The fish and chips here are outstanding and the service is excellent. The food came served piping hot which made it that much more enjoyable. There are tables if you'd like to sit in to eat too (which is an added bonus).

I cannot recommend it enough. From the warm and welcoming atmosphere to the delicious food, everything about this place is top-notch.
I recently enjoyed a meal of grilled cod, chips, and battered cod, and I have to say, it was some of the best fish and chips I've ever had. The grilled cod was perfectly cooked, tender and flaky with just the right amount of seasoning. The chips were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, and the battered cod was delightfully crunchy and flavourful.
But what really sets this restaurant apart is the quality of the ingredients and the care that goes into every dish. You can taste the freshness of the fish and the attention to detail in the preparation of each component of the meal.
Beyond the food itself, the staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and always eager to make sure you have a great dining experience. They go out of their way to make you feel welcome and ensure that you leave satisfied.

Excellent restaurant, quality service was second to none, and despite being extremely busy when I visited, the guy who served me was extremely calm and friendly.
Food was excellent. The chips are always amazingly fresh and delicious. Both peas and curry sauce were great, curry sauce has a real nice kick with it (you’ve been warned!).

Cod was so fresh.. Lovely white flesh. Batter beautiful and crunchy.
Chips well cooked not fat dripping out of them.

Been a long time finding a good traditional fish and chip shop which the owner understands the cooking of good quality fish. 👌👌👌👍 I travelled from Southend on sea to this fish and chip shop and trust me I was not disappointed as being a fish and chip owner in the past I was totally impressed it was definitely worth the 2 hour drive..
We got a large fish and chips and a battered sausage to takeaway. These were more than enough for two adults.
All orders were huge in portions, great value for money.
I'd definitely come back again. One thing to note is that you should probably order ahead as it took a good 15-20 mins to make our order.
Great fish and chip shop. Although the batter is slightly on the lighter side (flatter), it maintains a crispy (not soft) texture/surface and the size of fish is great too. The chips are slightly thicker yet very tasty - soft in middle, light crisp outer coating. In addition, their homemade tartar sauce is excellent and you receive it with any order of a whole fish (haddock/cod/rock/plaice).
At the same time, the food is slightly more affordable than some other fish & chip shops and the range of food is great too.
I have also tried their chicken wrap and it was great. Much larger than I expected.

This is our go to place for fish and chips. We love the battered cod and scampi here. Everything is freshly made and piping hot. Generous portions and a very friendly owner.

The welcome warm and engaging. The Quay is an outstanding restaurant. Outstanding for the quality and taste of its fish and chips - they are exceptionally fresh and completely delicious. Outstanding for the service it gives its customers, who can always expect a lovely welcome. The fish and chips are delicious the best I have ever had, so definitely worth a visit.
Ordered a takeaway for the family. The fish was perfectly cooked. Matzo meal haddock highly recommended
