We dropped into Le Mistral in Sherwood whilst visiting my Parents (who eat there fairly often). A lovely cozy little place considering its built into a standard shop on the highstreet, with a french theme. Even though it was midweek the place was packed full so is obviously a hit with the locals.
The menu is typically french (or how the british see french cuisiine) at least and there is plenty to choose from. We all ordered something different; pork normande, beef bouruignon, chicken and chorizo linguine and chicken supreme...and to my delight my party were all sharers and easily full so i got to try them all.
The quantity is plentiful and the quality of all the dishes superb. Its an absolute little gem of a restaurant and very reasonably priced.
I would highly recommend this restaurtant to anyone.
The food was good, the service was better, the atmosphere was excellent.
Very friendly and relaxed atmosphere.
Great wine list and lovely food. A guilty pleasure on a business trip. The lunch pate is to die for.
I really liked this place. Lovely atmosphere and prices are very reasonable. We both enjoyed the 'soup de jour' sitting in a place with so much style. The only criticism I have is the outside seating, which isn't their fault in all fairness! Good service and really nice food. I will go again - soon!
The first time I had the fixed price lunch here. Had a phone call to check I was still attending. We were early but it was not a problem, the food was lovely and tasty. Service was great and very attentive. Lots to choose from on the menu. Quite a mix of folks arriving, but still plenty of tables free. I would like to go again in the evening next time.
Came in for dinner for 4, made it just in time for their early bird deal. Food was excellent, especially loved the pork dauphinoise, compliments to the staff at Le Mistral! Their high rating on TripAdvisor is well deserved, will definitely be back!
I recently dined at this French cuisine restaurant, and while the food was average, the atmosphere truly stole the show. The ambiance transported me to a charming Parisian bistro with its warm lighting and cozy decor. It was the kind of place where you could lose track of time while sipping wine and enjoying good company. Although the dishes didn't quite reach culinary excellence, the overall experience was pleasant, making it a lovely spot for a relaxed evening out. 🍷🇫🇷😊
Always a beautiful experience and lovely food, one of my favourite restaurants in Nottingham.
The mussels are always top tier, and the staff will make the main a sharing starter if you ask nicely!
What a wonderful bijou french restaurant in the heart of Sherwood. I had heard of the place but had never been before so I was more surprised that it was listed as good Sunday lunch place.
I've very glad we trusted that as the food was delicious. I had the crispy belly pork which very much satisfied my need for Sunday lunch while the other dish and puddings were excellent too.
Really atmospheric, sort of rustic French restaurant. Service is excellent and the food very good. The baked camembert is brilliant.
Lovely atmosphere, great staff and some great vegan options. The lentil wellington was outstanding.
Delicious french cuisine. We loved our dishes, very tasty food with great flavours.
We felt very welcomed here, the service was outstanding, very efficient and detailed.
Highly recommended.
Always great food at Le Mistral! Sadly today’s delivery order of roast dinner was mixed up with another order and we got beef instead of pork. It was delicious but not what we ordered. Adam at the restaurant was very apologetic and dealt with the issue perfectly. These things happen and it won’t put us off ordering/visiting again
Had my wife's lunch birthday here (despite she is not in the UK for now). The 2 set course meal is a must for better savings (you can have the main, paired with either starters or dessert). Here's what I had:
Starter: WILD MUSHROOMS & BRIOCHE
- tasty mushrooms and tomatoes, good combination of cream
Main: CHICKEN & BACON FRICASSÉE
- delicious bacon and leek sauce makes the wonder, best paired with chicken and rice when mixing them all together
Dessert: LEMON TART
- a standard lemon tart lol (thank you for putting up a candle for my wife's birthday)
I enjoyed the ambience and lovely service there and will look forward to trying their Sunday roasts soon.
The most amazing birthday meal out! We had a chorizo and honey starter, and then for mains we had linguine and mussels. A real lovely local atmosphere, our server went above and beyond for us, being super polite and telling us all the options we had. We could definitely tell the food is authentic and fresh. Will definitely be returning and would recommend to anyone for something different in Nottingham.
The meal we had here at le mistral was absolutely amazing. Cooked to perfection and the quality was top notch. The service was great and they fit us in very last minute as well. Would highly recommend to anyone eating out in sherwood area and it’s worth the travel from around Nottingham!
Charlotte provided the best service I’ve had, ever. What a brilliant experience. I would highly recommend to absolutely anyone staying in Nottingham and it’s worth travelling out of the city centre for!
Good food, the lamb sauce was delicious, the lamb was cooked very nice, the vegetables could get a bit more love, but they were good. I was impressed with the white bait and the Belgian chocolate was fantastic. Overall 5 stars.
We went for lunch and the vegan food we had was so tasty and filling! I highly recommend coming here, they cater for pretty much everyone, are so polite, friendly, great food and we will definitely be going back.
Brilliant food, outstanding service and our hosts were second to none. Nothing was too much trouble for them, even helping out Ian with reading the menu (27th September Ian had cataract surgery on eye). We loved this restaurant and have been many times AND we will be back soon 😀 🧡🍾 promise 😀 😉 ❤️
From the start of this experience was flawless. Charlotte the lady who was front of house/waitress called us to confirm the reservation I made online. When we arrived we were seated within minutes despite it being busy, we were made to feel special and well catered too the whole time. Service was fast, all the flavours on every dish we had tonight complimented each other rigorously. I had the French onion soup, my partner tried the Duck pâté. For mains we had Beef bourguignon and also the Pork with crackling, dauphinoise potatoes, vegetables with a apple cream sauce (it wasn’t overpowering whatsoever)
We shared a sticky toffee pudding and went straight home to relax because we felt so satisfied! 100% will be returning again, visited the first time years ago and still just as consistently of the highest standard. Once again thank you to the all the staff for a wonderful night and lovely atmosphere!
Enjoyed our night here, lovely warm welcoming vibe. Food was great and the waitress was very friendly and helpful. Dropped a star as the manager (male) blanked us all night. Spoke to every other table, except us.

A party of us went for a Christmas meal together here. The service came with a smile at all times from a very helpful Irish (I think) young woman. The meals were excellent and the atmosphere was cosy. A delightful time was had by all. Thank you
Nice little French restaurant amongst the bevy of eatereries in Sherwood. A two course fixed price lunch at £12.95. Was all nicely presented and very tasty. Also do a traditional Sunday lunch which I intend to try.
