As a vegetarian, I was not very sure about this restaurant but my friends take me anyway. They don't have many options for vegetarians but people the food is incredible, the portions are very good and service is great but you need to BOOK A TABLE!! Do not go without booking. I had veg moussaka and Baklava for dessert. Both are amazing. Order Baklava only if you love sweet!!

Nice ambiance. Wonderful Turkish food. We ordered lamb shank and lamb shish items which were really good. They have a kids menu as well. Service is good too.

I didn't know what to expect from Gem, and I wasn't disappointed. The food is fabulously Turkish whilst the decor is contemporary. We had a selection of small plates and mezze and they were all fab. The flavours were complex, clean and so tasty! The service was attentive and efficient offering a really friendly dining experience. Nothing was greasy and the heat levels were perfect. We will certainly be coming back

We had an absolutely fantastic evening here. We were a large group and the staff couldn't have done more to ensure we had everything we need. Service was quick, efficient and friendly. The food was absolutely delicious, amazing portion sizes. Would highly recommend an espresso martini to finish as well! Thank you!

In my opinion, the BEST restaurant in Norwich. The food here is beyond spectacular, all the staff are so friendly and attentive, and the overall atmosphere is superb. Worth every penny, HIGHLY recommend.

Sat down and ordered drinks and starters, but we had to go and find someone to ask where they were. We then had to wait 1.5 hours for our main, by which time we’d lost our appetites a bit and we all left something. Food was great, staff were very friendly, but they should have made more of an effort to update us on the wait

From start to finish this place was top class. We were greeted warmly on arrival & our waiter showed us to our table. The ambience was classy & sophisticated. A lovely vegetarian selection on the menu & an extensive wine list. Staff were friendly & helpful & even recommended dishes to us. The food was out of this world, hot, tasty & very well presented. We will certainly be back & very soon too.

Me and my boyfriend went for a birthday dinner to the Gem of Norwich and it was amazing! The food was delicious (if you order set menu B make sure you are hungry) and I loved that you can try different things. Great vegetarian options. The staff were lovely and extremely accommodating! Lovely evening and we would definitely go back.

OMG Gem of Norwich is understated indeed! My friends and I were looking for a good place to have a good tasty and well spiced platter and we decided to stop by. We ordered chicken bbq wings, lamb chops platter and some sauces and meze’s! It was well spiced and our mouths were glad we gave them such delicacy! I’d definitely recommend. The staff here are customer friendly and the ambience of the restaurant is great too. It’s also nice for a date and a lovely romantic dinner.

Situated at the corner near the train station. Service was excellent the staff knows their menu well and interacted very well with customers. Vibes in the restaurant was very lively. We walked in without reservations around 9pm twice and they had seats. Especially love the lentil soup and the Iskandar which is meat with yoghurt and creamy sauce over croutons. The moussaka wasn’t as good as we expected though. Nevertheless Highly recommended.

100% a gem of Norwich. I can’t believe we hadn’t been before. Food was absolutely delicious, fresh and flavoursome. Service, attentiveness and ambiance was perfect. Really classy little place with utterly sublime food! Only… minor observation would be about cold meze sharer - It would have been nice if it could have been a choice 6 options for the set price. Other than that can not fault. We’ve already recommended it to friends and family… and we will absolutely be back!

We've just returned from our first ever visit to Gem, for our anniversary meal. It will certainly become a regular in our diaries, such wonderful food and selection of great Turkish wines, and the service was fab, I didn't catch the name of our waitress but she had the most fabulous hair, she was excellent and made us feel so at home and welcome. Could have done with being rolled back to the car though, can't wait to be back! Thank you x

An incredible selection of Turkish and Kurdish dishes are available here. We don't know this cuisine well so asked the waitor for recommendations, but he offered very little help, so we decided on a set menu which was an absolute delight. The mezzes were all as tasty as they were diverse. We had the opportunity to pick our mains, we chose the Iskender with Chicken Shish, this was the real star of the show that I encourage everyone to try. The Imam Bayildi didn't quite live up to it, but was satisfying nevertheless. The wine list here was also very interesting, though sadly the waitor once again didn't really offer us help when we asked, we ended up picking a Turkish white which actually paired veey nicely with the set menu. Some amazing other wines were available, covering the mainstays of the old world, but we feared we might pair incorrectly, as we are very experienced with wine but much less so with Kurdish cuisine - a potentially expensive mistake. We absolutely loved our meal here, and would strongly recommend anyone in Norwich to visit. We do wish our particular waitor was a little more helpful and attentive, and it's that reason alone I can't quite justify five stars. That said, we saw other tables had service from someone I assume to be a maître d' or owner, and they seemed to have excellent service by comparison.
