This is now the usual venue for me and my 2 friends (former work colleagues) when we meet up about 3-4 times a year. Both the beer and the food are excellent - they serve the beer in proper jugs (rare these days!). The food is well cooked, well presented and there is ample of it (ie, not too much so that it puts you off eating), so I never need to have a meal when I get home! The pub is clean, the staff are friendly and there are lots of places to sit, including a terrace overlooking the river. Highly recommend this pub to anyone out in Norwich for the day.

Good pub to have a pint and a meal in, especially after a journey on the train, or waiting for your train to leave.

Held my wife's 40th in the downstairs area with the outside veranda, perfect size for the 80ish guests. A well stocked and served bar by the helpful Nicole. The manager and staff were easy to work with in the build up. The location worked well to with guests staying in hotels near the tain station. The live band was excellent too.

Great place to have a quick beer before the train. Had a few footy games on TV while we were there. Reasonably priced for the area, and great service. Very friendly staff, well worth a visit if you just arrived on the train to Norwich

Great place for a drink whilst waiting for the train. Outdoor area overlooking the river in view of the station clock. I always have a drink here when visiting Norwich by train.

One of our favourite pubs in Norwich. If we come over on the train it’s our tradition to pop in for a drink or two. Especially love it in the summer when we can sit outside however we enjoy sitting inside too! Andy is always super welcoming.

A nice place for a pint before taking the train. If you have time take a walk along the adjoining River. And if you are there while the sun recedes you will get some beautiful pictures too.

Had a lovely meal in here The biggest bit of fish I'd ever seen. Quick service. Bit dissapointed there were no pies left but the fish more than made up for it. Loses one star for the noisy football lot....

A wet Thursday evening in December is not the best time to review a pub! There were just a few people in so it lacked atmosphere. The staff were amazing, attentive and friendly. Good job

Came in for a quick drink before catching a train and the staff where really polite and friendly. The drinks are very well priced considering how close it is to the center.

A family owned, dog friendly pub close enough to the train station to just pop in between trains. A great place to spend time, eat and drink.

Really busy pub opposite Norwich Train station. Good place to meet up. Inside and outside seating available. Dog friendly, with dog water bowls and dog snacks on the bar. They also have sports screening. Food was very nice, we got the sharing platter to share a snack for 5 ..only problem was that there were only 4 of some of the items ..ie 4 fish goujons 4 sweet potato wedges. But all were tasty in particular the crispy squid. Close by is a really pleasant riverside walk.

I always go to The Compleat Angler prior to visiting Carrow Road. It is always friendly and has a good atmosphere, the staff work their socks off getting everyone served in good time. Excellent spot for a few beers.

Right next to the river, this pub attracts crowds easily. Sitting by the water on a sunny day with a cold one is lovely. You can walk all around down by the river and then go up some steps to get access to town but you'll go through this pubs back garden. Lovely atmosphere. The inside of the pub is large and very well laid out. The style of the bar and interior suits. They have TVs to watch sports if your into that. This pub is a must for a sports fan, a must for someone who enjoys a wide variety of drinks on tap, a must for outdoor drinking sat on balcony watching the boats. You can get a wheelchair in through the door and a scooter and plenty of room inside. I am unaware if they have disabled toilets as there was a step down to the regular toilets.
