There's a clutch of contemporary Indian restaurants gathered together on Maid Marian Way. That probably means they have to raise their game a bit, and that's good news for people looking for good Indian food.
There's a full menu, but delightfully there's some specials highlighted - and these were great; different approaches to the genre and delicious.
The food was excellent - we will start with that. The service was excellent, but the best part was the honest following of tradition shown in the cuisine.
If I'm back in Nottingham I'll be back here as well!
Everything from when you enter till you leave is fantastic. The service was amazing, and the food was as well.
We had a fantastic time here. The food was superb, the best Indian we have had in a very long time. The staff were extremely friendly and very helpful in recommending the dishes. We shall certainly return when we visit Nottingham again.
My favourite place for a special occasion curry, never fails to deliver both quality delicious food and good service! Last two months I have been I’ve had the specials both starter and main course as these are changed every month and are always delicious!

We were fortunate to get a short notice reservation here due to a cancellation and I am so glad we were able to eat here whilst in Nottingham. Located opposite the Park Plaza hotel the restaurant and it's interior are beautifully decorated and when you step inside you get that premier feel and know that you're in a high class establishment.
The restaurant was packed to the rafters with customers and Christmas parties and was hive of activity as staff flitted from table to table swiftly and efficiently taking orders and delivering food. Our waitress was superb and kindly drew our attention to an earlybird offer that had escaped our notice.
The menu is quite extensive with plenty to choose from, when the starters arrived the aroma of the food was mouth watering and the taste was superb. This was only surpassed by the arrival of the mains we ordered, with each dish being full of flavour and chilli heat.
Overall from start to finish our visit was incredible, none of us had any complaints or issues with the food, drink, service or atmosphere. If you're in the area and you like high quality indian food, you should visit the Calcutta Club.

The food is fresh and cooked to perfection. Generous portion sizes, I ended up ordering way too much the first time I went as I wasn't sure how big the sizes would be.
The staff are friendly and welcoming. Making you feel at home when you visit.
Only thing I would say needs changing is the décor, it feels very 90s. Something modern with an Indian twist would liven the place up, given its 2023.
Pricing is a bit on the high side of Indian restaurants I have visited but no complaints.
Overall a great place to dine.

What a meal and great service, I'm not one for choosing Indian food all the time so pretty unsure what I wanted when I visited Calcutta Club. Sonia was our waitress and very welcoming and also helped us choose our main meals, the lamb platter to share is amazing. Stacey asked for madras and was asked if she'd prefer another dish similar and took it 😋 great advice from Sonia, sorry cany rememberwhat it was 😁. I had the chicken tandoori and was also asked to try some sauce with it 😯😋 again amazing. We're a good 2 hours drive from here and try to get over for a bit of a break every few weeks 🍺🍷 The restaurant is amazing and we will be visiting here again. Do you self a favour and make sure you book, I always book when looki g on Google for places to eat.
Another visit and another great night, we had a visit on Saturday night after our last visit we knew that we'd be back. Had the specials and must say they were amazing. Thank you to Neha for the service she provided and thank-you to the chef and other staff in the kitchen for the food.
First time visiting this Indian restaurant and it was a real eye opener. Excellent reception from the staff who were very helpful with information about the dishes available. The food was really tasty, with the different spices balanced to perfection. We dined early and received 20% of the bill, which is available if you have a starter and a main. Highly recommended, I will certainly be returning!

Fantastic food. The Specials Lamb to start, King prawn purée followed by King Prawn Karahi and chicken tikka Rogan Josh amongst other things were the highlight. The service is second to none and can safely say this is the Best Indian I have been to. Our servers as always were superb!
Recommended by a foodie friend, my wife and I absolutely loved our experience! Food superb and great to have service that keeps an eye on you and ready to bring that next glass of wine and beer! Will be back soon as we get the chance!

Brilliant service Brilliant service and a lovely atmosphere. The mint chutney was excellent. Lamb chops on point and chilli garlic chicken excellent. Nottingham fine dining at its superlative best . Definitely give it a try

time. We were a large party but got the same level of service and care as if we were just a couple. The staff went to great lengths to ensure we had a great time, even getting the chef to adjust a dish so a first time curry eater could be introduced to Indian food in the best way possible.

We came to the restaurant for a birthday celebration, the quality of food was everything we hoped for, the service provided by Sonia was exceptional and the hospitality was on definitely point!

A lovely experience from start to end! The service was wonderful with the waitress remembering who ordered each item and giving us recommendations. She also ensured we were topped up with drinks throughout. The food was delicious and we took full advantage of the early-bird offer. A genuinely lovely restaurant with delicious food!
