Last minute booking for an anniversary Sunday lunch (we hadn't decided where to go 😊)
Jack looked after us really well. Wished us a happy anniversary. Helped my wife get the perfect red wine 🍷
Sunday lunch started quiet and got to about 1/2 to 2/3rds full.

The food was very good and the staff even better. Special mention for Chris who was very helpful and supportive towards the member of our party who was in a wheelchair.

The food and service was excellent. The duck, fish, and beef were exceptional. We were a tiny bit concerned initially, as the previous 14 reviews were very mixed. However we're extremely pleased we kept our reservation.

Lovely meal. Lovely atmosphere. Friendly staff. The only negative for me was that when we left, the main door was locked and we had to leave via the hotel entrance. Very difficult for me as I have trouble with stairs and I was under the impression that the disabled access was via the Wine Press res
Thank you for a very nice meal of plaice with lemon butter, potatoes & tenderstem broccoli which was reasonably priced. The wine was a good price as well. Service was ok plus not rushed.
Ganz nettes Restaurant für ein kleines Luncheon im traditionsreichen Hotel. Keine große Küche und auf der Weinkarte wird neben allen anderen Herkunftslaendern auch "Bordeaux" genannt. Hallo! Der Hundertjährige Krieg ist vorbei und wurde verloren, England! ;)

Quite a nice rest
Excellent food - wonderful welcome in an interesting historical inn. Both the halibut with confit celeriac and the stone bass were delicious.
Food was fantastic especially the chocolate fondant. Bit pricey but as it was a belated birthday meal we accepted it.
