Anniversary Meal. This restaurant is the best one iv been to, my boyfriend took me there for our 2year anniversary, the food was fab i ordered steak and it was cooked to perfectly also the sauce that was with it was divine, they have a wide choices of dishes on there menu, the desert i had with was chocolate torte was lovely, staff are friendly and helpful. All in all a great restaurant.
Tried to return to this excellent cheap eat bistro but the queues were out the door. Shame you can't reserve a table. It's first come first serve and the waiting area is tiny.
Very good service. A really nice meal. The steak I ordered was cooked to perfection. All for a very reasonable price
Had a lovely meal, porc roti aux pommes was amazing, best pork dish o have ever had! Food came quickly compared with most resturants, all in all lovely experience would recommend to anyone.
We had a great anniversary meal here! The lamb was awesome and the mousse au chocolat was really tasty :-)
Excellent value Great food.. Best value for lunch in Notts by far. A simple french Bistro Menu executed well for a reasonable price. Friendly staff, great service. Reasonable winelist. Has won a number of awards locally. I go everytime I'm in town.
Le Bistro Pierre describe the Soirée Gastronomique menu as ‘These specially designed menus embrace all that’s great about dining in France – hearty and robust provincial cooking, great variety and outstanding value” . Well that all sounds quite promising. The first course was the “Soupe à l’oignon” described as ‘French onion soup with Gruyère croutons.’ This was some of the best French onion soup I have had for quite some time, I have a vague possible somewhat romantic memories of some that I ate in the falling snow on an Alpine slope some years ago, and thinking about it this may well have been it’s equal. The soup had a deep rich onion flavour which permeated throughout the light thin onion broth. Thick slic
First ate lunch here in 2005. It was fab then as it was recently. The food was amazing and a great choice for a lunch 3 course. £20.
I give 4 starts, but I'd say 4.5 as it was warm, but not HOT. But delicious. The chocolate mousse was excellent.
My guests also thoroughly enjoyed their meals. We will return.
Visited today with my sister and my uncle. We hadn’t pre booked but they managed to get us in a bit later in the afternoon. We did a bit of shopping and went back. The food was lovely, not all of us had the set menu and we were all impressed with the food we were served. The calamari was so tasty! The service was great 👍. I had a side order of dauphinoise potatoes, unfortunately they were extremely salty so I dropped a star for this. All in all, we had a really lovely time. Thank you
I went here for my birthday and let me tell you, this has to be the best restaurant in all of Nottingham, and I’ve been to quite a few. The staff were pleasant, the atmosphere and the decor were lively, and the food was absolutely incredible.
I’ve paid far more for far worse. This is the place to beat.
In hindsight, a reservation at 14:00 on a Friday was an inspired choice. The restaurant was absolutely throbbing on arrival but soon emptied, leaving us with for a relaxed lunch.
We both ate from the "Three courses for £20.95, plus a pint/glass of wine for £3.50" menu:
Starter - Calamari with garlic aioli.
Main - Boeuf Bourguignon
Dessert - Crème Brûlée (obviously!)
All great flavours. The starter and dessert were up there with the best, the main was a lovely cuddle of comfort food.
Pleasant, characterful service. This wouldn't have been my choice for lunch, but I'm delighted we came, and will do so again.
Quick service, nice food. The tables are quite tightly packed so you are sat close to other people. Rump steak was a bit gristly, but the fries were very nice. Would highly reccomended the crème brûlée
Really friendly and professional staff and a nice atmosphere. Food is generally very good and excellent value. Perfect place for a pre theatre meal (although you need to arrive at 17:30 as it gets busy and can be a little slow). Highly recommended.
I came here with my sister for lunch on a Friday lunch time mid half term.
I booked my table online, which was very smooth and only took a couple of minutes. When we arrived it was quite busy but we were given a great table. Our orders were taken quickly, with the food arriving quickly too. They did miss out on some money however as we intended to order the cheeseboard alongside our mains, but they said we couldn't until later, which we never ended up doing.
Overall a great place with nice food for a decent price, very worth it during a day out.
Our favourite restaurant. We were served throughout the evening by the manageress, Princess, herself. She went the extra mile for us, even took the time to take family photos throughout our celebration and really made it very special for us. Thank you, Princess ! The food was fabulous, and always is everytime we go. Lovely French ambience ...the only pity is that no staff speaks French at all - it is after all a French restaurant and I think it would have just added that final French touch and atmosphere. But we will certainly be back.
I arrived to a full and bustling restaurant at dinner time without a booking. The maître d' was so charming by welcoming me anyway and immediately cleared a table for me.
This was the beginning of a truly memorable experience.
The waitrons were busy but friendly which just added to the atmosphere.
The meal was superbly delicious. Thank-you Chef!
Will definitely be back.
Went for the offer they have on regularly. Good service and lovely food.
A truly French atmosphere from the moment you walk in. Friendly staff, fantastic choice, and all food freshly cooked. On street parking only. A great end to my sons graduation day! You will not be disappointed.
The staff were so friendly and helpful. The food was nice and simple. The atmosphere was quite. The food was so nice. My favourite was the sticky toffee pudding. Its to die for, if you go for anything, go for that!
Lovely food, great friendly service.
We sadly had to ask for quick service, as we didn't have time to linger, and they were very quick.
The only strange thing was seeing VAT added on top of the advertised food prices and VAT on the service charge! So the prices were actually 20% more than on the menu!
The food was delicious, and the wine matched perfectly. The red wine was served at the correct temperature, too!
Rare in many restaurants! We weren't pestered or rushed by staff, but they were attentive. Excellent atmosphere. We'll definitely be back.
One of the must-visit restaurants in Nottingham! Exceptionally tasty menu, great atmosphere, very friendly and kind staff.
Many options to satisfy everyone, fair prices and awesome menu deals with 2,3 or 6 courses!
Their signature beef is a must but everything tasted wonderful.
Highly recommended!
Craving for some good food, I been very surprised to find this central bistro. The place was crowded and I recommend you to book a table before you are at their door.
The staff was very friendly and careful arranging the table after each meal, asking you for more drinks, I was very impressed of them.
The food was good, the flavours were spot on, the only negative remark is that the beef was overcooked, even for a slow cooked dish, was kind of mushy weird texture here and there.
The sorbet was fantastic and I do recommend you to go for it.
