In love! In love! In love with MemSaab! In the heart of Notts, this place proved to be a gem which took all my emotions when I entered this exquisite yet desi locale!
After waiting for few minutes(though we didn't present ourselves with a prior reservation, we were decently allowed a graceful console. There was a game in my mind for food vs ambiance but you know what? Both won! Lol..
Enunciating about ambiance, it was mind blowing with low lit candle lights everywhere, the view was indeed great!
Food, I am wondering what words I need to put for it, the taste was just out of the box, similar taste to Taj Mumbai.
We ordered Saag Paneer, dal maakhni along with garlic naans! Each bite was bringing more smiles on my face as this was the best place in Notts for Indian food.
Succulent paneer cubes were so soft they were getting dissolved as soon we took them.
Dal maakhni too had indian touch with creamy gravy and perfectly boiled kidney beans!
Service was flawless, no doubt! The stewardship was quote amazing from the settlement till see off!
Very nice food, overall a truly amazing place to visit with kith n kins! #MustVisit.
Last night in Nottingham and we decided to have Indian and landed up being here. However heard of this place from students who live here and have tried and tested this place socially my brother and his family love this restaurant. Spacious, sophisticated, fine dine. The best thing about this place is hospitality. Customer satisfaction and customer service are the 2 keys things every employee of the restaurants loves by. Overall food, taste, presentation, quantity, quality everything was perfect. The Garlic Chili vegetable was yum along with cheese Chili garlic naan. The Tarka Daal is simply amazing. I would definitely want to done here again and again if I were living here.
Weary going 'desi' in the UK. The cuisine is best suited for the non-'desi' palette. However I was delightfully surprised by MemSaab, spot in prime Nottingham. Before entering, one sees the praises bestowed and awards won. But the test of the 'kadhai' is in the taste.
It started with a seafood and meats tandoori platter and they had me from start. The lightly flavoured minty grilled prawns were terrific. So was the salmon, handsomely flavoured. The lamb chops were perfect as were the kebabs. I'd definitely recommend Memsaab for its starters. They have a fine selection of wines, malts and beers.
The other stars on the dining table were the chicken 'kadhai' - certainly a full bodied preperation. The prawns in a tomato-garlic gravy were just fine as was dal makhni. The pulao didn't find favour with me. It could have been elevates to an elitist rice dish with a little more spicing; an aromatic bay leave and clarified butter go a long way.
The other big highlight is that the staff run the extra mile if you have come to dine with child. The hot chocolate didn't really feature on the menu, but when my son wanted some, he sure got some.
On my #BurpAndBelch meter: 4.5
#5WordFoodReview: Nottingham Gets Spicier With MemSaab
There are many Indian restaurants in Nottigham, however very few places give good food, one of those places is memsaab.
The menu is planned very creatively and the dishes sound very attractive. I had the venision kebab for starter and kashmiri chicken as main, both dishes were very well spiced and were full of flavour.
The kebab melted in my mouth and had a very peculiar sauce inside which complimented the meat very well, my main was not as good as the starter I felt that it required more spice, also it had an excessive amount of oil. To end my meal I ordered one portion of gulab jamun with vanilla bean ice-cream, it was presented very well and was very nice.
All in all memsaab is a good place for Indian food, one of the finer Indian restaurants.
Went the other night. Wait staff were courteous & attentive. Food was outstanding. Could not recommend it higher. Best Indian food in notts by far.
It is a great place to eat the service is fantastic and the food is tremendos 10/10
Fantastic (and often unique) food - not quite the normal fare you usually get in an Indian. Probably my favourite place to eat in Nottingham (or at least in the top 3!)
Wonderful, definitely the best in Nottingham
Fantastic example of Indian food. Probably the best an Indian restaurant in Nottingham.
Superb one of the top Indian meals I’ve had. The Lahore lamb chops were splendid and really well flavoured. I decided on the jalfrezie with lamb and the meat just fell apart.
Great food, helpful staff (we got in at short notice on a very busy night). It's not a cheap night out, but how many times are they disappointing? Got there in time for pre food round of drinks and a main course, which was very good. Four of us had different meals, and all were excellent. Definitely return:)
Absolutely amazing atmosphere, staff and food was really tasty 😋 definitely recommending!
