I love going to The Eagle. The food here is fantastic, especially the Nut Roast on a Sunday (will be needing the recipe). Staff are warm and welcoming and you can bring your dog here as well. Mr. Darcy loves his trips out to the Eagle, he is yet to sample some food from the doggy menu :) I 100% recommend this pub to anyone looking for a great lunch at a reasonable price or just a spot to have a few drinks in.
Met a couple of friends here for lunch. It was still quite early so not too busy(which was nicer to chat)although started to fill up as it got later.
We all had “small plate”food from the lunchtime menu.Mine was creamy garlic mushrooms on sourdough and the others had Halloumi salad with chillli, and Whitebait with buttered bread. All were delicious 😋
The decor and surroundings are stylish and comfortable in dark blues/greys.
A great place to visit...i’lol definitely be returning.
Went with friends for lunch, was lovely fresh homemade local food, reasonable price, friendly staff, sat in conservertory was very nice and peaceful, would whole hearted recommend a visit.
Great pub!! Good selection of beers, wines and spirits!! Lovely food!! With friendly staff! I would highly recommend this pub
Popped in because Mum wanted coffee in the sunshine and ended up staying for dinner. The pub is light and airy, with good selections of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. The menu is varied with a mix of classics and more modern dishes, beautifully prepared and presented by a friendly and helpful staff. The garden is marvelous with a long stretch of lawn amid tall trees, and a small play area with a climbing frame. I would most heartily recommend it, and intend to return many times in the future.
Welcoming, friendly staff, delicious food, proper bar with good choice of ales. Gorgeous outdoor area, perfect for sunny afteroons.
Not the cheapest, but worth paying a little extra for the good quality of drinks, meals and atmosphere.
Enjoy!
This was our first visit to The Eagle, it was my Birthday treat, and we were not disappointed, we all had an excellent meal, and the service was very good indeed, we enjoyed our meal so much we booked for another . We all came away very full .
Delicious food - the best roast beef I've had for a long time. Excellent service - we waited 10 minutes if that. Delightful venue newly refurbished and very comfortable. Thank you to all the staff at the Eagle.
Fantastic lunch!!!! Our waitress was so lovely and welcoming a true asset to your wonderful pub! We are from London but any time we are visiting here it will def be somewhere we would head to ! The beef was beautifully cooked and plenty of it x
Lovely food. Attentive (but not overly so) and speedy service. Polite and friendly staff. Only downside there was only one wheat-free option for pudding however myself and my fellow diners were too full from the wonderful main course. I had sausage and mash and both my friends had fish and chips. Yummy!
I adore coming to your pub with my dogs ! Thankyou for great food, warm welcome, clean, and tasteful decor.........plus Peronni on tap ! Blissful ! 😃
I organised a BBQ for over 80 people last year and it was spot on. Very good service, great infrastructure for families with young kids and awesome management. Only have praises for the place.
We were in need of somewhere for some last minute dinner on a Saturday evening, and stumbled upon this place on google. When we arrived we were happily accommodated for.
The service was good, the food however, was another level. I did not expect such a high standard of food! The pork belly was to die for. Cooked perfectly. The chicken supreme, bread and butter pudding, also great. Great value for money too. We have recommended The Eagle to family and friends too!
Totally delicious food, exceptional and far beyond what would be expected from a pub. Service was attentive and friendly. The pub was cold, we were never at a comfortable temperature.

I live in Norwich since five years and I have been in this fantastic pub restaurant only recently. Now, we are going here almost every weekend. They serve very nice food as you can see from the pictures. The menu is rich. There is also a nice garden on the back with tables. Moreover, they are dog friendly.
Had two roasts here recently and both excellent.
Really impressed. Good value too with some cauliflower cheese
Put us in a room tucked away but we didn't care. Some might have done though.
The waitress said she'd get us a menu for desserts. It didn't arrive lol. We couldn't fit one in anyway so didn't matter really.
