

Went out for a meal and my first visit. Ample free parking and a great garden to sit in with lots of space and play area for kids. Sun was out all evening which was nice. Visited on a Tuesday steak night which was great value. I had a mixed grill and prawns to start. Service and food were excellent. Definitely worth a trip out for food or a drink in the sunshine.

TLDR: my GF and I wanted good unpretentious food in a nice place and that's what we got, with excellent value for money. The ribs I had from the specials board were excellent; the sauce was not too sweet as you often get, there was a decent amount of meat on the ribs and there were plenty of them. They were accompanied with good chips, coleslaw and salad, and for £16 which is pretty good these days (I've paid lots more for nowhere near as good). The pub itself is a nice old building with a garden, and dogs are welcome. It's just 5 minutes from J27 of the M1. We got there in 25 minutes from Nottingham NG5. Note, The Google says they are closed on Mondays, but if it's a bank holiday it's worth calling to check as they were open today (which is a Bank Holiday Monday)

First time visiting during the day, only been for an evening meal before. There was 5 of us, we didn't book however this wasn't issue. Pub owner gave us the choice of where to sit & was prompt with drinks. Menu choice, though limited was varied & all sounded delicious. Food was freshly prepared & cooked, not long to wait & was very happily received. No complaints from any of us! Will definitely be going back for lunch

Sunday dinner today x a bit more expensive than the average but I am always dissapointed with the average x this was absolutely 💯 can't really fault anything we'll worth the money. Massive plates and very very generous amounts of 5 meats available today.veg all fresh and cooked properly, nothing soggy or dry.we were all impressed and left saying we would be back

Called in for lunch on Thursday. Was aware there were new owners so thought we'd give it a try. We weren't disappointed. The food was excellent and so was the friendly service. I loved the menu which had just enough choice. I had the liver which was delicious and my wife tried the hot beef crusty ciabatta which she also enjoyed. Will definitely be returning.

My partner and I decided to pop in for a date night on the recommendation from a couple.of friends. The place has a lovely cosy welcoming ambience and we were greeted warmly by the staff on arrival. We were shown to our table and our drinks order was taken straight away.we opted for a starter each and decided on the 2 steaks for £35 and a bottle of wine for £15. Apart from my chicken goujon starter, which disappointingly was overcooked, dry and tough, the mains were outstanding (we both had the 10oz sirloin with peppercorn sauce). The staff were attentive and pleasant throughout (sorry I didn't catch any of your names). We'd definitely return to this quaint cosy pub again, but I'd perhaps try a different starter next time.

Thought we would give it a try and turned out it was there first night of reopening. Excellent food and quick service considering it was packed. Servers could be more knowledgeable but hey it was first night. Great atmosphere will definitely be back. Beer gardens and play area look great for summer visits.

Came in with 3 others, ordered 3 lamb dinners and a lamb and pork roast. Food was brought out and to my pleasant surprise, our 3 lamb dinners had the extra of an assortment of meat; however, we just ordered lamb. The food was amazing, but the one thing that let it down was staff on their phones constantly and upon my visit to the toilet, following suit to the assortment of meats, I was greeted with what only I could describe as a Picasso painting, tissue on the walls, cobwebs hanging and two toilet roll rubes behind the cubicle door with some interesting art work on, that has been for as long I've frequented which has now been 3 months. Overall, food was excellent, drinks were reasonably priced, but the cleanliness let it down.
