Having eaten here before & I would have given a five star rating, today however was the complete opposite. Coffee needs to be made to a consistent level, today wasn't the best I've had here. Was taken here for breakfast today, so I wasn't paying, had I of been, I would have complained, didn't want my friend embarrassed. All 3 breakfasts were way off satisfactory. Fantastic quality produce RUINED. Why would you serve hot food on cold plates? I didn't want black pudding, I didn't want it replaced with anything else, this was checked after order taken by the server, so why did I get my breakfast served with black pudding, what a waste of food. The fried egg was cremated, how is that possible? Staff need to be overseen by someone obviously in charge, where was that person?. I cannot recommend this establishment as I had in the past. It's up to you to make amends & regain my custom.

Went with mmy mum for the first time today for a hot chocolate and carrot cake. It was really yummy, the atmosphere was lovely and relaxed. Pushchair friendly and doggy friendly too!! Will definitely visit again and recommend to friends!!! Well worth a visit!
Visited for the first time over the weekend such a fab cosy relaxing place, food was fab. Saw there is a quiz on over a weekend. Are there going to be other events on at some point?? I’m definitely coming back �
Came here today and really enjoyed my coffee, apple juice and cod fish finger sandwich. Beautiful decor great service and tasty food what's not to like. Will definitely return.
This is the most stunning renovation project that I've seen take place in the entire time I've lived in Norwich. Amazing that this building is now so light, welcoming and filled with the community. Great staff, great environment and great Sauvignon Blanc! 👌🏼
So pleased to have finally dined at this wonderful place. What an amazing transformation! The atmosphere is one of kindness and light with a homely feel. Lush food. Brilliant service. Such a lovely place to just come and chill; will definitely be coming back!
Absolutely love the new Mitre. It looks so clean & fresh, such a great transformation. The staff are really friendly. Coffee is great. Particularly love the toilets - great decor! The best bit has to be - knowing when you buy a drink you know you can & are helping others!
Fantastic place. Wonderful breakfast. Best coffee I have ever tasted. Love the décor. We came to Norwich to drop our son off to Norwich University of the Arts and decided to pop in. So glad we did. You haven't seen the last of us!
Came here for the first time today and had the full English. Was absolutely delicious and it came out really quickly. Loved the way the interior had been decorated. Made the place look very light. The fire was cozy and welcoming. Good to see lots of people using this lovely facility. I have driven past The Mitre lots of times and it always used to look dark and dingy. Now it's brighter, warm and welcoming. Very impressed. Will definitely come back :-)
Dropped my daughter off at The Sports Factory, called in for coffee and bacon roll en route to town for a shopping trip. Back for afternoon tea before pick up at 3. Perfect venue.
Lovely light and spacious interior. Friendly staff and good food. And a range of ales with biblical pun names which I approve of.
Popped in for lunch today with our son who is at university! Great service, freshly cooked food and lovely hospitality, great friendly feel.

So lovely to study in here, great workspace and you don’t feel like they just want to get rid of you as soon as you finish your coffee like some other local places that aren’t as student study friendly! Offer student discount also. :)

The Mitre was a great space to go for a coffee before, but the new introduction of batch brew filter coffee has elevated it to new heights.
Norwich coffee snobs (myself included) need a filter coffee fix in their lives! The Blue Bear coffee on offer today was fantastic and the service was top notch. Highly recommend.
Friendly and inviting. Great coffee and definitely baby and breastfeeding friendly! Plus there's some toys near the sofa area.

I love coming to the Mitre to work. Tasty drinks and treats, and Sarah is such a friendly face to see. Dog friendly, which is a huge bonus!
A nice, open and airy coffee shop with lots of of space and welcoming staff, it's dog friendly too. Having been caffeinated out at the point of visiting I opted for a milkshake which was very good. Will look forward to trying their coffee next time we visit.
Amazing breakfast with high quality produce. Friendly service and comfy surroundings. Enjoyed a game of scrabble too!

Great old building, used to come here when it was the Mitre pub. I knew one of the chaps who worked behind the bar at the bowls club round the back. I came here and had a delightful Soya Mocha and a ham and cheese croissant. My friend had a couple of diet colas.
There's a Nordic quality to the interior of this former traditional pub. The coffee (flat white) was superb. The staff personable, and the interior stylish, spacious and temperate. Was a perfect 20 mins.
Lovely space for meeting friends, very comfortable and friendly staff. It is a great coffee house, that provides a very small selection of food such as warm baps, and soup. If you're looking for a substantial meal this is not the place. However the coffee is delicious and the bacon bap and wedges were tasty too.
Such a lovely vibe here! Beautiful natural light, spacious yet cozy - a brilliant quiet place to set up camp and study for the day. Coffee was nice and the pastries were lovely!
I think it’s important to leave good reviews when it’s deserved. I’ve been to Mitre a few times post-lockdown and I’m always impressed! The coffee and cakes are great, the staff are utterly lovely. The outside seating area is super nice on a sunny day. Rapid service! Great prices. The inside is always immaculate and it’s been set up very well for social distancing measures. I am Yet to try the food but from what I’ve seen it looks delicious.
Exceptional cafe. Always friendly, welcoming and great coffee. Bright and clean environment. Very tempting menu and cakes. Weather-permitting, seating outside. All just round the corner, too...luxury but not expensive. Highly recommended cafe.
Lovely community coffee shop run on volunteers. Lovely place to hang out over a coffee and cake or to sit and have a sausage roll or sandwich whilst working or studying :)
Just finished our lunch and it was delicious. Had the beyond burger with chips and it was the nicest I have eaten in a long time. The food arrived very quickly and the staff were accomodating of our requests. The service here is fantastic. The staff are friendly, fun and made us feel really welcome. They are also making sure everyone feels safe around Covid. Would highly recommend!
