I frequently passed by this place and recently made a visit. I was thoroughly impressed – it's undoubtedly one of the best Indian restaurants in Nottingham. The food was incredibly flavorful, from the starters to the main course. The service was excellent too. I'm definitely planning to go back again.
EXTRAORDINARY *****
Yesterday evening on the 29th of December, my beautiful baby cutie & Fiancé Katarina celebrated her birthday. I wished to surprise her with a dinner reservation someplace new and even the Cuisine I kept a secret. "Fine Dining Indian Restaurant" are the keywords that won my commitment to booking us a table for 2 at Masala Junction. The Restaurant is situated within a stunning Old Bank Building (built in 1929) with architectural features to pleasure even the most fastidious Diner. The atmosphere in Masala Junction Restaurant is warmly 'pitch perfect' and so is its Staff. Shoutout is so deserved for Akash (apologies if spelled incorrectly) who was our most astutely fantastic Host/Server for the evening. He made our dinner at Masala Junction Restaurant as memorable for all the best reasons as can be experienced anywhere else.
The food here is almost ridiculously delicious & my Saag Gosht was truly the BEST Saag I have ever tasted out of the 9 countries where I had ordered the dish. A quiet word with Akash during my Fiancé's shorter powder room step away, led to him in total quiet preparing a luxury cake with lit-Sparkler to surprise Katarina the Birthday Chica at the end of our meal. I met the Owner in happenstance before our exit and he is a stellar human being that deserves Masala Junction's success.
Thank you so much everyone at Masala Junction Restaurant, Nottingham ---
The best Indian restaurant in Nottingham. That really sums it up, the food is exceptional!
Give the methi murgh a try, an incredible thick sauce, almost paste like with fenugreek, herbs and spices, packed with flavour, delicious!
The staff are professional and friendly, the restaurant is spotless and tastefully decorated, just a wonderful culinary experience, well worthy of travelling the small distance from the city.
Cant wait to go back, thanks to the team, keep up the great work!
Indian dishes, with a twist. Absolutely delicious with fantastic customer service. Great value for money too! The team had to deal with a very rude man, trying to impress the two young women with him, by being obnoxious. They were professional and calm, despite his pompous behaviour. Well done to the staff.
Lovely food and good value for money.
A lovely place to have some curry in a fancier setting.I went with a party of 4 and booked a table which I would recommend doing.
I got to taste lots of things and I would recommend the lamb pudino bot with a chicken tikka masala starter. I got a starter, 2bbeers, main, rice, naan and shared dessert and it came to £50 per person so good value I think.
Overall I would definitely come back.
What can be more enjoyable than having a decent curry during a cold rainy day?
My very first impression on non-food matters: Excellent service as if you are dining at a Michelin restaurant and great ambience.
Their foods are amazing! Look at the food presentation of the starters, simply beautiful and most importantly, they taste really good. Curry (I could not remember the Indian name for it) had a balance taste of spiciness and spices with a generous amount of onions, which makes a great combination with the Garlic Naan. Refreshing taste of the dessert mainly made from carrots, quite a new experience for me. With a satisfying pint of Kingfisher, nothing can go wrong with this meal.
I am grateful for the fact that the restaurant was saved from permanent closure. This is an Indian restaurant that you should not miss if you are looking for delicious and authentic Indian meal. I would have rated more than 5 stars if the system allows me to do so.
I went here for an event, raising money for Maggie's Nottingham. Had a really great time, the food was amazing. Indian food isn't something I've really had before, but masala junction has converted me, the food was incredible. With it being an even we had a choice of foods, which was great as it meant I was able to try different foods and loved it all. Can't wait to go again.
Came for a curry as part of a business networking event held by Nottingham City Business club. I wanted to try it as it’s been taken over a few months ago by the family that runs the excellent MemSaab in the city centre of Nottingham.
Well, can I give the chefs kudos for the tasty combination of crisp poppadom and tasty chutney starters, a main course sized starter with a variety of classic Indian food and a wonderful selection of mains, including melt in the mouth lamb (no fat) delicious chicken and fish curries, a variety of sides including pilau rice, garlic infused vegetables, salad and raita .
