The food was nice and the staff were friendly. I had the steak and ale pie which was tastey. We called in on a Saturday with a party of 5 and we had to wait around 10mins to be seated. So it can get busy and you may prefer to book. There is a large outdoor area as well which would be nice in the summer. Dog friendly pub and they also serve some doggy dishes.

Good atmosphere and attentive staff . The food is acceptable but nothing much to wow you. I had the Atlantic cod, chips and mushy peas with a side of scampi and bread and butter. I've had far worse, but at nearly £20 expected a little better.

Went for breakfast bank holiday Monday, by far the best breakfast we've had out for a very long time. Staff were wonderful and very accommodating, friendly and impeccable service. As we couldn't decide between full English or pancakes we asked if we could order off the little ones menu that way we could have both and not be pigs, it wasn't a problem. Quality of produce, and flavour of everything was superb. We will definitely be coming back.

It is a nice place for some breakfast, has nice view, good service and pleasant interior. Food was okay, my smoked salmon and egg was a little too plain, sour cream seemed like had no dill, i couldn't taste it or see it in the sauce and it just felt like whole dish is missing some seasoning. My friends pancakes were nice! Both dishes looked appealing and latte was okay too.

My sister and I took our mum out for lunch yesterday for her 93rd birthday to The Travellers Rest. We booked in advance as it gets quite busy. ( I think you have me down name wise, as I just said !) We tend to share everything as our mum eats like a bird but that wasn't a problem. The sharing board was lovely and so were the trio of puddings. Layla was our server throughout the meal and took time to make sure we were well looked after and even altered an item on the sharing board so it was more suitable for our taste. We normally go to garden centres with mum but the lovely surroundings of The Travellers Rest and the wonderful service and food mean we now have another option. Thanks Linda Davies

We had a lovely lunch here today. Great setting, food and service. A good selection of vegan options too which was very welcome. Would love a vegan Yorkshire pud next time I come though 😉. We were served by Hannah who was excellent. Thank you!

It’s a nice place to stop and have a bite to eat and drink. Bar snacks are better both in quality and value than the main menu. Beer is very expensive but as its a drive to and from place, that’s not normally too much of an off put

The food heres very nice, and the location is lovely. The service time can be pretty slow at times, though. I will still definitely be going back

Food was great and an excellent choice from the chef's specials. But disappointed with service. Efficient and not slow but it was the manner of delivery. Never actually saw the bill just told how much it was and the receipt.

Went on a Friday evening for a date night, the chef specials are amazing, definitely the best meal I’ve had here but they never disappoint, speedy service and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. A regular favourite for me and my partner😊

Visited here for Sunday lunch with a group of 4 others. Service was attentive and friendly without being over the top. Really quick as well despite being busy. Food ticked all boxes across all 6 guests. Sunday dinner (3 meats) is brilliant! Beef a little tough, but I do get that's down to choice. Lots of drinks to choose from, albeit rather pricey (as are all Greene Kings), still went down well! The setting is beautiful & we cannot wait to go back and sit outside in the summer.

My wife and I had the meat and fish sharer. Then the lambshank pie followed by the salted caramel sundae for dessert. Every morssal was delicious. The service was also very good. The girls were courteous and friendly. The whole experience was delightful and then to get a blue light discount too made it even better. We'll done everyone. I would recommend the Travellers to anyone.

Nice restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. We turned up about 12pm on a Sunday without reservation and managed to get a table but it was a bar table so had no table service but wasn't too bad. It got very busy at about 12:30pm. So careful going without a reservation The staff were friendly and welcoming. The food was nice. The only downside was the Sunday roasts say they come with the sauces but they don't, so didn't get any apple for the pork or horseradish for the beef. All in all, a very nice meal.

Very nice lunch time meal. Layla our server was polite and told us while seating of any items missing off the menu so we didn't start looking at them. There was a problem with the cider I ordered but this was quickly fix by our server.

Nice food considering it is a chain. We had a brunch just before Christmas and we were greeted by Santa who had presents for the children. The service was very good and the staff were all very nice and friendly. Definitely worth a visit and you may well have to book as it is popular at weekends etc.

Amazing dog friendly place. Easily booked a table with short notice on a Sunday for Dinner. Was busy but not too busy, the service is quick and friendly, the food is always very high quality.
