How lovely to have somewhere to go where the food is just brilliant and not just your normal pub grub that you seem to get in every pub these days. The meals we had here were really lovely. All fresh food, cooked especially for you.
The food not only tastes good but is cooked to perfection and not looks good to!
As this has been taken over by new ownership, and this is local to me, I thought I'd give it a good go. I was pleasantly surprised! The booking was easy and negotiable, with the service being just as friendly and simple. It has recently reopened so the menu is limited and times when certain meals are available, which is understandable. With having ordered the Beef Sunday roast this was delightful, empty plate from me! Lovely mix of veg, meat and gravy with sauces to choose from, some select veggies which are randomised to each plate but the flavours stood out to me. Friendly atmosphere and joy around. Definitely recommend to many and this is a place to watch out for as this will improve to be a great local pub.
Finally a decent pub in Spixworth. Just had the Sunday roast and it was delicious. Will definitely be back. The family that run the pub now are incredibly welcoming and friendly which makes a big difference to the atmosphere.
Attentive and welcoming staff! Amazing sunday roast, large portion sizes. Friendly amotspehere. Overall, perfect place for food!
As there has recently been new landlords at the pub they have started offering roast dinners. We decided to give the pub a visit and try their roast.
The pub was nice and inviting. A friendly welcome and there was a good crowd inside.
Between the two of us we had a roast beef and a roast chicken and an extra pot of gravy.
The food was good. Nicely cooked and a good selection of veg. I had a nice sized slice of beef and my wife has some nice chicken breast. Plenty of gravy and everything was nice and hot.
Great service and all served in good time.
We will be back again for a roast dinner.
Decided to pop in on the spur of the moment to the Longe Arms for a drink. After a delightful chat with Carly, Darrell and Georgia, we decided to book in for an evening meal. Great food, we can highly recommend the fish and the steak, and brilliant service made for a lovely evening topped off with a decent real ale, Timothy Taylor’s Landlord. Thank you.
Had a roast dinner from there today. Its was exceptional. Perfectly cooked beef, nicely done vegetables with a bit of bite, beautiful stuffing and the crispiest roast potatoes. Having pre ordered for takeaway I wasn't expecting it to survive the journey home but it held up so well and was thoroughly enjoyed. Will definetly be returning. Well done Guys⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I brought my partner, mum and 3 teenage girls to the long arms for a Sunday roast. The pub is family run and a lot of effort has been put into making everyone welcome.
The food is restaurant quality and fairly priced. I will be returning again and trying out the desert menu as didn’t have enough room to squeeze one in this time! Chris
Sunday roast is first rate. Best chicken I've had in a pub/restaurant & the beef I tried from my wife's plate was first rate too.
Real sausage stuffing, giant Yorkshire's all well done.
Staff are friendly & service is fast. Beer selection is good with 3 well maintained ale taps atop the usual lagers & ciders etc.
Coffee and hot chocolates don't usually get a mention in pubs but the hot drinks here were absolutely on point.
Prices are very reasonable 10/10 overal.
Nice family run business. Burgers and sunday roasts are way better than many well known restaurants. Ingredient quality is quite good. Simple but high quality food. I can recommend to everyone who want some good food for fair price. Staff is also very friendly.
Visited today for Sunday Roasts, with a Gluten free Vegetarian in attendance too, which they were able to cater for. The food was good traditional favourites, of good quality and reasonably priced and the kids even enjoyed a game of pool before we left. Will definitely return for another roast this winter.
After reading lots of reviews, we decided to try out the Sunday roast at our village pub. The service and food was really good, sizeable portions, and tasty too.
The only thing which I felt was wrong, is charging £2 extra for a small pot of gravy. Every other pub I have ever visited for Sunday lunch, would bring an extra conplimentary pot of gravy if asked. That being said, we still enjoyed it and we will return. Thank you
We don't normally drink in the village pub but we made the decision to give it a go. Lots of locals in there. Had a burger and chip which was superb. No complaints
Lovely friendly pub, enjoyed a take away beef roast meal very tasty, even plenty of space to dine in, well recommended don’t miss out give it a try, you won’t be disappointed a 5 ⭐️ from me 👍😀
Under new management. The pub looks great after being refurbished inside. A lovely friendly atmosphere and very welcoming. Took the family for a Sunday roast after a walk around the farm opposite the pub. The roasts were excellent, very tasty and good portions (child portions available). The desserts were also excellent. Waiters were very attentive. A great experience and highly recommended
Lovely atmosphere. Beautiful roast dinner and very friendly. We had our puppy with us and were made to feel very welcome. 😊😊
Went for a roast on Sunday (28th) weekend just gone, and had the aged beef, was highly impressed by how tasty and well presented the food was. The carrot puree was the perfect accent to the food.
The new landlord & landlady have put so much work into the pub. It's got a lovely atmosphere & seems well enjoyed by the clientele. They deserve to do very well if this is how they've started
