Nice and cosy little place for breakfast/brunch in Nottingham City Centre. The meals are delicious with massive portion sizes - pancakes make it extra filling. Although the atmosphere was a bit cramped, it was lovely and well decorated.
We ordered the following:
•The Full Pantry (with extra egg)
•Ham Hock Hash (with extra eggs)
•Apple Crumble
•Homemade Chai
Major downside is the service which can be extremely slow when busy - was ignored by some staff who avoided eye contact. The other staff were quite welcoming though. Nevertheless, worth a visit for the experience and I would go again, maybe at a quieter time!
Lee and George were brilliant and made sure we were looked after. We had the bottomless afternoon tea and it was delicious! Not your typical afternoon tea as they had pastries and quiche as well as sandwiches. The Prosecco was left with us so we could top up as much as we liked throughout our 90 minutes (we weren’t rushed out at the end). Could also have tea alongside it if we wanted.
We both really enjoyed it and would go back!
Would definitely recommend booking in advance especially for weekends.
Gave 4 stars for atmosphere as it was a bit cramped!
If you want to have a late brunch this chain is serving after 4pm brunch which other restaurants in Notts don’t do.
The food is nice but not the best I’ve had
However beverages are very good
Good value for quantity
There is always some waiting time but the waiters are very kind and quick.
Food was nice and the pancakes are really fluffy, just wish everything was served hotter as the food went cold really fast. Place is nicely decorated but a bit cramped and they play music so it can get quite loud.
We really enjoyed our brunch here! Delicious hot drinks & pancakes. Definitely worth a visit! Atmosphere was lovely and well decorated. Will definitely be coming back!
Please bear in mind, when busy, you may have to wait outside for a table to become available. This was no issue to us but if you’re impatient like the woman in front of us, maybe go at a quieter time. She made a rude comment as we entered that we were seated before her. This is because she was waiting for a table for 4 to become available when we only needed a table for 2. Educate yourselves.
Great brunch with attentive stuff and great food! I had the pancakes with a side of bacon and a poached egg which were all cooked very well. Would recommend!
Popped in for a cup of hot chocolate only. But when entered inside, I was suddenly feeling like in cake land surrounded by many kinds of handmade pastries. I ordered a piece of delicious cake and coffee forgetting about hot chocolate. Very friendly atmosphere, and some people had American style pancakes that looked amazing. Next time will try their pancakes.
The Pudding Pantry is a little gem slightly hidden from the main Trinity Square area by being down a connecting leg towards TK Max. However, search for it because the food is fantastic. The setting is wonderful with the feel of an old fashioned eatery with outdoor as well as indoor seating, and attentive but not over bearing staff but the real star is the food.
I had the Pantry breakfast & what a feast - country sausage, streaky bacon, eggs your way (I had scrambled), on-vine roasted tomatoes, garlic mushrooms, home made beans and 2 fluffy, delicious American style pancakes with warm, runny maple syrup. I added a side of toast which is available in 3 flavours.
What a feast! For the eyes as well as the stomach & I can confirm that it tasted as good as it looked. One small thing that really made my meal - the salt and pepper pots were not pots but little grinders - really easy to use & just fitted with the whole easy atmosphere of the place.
My dining companions each had 4 pancakes with accompaniments and confirmed that these were the best pancakes they'd ever tasted.
We have only scratched the surface of the menu. With artisan coffee and lots of options this is a place we will be coming back to. It's not a huge place so you may have to wait a short time for a table, but the wait is worth it. Service is quick and efficient, but also very friendly. Put it on your list of places to visit in Nottingham and I doubt you'll be disappointed.
Really attentive and friendly staff. The afternoon was delicious, especially the sundried tomato and asparagus quiche and strawberry shortcake macaron. Great variety and value for money. Will definitely go back again.
I come to pudding pantry all the time as there really isn’t anywhere quite like it. The food is amazing the staff are very welcoming and the atmosphere is friendly and enjoyable.
I really recommend the pancakes and any of the cakes they are amazing.
Had brunch here with a friend. It was very busy but we got a seat although we hadn’t pre booked. The vegan breakfast was very good. I also had the chocolate and Biscoff cake which was delicious. Very good menu with lots of food choices for all dietary requirements. My only issue was watching a member of staff set the table for a baby shower and placing their hand inside of all of the cups, which in my view is unhygienic. So maybe some staff training on how to set the tables without putting your hands inside of the cups and glasses. I throughly enjoyed my food and kept me for my long journey back home.
I had the pulled pork hash. Almost perfect. The pork was seasoned sufficiently but the vegetables were not seasoned enough. If I were to add seasoning then the meat would be under seasoned.
Still recommended.
Service was fine
Great little spot for breakfast/brunch in Nottingham City Centre if you’ve got a sweet tooth like I have! I’ve been to Sherwood before but this morning was the first time me and my girlfriend visited this location. The food is amazing and you get massive portions but luckily you can box up what you can’t eat to take away. They don’t take bookings and it does get busy so bear in mind it’s worth getting in early.
First-time visitor and couldn't fault this place! I've walked past on so many occasions, seeing people queuing outside, waiting for a table. I'd ask myself "why?" and now I know!!
The servers/staff are friendly and attentative. From ordering, to the food arriving, everything was done quickly, efficiently, and with a warm and friendly demeanour.
When the food arrived, no one could fault it.....aside from saying there was actually too much!!
With drinks, we spent just of £60 for 4 people, but it was well worth it, and kept us full for the majority of the day.
One of the best breakfasts out, if not the best. Everything is delicious and the standard size breakfast is ample - pancakes make it extra filling too.
Fantastic breakfast. Great service too. Would definitely recommend it 🙂👍