We were given our own space with two huge tables for 24 people so had the full VIP experience. Service was sublime. Excellent, highly recommended for a company meal and network event.
What can I say about Masala Junction, the food was 5🌟. The waiters were really knowledgeable about the menu and really friendly
They have a great menu for vegans, and they made the Roti vegan for as the pitta bread wasn't, which was really nice.
I really could have eaten the food over again but really didn't want to be greedy. The dessert, which was a chocolate fudge cake, was mmmm..... just enough.
It was our first experience at Masala Junction and DEFINITELY, not the last.
Situated in a wonderful old bank building the Masala Junction is conveniently situated within 5 min stroll from the Mercury hotel. On our arrival my wife & I received a very warm welcome and we’re shown to our table. Inside was decorated for Christmas however the restaurant’s own tasteful decor was attractive and very fitting. The menu although not huge had a very good choice of starters, Mains and deserts, additionally a varied choice of wines was available. We ordered the onion barji & vegetable samosas which arrived swiftly, both looked & tasted amazing! For Mains we ordered Chicken Jalfrezi which was a tasty, and delightfully spicy dish & Chicken Tika Tak also delicious although less spicy. Both dishes were generous portions, super tasty, food arrived nice and hot and all was complimented by sides of light perfectly cooked Pilau rice, potato & spinach Sag and quite possibly the best Nan bread we’ve ever tasted! We were both too full for deserts so unable to review those other than to say that what was on offer looked incredibly diverse and sounded delicious. The wine was also superb and the service was outstanding, we cannot fault anything and would highly recommend.
Superb. Food and service were simply brilliant. Cannot fault Masala Junction at all.
We ate at 8pm on a Saturday, restaurant was busy but not too full so the atmosphere was just right. Starters were very enjoyable - perfect size to whet your appetite, especially the Tulasi Tikka. We ordered a variety of dishes for our group of four, king prawn, fish and chicken. All were delightful, not too heavy on the spices (accurate to their descriptions) with incredible depth but not drowning out the more delicate flavours.
Masala Junction was recommended by Indian friends as being their favourite restaurant in Nottingham, and it certainly lives up to that. We will return.
Had a lovely evening here for dinner with my wife 'eating out to help out'. She loved the goat curry and the scallops to start, I enjoyed the chicken jalfrazi. Prices a tad to expensive even with the discount, but the restaurant has a refined atmosphere which is appealing. Agree with other reviewers, you shouldn't automatically add a service charge (especially for a group of 2), and leave tipping down to discretion.
Venue has a really great atmosphere. There is a good range of dishes offered on the menu and food is good value for money. It is slightly more expensive than other restaurants, but this is reflected in the quality. The food was served and presented really nicely and was very tasty and filling. Would definitely recommend to others and return in the future.
We had a truly unforgettable time celebrating my birthday. Food very well presented, lovely flavours. Junction Jalfrezi was amazing!
Loved the food. Chef understood how I want my vegetarian food to taste like. Best Indian restaurant so far I have been to in Nottingham. A must visit, if you want to taste real Indian food.
Good friends & a great meal in splendid surroundings, perfect night out.
The meal was fantastic, different spices & sauces tasted; served by efficient & friendly staff.
Not the cheapest - but not the most expensive either.
All in all, if you fancy trying something different from what other Indian restaurants offer, then stop off at this Junction for a meal to remember.
We had a marvelous meal here. Great food and really friendly staff made us feel well atteneded. First time trying Goat curry and we both truly enjoyed it.
The best Indian resteraunt I've ever been to, 5 star service from start to finish! The food was incredible, the presentation beautiful and the lamb melt in your mouth.. generous portion sizes too. Definitely worth the money, there was a service charge on the bill but we tipped even further , loved every minute thank you!
What a lovely classy restaurant.Loved the ambience and the service is impeccable. For starters ordered papdi tiki Chaat ... absolutely delicious and for drinks ordered a mango lassi and I can say it's the best mango lassi I tasted in a while. For mains ordered matar paneer and roti.Matar paneer had hint of Chaat masala but worked perfect for my taste buds. Highly recommend this place.
