What a lovely place and meal. We had a lovely time with the taster menu. 9 courses of very different and tasty dishes. From the popadom and sourdough crisp-bread “snacks” to the palette cleanser orange sherbet, each course was delicious. We opted not to have the companion drinks, so the 9 courses were £65, which was incredibly good value for such high quality and taste. Each course was very beautifully presented and incredibly tasty.

Restaurant recommends 3 plates for each person. Then we ordered 7 small plates for two people plus 2 desserts afterward.

Even though food tasted mostly very strong and felt a bit thirsty later on but it was a good lunch indeed.

We were expecting the portions to be small, but they weren't at all!
The best thing about it is it's all vegan! I'm not vegan but my friend is and it was so nice for her to have to worry about accidentally being spiked with animal products.
The food is so filling and is a real treat for the senses.
The staff were also super nice and attentive.
We would definitely recommend and will definitely be coming back!
My husband and I had a wonderful lunch at this hidden-gem and I can say this is the best plant-based restaurant we've been to by far. We appreciated all dishes are made of all vegetables and no meat substitutes and the chef brought out the best flavours and textures from them - which isn't easy to find. We had focaccia and pickles for starters. The pickles was so pretty and taste very lovely. My husband loved the mash and I loved the satay cauliflower. The rest of the dishes were equally impressive in terms of flavours, quality, creativity and craft. All dishes came in good portion (3 dishes to share between 2 are enough for a light lunch but we went for 4). Chocolate & matcha ganache tart was rich but just right level of sweetness & dark chocolate and perfect for sharing.
The only feedback is the flavours were on a sweeter side - a tad too sweet for our preference but otherwise brilliant.
It is worth noting great service. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. Great selection of wine. Despite being a small restaurant, it felt cosy, bright and private. I'd highly recommend everyone to dine here if visiting Nottingham and I'd very much want to eat here again if I go to Nottingham next time x

I went for the 5 course on valentines at £50pp Food was very nice and well presented however I do feel like it lacked a little on flavour and I was chasing a unique kick to the dishes! For the price I’d like something a touch more extravagant.
I also found the table service way too quick the dishes were being collected whilst still chewing my last mouthful and the next plate would land before I could blink! This kind of ruined the experience for us on valentines as it felt so rushed and we had a bottle of red to get through!
A nice restaurant with great potential I just don’t think the price reflects the overall experience. With the service charge, carbon charge and our food, we spent £150 and was out just over an hr!
Very impressed with the skill of the cooking at n.o 12 the risotto, bhaji, bao and mushrooms were amazing. I'm not vegan but some of the dishes like the risotto were so savoury and well balanced they tasted as good as any other fine dining dish I've had. For me the satay was underwhelming, the spicing was to subtle and there was no taste of nuts
the service and atmosphere were great. The staff were sufficiently informal that you could relax but they were still very efficient and attentive. We felt very welcome.
Unfortunately I really dislike the small plates concept I wish there was the option to have a full sized risotto or mushroom pasta for instance. Shared 5 dishes with my partner and I wasn't really full afterwards. We could have got another dish but I personally would prefer to share two starters then just have one well balanced dish.
We finally managed to get over to No12 after years of waiting for the opportunity! (From York) The decor and ambiance was beautiful, service was excellent and the drink selection was absolutely perfect. We opted for the tasing menu with drinks pairing. (My drink highlight being the pickled ginger and yuzu cocktail) We had very high expectations for the meal, but my god, it exceeded those expectations. The food was outstanding, unbelievable flavours and presentation, their next stop must be a Michelin star. And no, we didn’t miss meat nor dairy. Stop what you’re doing and book a table.
This restaurant is definitely worth a visit! The food was fantastic, and we enjoyed everything we ordered. The tiramisu dessert was a standout; it was incredibly delicious. The chocolate quenelle was particularly noteworthy, with its smooth texture and subtle hint of salt that added depth to the flavor. Paired with the cream, it was a delightful combination that we thoroughly enjoyed. It was the best tasting dessert I've ever had.
Wonderful food created thoughtfully and lovely presentation. Definitely a gourmet plant based experience! The Camembert is fabulous as are the hencloud mushrooms. We will go again for sure. Back for a second time this time for dinner… just wonderful… beautiful and delicious, nice wine and quite sophisticated dining experience- definitely a new favorite.
Super meal here for our anniversary. Food was all fantastic, beautifully presented and delicious. Staff were friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. We had the tasting menu which was good value for money and great wine pairing. A very wide selection of lesser known wines which were paired perfectly with each course. Our only criticism (and this is being very very picky!) is that the cutlery wasn't as high quality as everything else!
