Really good value and very tasty Greek / Spanish (I've never had patatas bravas or chorizo in Greece...) cuisine located in the heart of Nottingham.
We went for the 3 tapas for £7.95 lunch and it was all excellent, especially the stifado, the corguette, the lamb leaf thing and the olives. Olives are definitely worth an extra £1.50.

When I searched to find Yamas I was amazed it didn't have 100% star rating.
This restaurant is by far the most traditional and welcoming environment and humble to boot.
The staff are courteous going above and beyond to ensure you have a great night.
The food is faultless. It's fresh, authentic and good value.
My husband had never heard of Yamas when we met and I felt rather smug taking him and having him agree that it was brilliant. We've since returned on numerous occasions...literally any excuse to go as the food is devine.
My personal favourite is the lamb tagine. I won't spoil the surprise and ruin how brilliant it is by trying to explain. However if you go I highly recommend you order it. They also have tons of veggie options too. Which are all delicious.
I sadly cannot say what the desserts are like. I've never been able to have one as always full from the food and the generous portions you are given.
I will definitely go again and I would urge anyone to try it that hasn't already.
Haha, the ratings make it hard. I really liked this small and humble restaurant. It's warm, friendly, clean and very enjoyable. I visited here some months before but forgot to leave a nice review until I was craving mediterranean food. Mmmm :)
This store is A-OK! for the job. But I don't want to give it a 3 star cause that looks bad. 4 Star says "Yay, I'm a fan." But I'm not really a fan either. I just think it's delicious and courteous enough to go when you're in the mood for such food. The dishes are delicious. I don't think you will be disappointed.
We went here for my daughter's birthday and it was fantastic. We shared the meat and cheese board. I think we ordered 10 tapas for our table of 5- chicken, beef, lamb, salmon and assorted veg. Everything was delicious. The hummus was some of the best I have ever had. Even our guest who had never had Greek food was happy with everything and was going to recommend it to all of her local friends. Service was great too!
Small friendly restaurant. We booked this after seeing it on Trip Advisor, whereas TA can be misleading and hyped by the business owner, the good reviews must have been genuine. We found the food and atmosphere excellent and would recommend this to friends.
We had the meze and was lovely especially the stifado.
This place is amazing. The food is so good, Great staff and front of house..makes you feel very welcome and because it was my parents wedding anniversary came out with a free desert for us 😁 can't wait to go back.
A lovely Friday evening at Yamas! A great Greek Cypriot restaurant with amazing authentic food. We had lots of different dishes to share but I highly recommend the Lamb Souvlaki and Mousska - stunning!

Yamas Meze & Tapas restaurant is outstanding! The staff were incredibly helpful in guiding us through their menu on our first visit. The food surpassed expectations; the Chicken souvlaki, Kleftico, and Falafel were all delightful choices. Highly recommended!

The lunch meal is reasonable price, I can choose 3 Tapas. The food is wonderful, with brilliant service. They made my lunch experience great. I like the prawn served on skewers.

Superb food,service,hospitality. After working in Nottingham for a month, finally managed to get in on off chance, happen best to book for few of you. Stiffado, tasted divine,melt in mouth meat, along with the rosemary potatoes 💕 halloumi starter was lovely. Highly recommended 👌
First time visiting and my friend and I had the tapas lunch menu. There's lots to choose from and I appreciate the gluten free options that are just as tasty (also vegan). The atmosphere is warm and inviting and so are the lovely staff. Our meal was piping hot, freshly cooked and absolutely delicious. The toilets are spotless but are downstairs. We will definitely be returning.
Had a great family night out here. We love Greek food and this was pretty authentic. One of the better Greek restaurants we have tried in the UK. Service was excellent (not like Greece!) and staff were very friendly. Good selection of international wines too. Highly recommended.
This is a very surprising restaurant, aparently the place doesn't look much, a bit crowded, no design at all, nothing like the typical Grek restaurant, some of the staffs are a bit grumpy, but ok in the end..... buuuut the food is very good.
We ordered a variety of small platters that were absolutely delicious, I been pleasantly surprised.
The mains were quite large and good, but they were missing a salad, could be great to have a gyros with a bit of salad on a side, maybe they can take this comment as improvement for future menu.
The place can be quite busy at certain times of the day so if you want to dine in group is better to book a table in advance.
Not been in over 12 years but went with a friend and had a fabulous meal. Lovely portion sizes, friendly staff and reasonably priced. Definitely worth a visit and you will have a lovely time!
The food was exceptional!!! Today was my fist time at the restaurant and I am already looking forward to the next ones. There are plenty of options for vegetarians/vegans 😍 The music was a bit loud making it hard to talk to people on the other side of the table without shouting but besides that the experience was perfect. Reasonably priced lunch. We popped in here for the first time after our first choice restaurant was too busy. We got in straight away with no booking, for a Saturday afternoon this was very good. It was very busy, some waiters were nicer than others. Food took a little while (a group came in after us and got food way quicker but I think they were family or friends). Lovely halloumi fries, Patatas Bravas, and whitebait. Prawns were a small portion (two prawns each), hummus was drier than normal hummus, wasn’t keen on the orzo lasagne, but my other half enjoyed it. Pitta bread was just standard that you get from the shop. Would return again but maybe try the gyros instead.
We had our work Christmas party here last night and I just want to say a huge thank you to the Yamas team for making it a special night. The meze was incredible. The amount of food for the price is amazing and the flavours were delicious. Catered well for dietary requirements. Brilliant service. Can’t recommend it enough.
Excellent food, very friendly staff, it was a delight! The lamb was over the top good, but everything else was very delicious too. Heartily recommended!