Didn't have any change for a tip yesterday which made us feel bad so will give more when we come again. (I thought my Wife paid for drinks but she didn't). So I had to.
Anyway apologies and can't wait to return.

We went to the Eagle for a Sunday roast today and was a birthday lunch to a family member. The roast was delicious both nut roast and chicken roast. Staff were amazing and especially Chelsea and Astrid were so helpful, courteous and attentive. They helped in keeping the cake in the fridge for us and got it in time on to the table to help us surprise the birthday gal! Cannot recommend the pub enough for the roast and such amazing service :) thanks a bunch guys! We are definitely visiting again!
We had a lovely meal here. I didn't want a massive plate of food so I had a children's roast chicken dinner , not alot of place's allow this so a gold ⭐ from me. My partner had the mozzarella balls with salad & my son had the tomato with cheese pasta. The staff were lovely. All in all we had a great experience thank you 😁
Not so quiet but calm setting. Food wasn't bad, in fact, it tasted quite nice, however, menu didn't offer much variety. Loved my strawberry and lime drink.
It was altogether an okay night out, save for a dog barking at me when I arrived.
It's a dog-friendly place.
Friendly staff, good food. Have been twice in the last two weeks and each time there were items on the menu thar had run out (the sea bream both times)
Other than that, I'd recommend.
The dishes listed on line are incorrect as there's a new menu from Jan 2024
The place looks very nice inside, there is a big garden and plenty of space to sit there. The food was very tasty, the service was attentive and polite.
4.5 stars. The Sunday roast was really very good. Located just a 15 minute stroll from the city center there is a reasonable amount of parking. Tables inside and also a lot of space (and tables) outside. We had the whitebait as an entree and Sunday roast beef and Sunday roast pork. All excellent in quality, quantity and taste. Service also good e.g. checked in to see if everything was to our satisfaction. Definitely worth a visit!
Had a delicious Sunday lunch, the vegetables were cooked to perfection and one of the best Yorkshire puddings I've ever had. Would definitely recommend.
Called in here for lunch today. The staff were friendly and attentive, and I don't think they could have accommodated us better. The food was excellent, too.
Oh, and the goth waitress with the sword necklace was gorgeous.
Thank you so much, I'd definitely visit again and knowing that the venue is dog friendly, next time I'm bringing my huskies.
By far the best burger I have ever had. food all round was astonishing. Lovely setting great beer. Amazing
What a gem of a meal. Reasonable price and outstanding quality of food.
Lovely Sunday lunch!
Table outside which was chilly but worth it in corona virus. Great staff who kept checking in on us despite being outside and who wore masks throughout, and good one touch policy on drinks glasses.
Little car park out the front which was sufficient but could be quickly filled in a busy day.
Dog friendly in the back garden, no idea about inside.
Food was really tasty and great portions sizing. Only improvement I'd ask for would be a jug of gravy but that's probably gluttony rather than need, as there was enough on the plate.
Desserts were good. I had thought that the "chocolate pot" would be a hot dessert but it wasn't - in these corona times it might be a useful idea to reference these on the menu for outside diners to know how to warm up!
Would love to come back soon x
Great food, it never disappoints. I was very impressed with my roast, especially cos I’m veggie and the nut roast was homemade and delicious, great veg, definitely one of my go to for a roast dinner in Norwich.
We spent 3days in lovely Norwich + this comfy, friendly pub was just a long from our hotel. We didn't eat there but called in for drinks each evening. Nice atmosphere + friendly staff.
Had a chicken Sunday roast here which was absolutely delicious, and also been here a couple times for small plates, the cajun fishcakes are delicious and as always the sticky toffee never disappoints. Highly recommended
Great food , great service , great atmosphere , couldn't fault anything about the meal we have just eaten .
The car park has approximately 30 spaces and is wheelchair friendly .
Booked a table on the way out for father's Day , can't wait to go back . 👍👍😁👍👍
Update after father's Day meal,
Again great food and service , their is a back outside area with plenty of table's and climbing frame for the children 👍