This was probably my second or third time to have dinner in this place and just like always the dishes served tasted great and the service was very convenient and friendly. I made an online reservation and then made a slight change on it and all was properly handled. The staff was helpful and gave recommendations on what and how much to order so we ended up with good tasty choices and no leftovers. The place offers halal food and the staff was clear in confirming this fact and highlighting one menu item only that wasn’t. So if you are looking for this type of food then this place is a good choice. Expect to pay around 30 pounds per person for a satisfactory meal.
Visiting Nottingham and searched Trip Advisor for somewhere to eat.
The food was amazing. The Kerman naan was the lightest tastiest naan I have ever eaten. The staff were attentive but not obtrusive. Had a chat with the owner on her way out. Such a lovely person.
If you are visiting Nottingham, you will not be disappointed if you visit
I went there recently and when I walked in I was hit by an Indian atmosphere and a smell of expensive perfume. When we sat down the menus were so fancy and nice. The service was really good and Quick. Overall it was a solid 9/10
Brilliant food and service as always. It has been a restaurant that I kept recommending to friends. It has the right level of customer service and food is authentic to a level that no other Indian restaurant can match. I was lucky to find this place!
Lovely food, very friendly staff against good prices! For the kids they even make chicken korma (was not on the menue). Our son loved it!
Very good service, attentive but not too much. Food was fantastic!
The ambience was beautiful, in fact I'd say the cover photo on here doesn't do it justice. The service was excellent -, genuine recommendations on sides to help us not over order for a start! Polite, professional and warm. The food was enjoyed by everyone, mostly meat eaters plus me, one vegan. As food is marked as vegetarian and/or containing dairy, I was able to pick items veggie and no dairy and then check if they were vegan which they were - based on this, there's a reasonable amount of choice. When naans were ordered for the table and I said I don't have that as it contains dairy, the waiter very politely and kindly suggested to the group to swap one of our naan portions for roti so I could have some. Everything was just wonderful, I would go back in a flash. I wish I'd taken photos... but I did take a video of the toilet, you'll see why if you watch it! Never seen this feature before hahaha!
Delicious food, a wide range of flavours and dishes to choose from. The goan fish curry was especially good as the fish was so soft and cooked perfectly. The staff are attentive and helpful.
One of the best Indian restaurant in Nottingham. Impressed with the quality of food and service. Lovely interior and verity of Indian dishes. Waiters were helpful with making recommendations.
But having said that, the menu rates are little over priced and above to that the service charge being added to the bill 10%, should be optional as most restaurants are or the menu prices should be less.
Absolutely amazing! It isn't normally somewhere within my price range as it is a little on the expensive side, but with the 50% off scheme I couldn't pass up on the chance to visit and I'm so glad I did! Excellent allergen advice on the menu, every dish is marked with allergens contained which made it super easy to order. The service was perfect, food was perfect and the atmosphere was perfect. I will definitely be saving up to visit again in the future! The butter chicken and paneer starter are unreal 😍

Without any doubt, the best Indian restaurant in Nottingham. . . Authentic taste and excellent decor. The attention to detail is extraordinary. Service wise i wasn't impressed, as few were really pleasing and friendly while the more senior staff really were not welcoming and at times looked at the guests with some attitude ! This is the one and only issue I found with the place and this really is upsetting and needs to be changed. Will I go to the restaurant again ? Definitely yes. . Just for the yummy, finger lickin food. .
Wow my mouth was in heaven, each morsel was a delight. Felt like I was about to cry with pure pleasure and ecstasy. Great décor, exceptional service and environment. Very comfortable and no rush environment to enjoy a traditional Asian food.
The only missing star is because I was in on a Sunday night and it was fairly quiet. I eat here every time I come to Nottingham. The food is so flavourful. If you enjoy quality Indian food this is the place for you
Arrived today with no reservation, happy to accommodate us. Fantastic service. Food was delicious, service was amazing. Would happily recommend!
This was work's Christmas dinner's get together. Been to MemSaab before.
I love the fact that they catered alternative main meal for me as Asian food is too spicy for me, & my steak 🥩 was cooked to my perfection 👌🏼
Enjoyed my food very much 😋🍽️
Can't fault the service of the staff👍🏼👍🏼
