We came to celebrate friend's birthday. Very nice food, reasonably priced. Amazing tandoori chicken and king Prawn shashlik full of flavour! Portions are very generous so if you're not a big eater skip the starter. Staff friendly and efficient. Gladly would come back when in Norwich again.
When I was 5, I went here continuously with my family. The food was consistently amazing and now I'm back in Norwich, I've started going again. Since I've been back I go to a lot of Indian Restaurants, this is consistently the best. Every single time its fantastic. Its a little run down but the service is humble and the food is superb value for how fantastic it is and the portion sizes! I will continue eating here for years. Thank you for being the same memory I had 20 years ago.
Nice food, nice staff, nice enough surroundings (bit bright/clinical). Yup.
Went for a quite mid week meal out with friends. Had heard good things about the food here.
The decor is a little outdated but we where greeted and quickly had drinks in hand, which was great.
We ordered mains and sides. Which when they arrived looked fresh and delicious.
The naan was lovely, my Tikka was full of flavour and well seasoned. The rice was light and fluffy! All around excellent food, absolutely delicious!
Thank you
My wife and I went here for a low key dinner date. Food was delicious, prices were fair and service was great (Aaron, chef's daughter and a blonde lady were all lovely, friendly and helpful). And we'd go back again, even with all the competition.
Only advice I'd give is that decor wise it could do with a bit of a refresh.
Food is delicious and waitress was friendly and prompt to bring drinks, starters and mains. however the cutlery was a bit dirty looking and the place could do with some new chairs as they looked well worn and the decor could do with abit of a more modern take etc but overall I would return :)
My experience was excellent here. My korma was very good and the lamb kebabs were so tender and tasteful. Can't fault the table service or price. Will definitely return as the meals were all very good. Thank you.
Great family restaurant, atmosphere and friendly people fast tasty food
6 of us arrived near 10pm last night and the staff accommodated us so well. It was probably the best Indian meal I have had in Norwich. The vegetarian options were out of this world. Thank you to all the staff who put up with us, sorry for staying so long but we will be back
The interior was nice a really nice atmosphere, our party was quite large but the food came quite quickly. It was hard to choose what we wanted but, everything we ordered was really really nice. The service was 10/10, the staff were really friendly and quite tolerant of our slightly tipsy demeanour lol and the bill wasn't too expensive. Great place will visit again when get chance. Thanks.
I live very close to the Clipper and have eaten there many times and had takeaway even more times. The food and service have been consistently good over the 6 or 7 years that I have been a customer. I have always been greeted warmly and served promptly. I have sampled many dishes over the years and have obviously enjoyed some more than others but the quality of the food has been consistently high. Good food and good value for money.
This is our first visit to Bengal spice and i can inform all that are interested in doing the same, that we will be regular customers. The service from the waiting staff was second to none, the food was absolutely delicious (i love Indian food and have tried most of Norwich's Indian restaurants) and the waiting time for the food to arrive was reassuringly long, but not frustratingly so. The restaurant itself is warm, quite spacious but despite it being so, still maintains an intimate atmosphere if you're going with a partner. The decor is lovely and the location is perfect for parking. It was reasonably quiet at the time that we went(booked our table for 9pm)but i would imagine that it livens up later on. Norwich has some fantastic restaurants and bistros to explore and there are other very good Indian restaurants, but this is definitely imo, the best. Considering that the food was so beautifully cooked and presented, i was actually very surprised when the bill arrived. Very, very competitive.. I have read a few negative reviews but i would be shocked if they're not fake/troll reviews. Give it a try and i am totally confident that you will be glad that you did. Enjoy!
For the first time in three months I went to a restaurant. I had ordered from here online but never sat in before, the restaurant staff were very good with social distancing and ensuring that we felt comfortable with everything happening at the moment. Hand sanitizer was on a table as soon as you walk in and asked to write my details down to help any track and trace problems.
Food was fresh and hot, Cobra lager tasted nice too. Will 100% be back.
Relatively quiet mid-week visit but standards of food and service were very good. I had Duck Chilli masala. Super hot but delicious. Wife had Prawn Pathia which she also enjoyed. Staff were attentive and friendly and spoke to us about the menu dishes plus their experiences and family in Bangladesh. Very enjoyable visit.
I had a tandoori duck starter and the "cottage beef special" (hot!). Both excellent. Also a top-notch sag bhaji, dry and delicious. Definitely worth a visit if you appreciate good food from this area of the world.
Excellent food as always last night. Pleasant family run Curry house. Always a pleasure to eat here.
Absolutely the best Indian restaurant in Norwich by a mile. I've been to all the Indians and nothing compares. This place is not your typical Indian restaurant trying to be an Instagram famous place. They really focus on the quality of their food and service and nothing else. Whether your going out with family friends large parties or loved ones. I would strongly recommend this place. It's exactly what your looking for in an Indian restaurant great food and amazing service.
