The drinks were phenomenal - one of the best milkshakes I've had (although the portion was quite small). The food was large in portion size but the burgers we had were quite dry and 3 of them didn't have much sauce which was a shame because the rest was lovely.
25th birthday treat for my youngest. Portion sizes are mega. Drinks list endless, including ice-cream floats and milkshakes to die for. Staff were really great. I don’t like American diners but I love this one.
As always, the food and atmosphere here are amazing! The servers in there are always so attentive and helpful with my allergies!
Every time we come, they make us feel welcome and answer any questions I have regarding my allergies. The food is always on point. They have a great range of food and desserts.
So much fun, awesome atmosphere, and huge portions!
The place itself is decked to the rafters with enamel signs, vintage posters, vinyl on the walls, and an old school coca-cola dispenser. The coloured lights really add to the diner vibe!
Husband and I visited for the first time after booking on a whim and ordered soda floats (soda with ice-cream) and frickles (fried pickles) to start - and we had such a great time trying both. The batter used for the frickles is really tasty, better than a lot of batters we’ve tried.
We definitely over-ordered for mains and ended up with a takeaway box. A burger cooked medium as big as my head, onion rings, and tater-tots smothered in blue cheese sauce (and they do mean smothered… I asked for the sauce on the side on our next visit as it was just that bit too much for me)
Partner ordered a burger which came with an entire steak IN it… and also paid to double up on the patties! Attached a photo of his face when he saw the monster delivered to the table! And finally, mac and cheese on the side.
Our wonderful server did warn us it was a lot of food, and we still went full-steam ahead - though we were appreciative when she later passed by and mentioned they have takeaway boxes… half the food came home with us!
We visited again another day so my husband could try the Wednesday bottomless wings, and again had a great experience. I had a bratwurst hotdog with tater-tots and he had the wings, which he was grateful came with plenty of napkins and small wet-wipes to clean off his hands.
Prices are competitive and not overly expensive at all. The service is really relaxed but engaging and kind. All three waitresses we have been served by had a laugh with us and were very knowledgable on the extensive menu.
I visited Zaks Mousehold Diner with my partner and a friend last week.
The waitresses were really lovely and friendly, the food was lush (I had a pulled pork Sandwich for dinner and lime cheesecake for pudding), and the alcoholic milkshake was amazing!
Very good value for money considering the portion sizes.
Lovely tea today at Zak's American Diner on Mousehold for the Grandsons birthday treat!
Lovely atmospheric American Diner but be aware the food is 'chips with everything!' Really tasty food and the burgers are cooked to perfection, well cooked but still moist!! Yum!!
We sat upstairs which is a bit more roomy, had three lovely meals and two desserts with three drinks and with the offer of two for one at the moment the bill was only £51.
Good service from lovely friendly staff. Just note, parking can be a problem!! Really enjoyed and will be back.
We had a glorious great big juicy dirty burger and fries.
(Fries were nothing to shout about, they were a bit dry) but as always the burgers were amazing.
Very friendly and helpful staff.
Why would you go anywhere else for a burger?!
Excellent American style diner. Great food and vibe
Great food and service at a very reasonable price mark this family friendly diner out as a place to visit.
I visited for lunch with my kids one Tuesday during the Easter holidays and we had a great time. Parking was free out front, but wasn't massive - if there were a lot of people visiting the heath I imagine it would get full.
We'd booked a table that morning and it was surprisingly busy, although we probably would have been squeezed in if we had not made a booking.
Our waitress was friendly and attentive from the outset, we were given good time to make our choices and our drinks came out promptly (the milkshakes were especially great).
Our food was all absolutely faltless; I can give no higher praise than my fussy-eater 13 year old declaring that his chicken crispies were the best he'd ever eaten of the genre. My youngest son loved his pasta and meatballs and my daughter and I thought our burgers were excellent.
The kids meals each came with a pudding, that were hoovered-up faster than I could pinch any of!
In this day and age all of this for £53 is an absolute bargain, we will definitely be back 🤩
Loads of character very friendly staff, good service, fab portions, lots of choice, sensible prices and tasty! Recommend for a wide variety of tastes and diets. Lovely setting as well, near a great woodland walk and within easy reach of Norwich City centre.
Excellent food with generous portion sizes. Always tastes amazing! The staff are always a pleasure too. Needs slightly better lighting (normal lights rather than multicoloured ones) but other than that; Zaks does the best burgers in Norfolk!
We come here for our mother's birthday usually once a year. Simple traditional American food. There's loads of variety of burgers and the portions are really big. Lovely atmosphere and decor.
Family dinner out for my daughter's birthday! Absolutely amazing setting, decorated out with old American memorabilia! The menu is extensive and lots to choose from. You can add extras or remove from your meal. The staff are really friendly and eager to help and make your visit a memorable one. The portion sizes are always plentiful, excellently cooked and very satisfying! Will definitely come back again ❤
Love this building, never can visit here and not order a burger, they're always lovely always leave feeling stuffed. Can't go wrong. Not the cheapest at 17 quid for burger topped with mac and cheese and tater tots but nice for a treat.
One of my favourite food spots in Norwich. I usually come here with family or my partner for special occasions, such as birthdays. I LOVE the curly fries here and everything is always so tasty. The atmosphere, the building and decorations of this American diner makes the dining experience even better. The staff here are also always really attentive and friendly.
Absolutely fabulous American dining experience.
We would of liked to sat outside half way through as it was a lovely day but outside is only for takeaways maybe this could be amended.
The staff are absolutely brilliant and go above and beyond, the food was delicious.
The drinks were amazing too.
Service with a smile.
Very welcoming atmosphere. Happy to make last minute adjustments to fit our children onto our booking with 10 minutes notice although a busy evening. Lovely food and fantastic service
