Called yesterday for lunch, it was really busy! We were seated straight away. We ordered the fish and chips, and a steak burger, both were massive and came within 20 mins of ordering them! Even though they were so busy. The food was as always excellent. The service was very good the waitress came back to ask if everything was ok and after the main brought the dessert menu. This is a lovely pub, and excellent food. We will definitely be back again soon. This is our 5th visit everytime we have had something different from the menu from the steak to lamb or beef for Sunday lunch, it's always been lovely. We highly recommended the food and with it's open fire and your dogs are welcome in part of the pub you can't go wrong.

The Hayhurst is one off our favorite pubs in the whole of the Cheshire West area. It’s difficult to best. Superb selection of beers and ales, excellent food from sandwiches to mains and a great wine list. Add to that incredible service from quietly efficient and very friendly stafff a lively warm ambiance. It’s a must visit if your in the area and well worth the trip if your not!

We invited guests to an evening meal, booked quite late for 8.45. No problems with the food or the service. Our waitress was on cloud 9 after getting her A level results but really attentive. The food was excellent. This place keeps improving.

We discovered this little gem last week and have already been back. Amazing place with friendly attentive staff. The food is excellent, fresh and tasty and complimented by excellent wines and ales. The staff are knowledgeable and made us and our puppy so welcome.

Just had a lovely lunch here to celebrate Mum's birthday. The staff were great and mum said the meal was the best she'd ever had. That's going some bearing in mind we were celebrating her 91st birthday - she's had quite a few meals in that time.

Wonderful food, gorgeous place to spend a few hours with loved ones, plus my husband tells me the ales are fabulous. Even though they were very short staffed due to last minute staff illness, the food was still great, fresh and lots on your plate. The best place in Cheshire for a Sunday roast xx

Visited last night as guests of The Hayhurst as a gesture for a previously disappointing meal. Experienced excellent table service and very good quality food. It was a very busy and hot evening and the staff were working very hard to accommodate everyone. Staff were courteous and helpful - we appreciated the generous gesture and would now definitely return, thank you.

We dropped in Sunday lunch time without a booking and the staff went out of their way to find us somewhere to sit. Nice selection of ales and the food was delicious! Comfy chairs next to crackling fires (we could have stayed all afternoon).

Popped in for a drink, didn't manage to order food as fully booked. But did see a Sunday roast pass me, and boy it looked good. Pub is lovely, in a really big setting. Next time I will book a table and have a Sunday roast

Four adults (and small dog) had Sunday lunch and weren't disappointed. Had our table for over 3hrs as had already explained, it was a family reunion. As it was busy and we we're in no hurry, the waiting staff left it to us to say when ready to order. Really tasty food and took home braised lamb meal leftovers for next day lunch.

Lovely pub and great food. Staff are attentive and friendly. The pub was very busy but the wait for food was not too long and when it arrived was piping hot and well served. In fact we were so impressed we returned the next day to try different dishes. They were equally as good.

Great food, great beers on draft, my go-to pub. Keep up the good work guys. If you want to eat here, book early to avoid disappointment, tables for meals get snapped up quick especially towards weekend. Plenty of parking, good atmosphere, dog friendly, lovely roaring fire when it's cold.

We dined here on 28th September having previously booked a table. The staff were friendly and helpful from the moment we went in. The cask ale was good. The menu choice and the food we had was excellent in quality and quantity. Everything was spotlessly clean from the cutlery to the toilets. We will definitely come again.

Very nice pub, nice atmosphere, fairly quiet but we visited at 4pm on a Monday. Nice friendly helpful staff, service quick. Nice decor and very clean. Had fish and chips and chicken burger and chips. Fish and chips a very small portion of fish, but all meals very nice. Pate starter ok but again a small portion.

Made a special trip out and it was well worth it. We all had Sunday roasts, 2 beef n pork, a beef and I had lamb. We all agreed it was a tasty well cooked meal. The girls then had Eton mess and a lemon tart both exquisite. It was reasonably priced and seemed to be busy but not too full. All the staff were informative, friendly and attentive. We will visit again.

The pub is always so warm and welcoming at any time if the year but yesterday the fires were roaring so even more so. Always a warm welcome from the friendly & attentative staff and thank you for welcoming our 13 week old pup and fussing her. As ever the food was very tasty and there is always plenty of choice as there always is with the real ales, gins etc. See you again soon.

A lovely country pub. Particularly nice in good weather with ample room to sit outside. Great atmosphere inside. Lots of dog friendly tables but also plenty for those who prefer to be away from our four-legged friends. Prices are in keeping with other pubs of this quality in the area, so not cheap but the food is well above average and I think the quality and quantity justify the price. This has become one of our regular pubs for an eating out treat.

Afternoon tea was a lovely mid week treat much appreciated by my 91 year old mum. Good selection of sweet and savoury though scones we're a bit hard. Staff were attentive and kept teapot replenished. Would definitely go again.

This was our first time eating here. It was recommended so we were waiting with big expectations. It didn't fail. Everything from the greeting on walking in, to the wonderful food was amazing. The staff were lovely, they all had smiles and looked like they wanted to be there. We had a great time. Thank you. We will definitely come back.

Updated 01NOV2023 - "Simply excellent as always. When the only suggestion is "how about a blue cheese sauce (as an alternative to the excellent peppercorn sauce) to accompany the excellent rump steaks", you now that your favourite restaurant on the Northeast side of Winsford has cracked it! Repeated happy customers (along with Fox&Hounds to the southeast and The Plough out to the West of Winsford. We are spoilt for choice! This builds upon out previous (very happy) review four years ago in 2019: Several recent visits. Always great food, drink and service. We shall be back again (and again!)

Went for lunch with my family, first time here and wasn't disappointed. Welcomed by staff and shown to our prebooked table. Served by Ben who was very helpful and professionally sociable without being too attentive. Food was exceptionally good with everything on the menu available. Unfortunately I was the designated driver otherwise after our meal I would have happily stayed for an hour or two to sample the quite extensive choice of drinks they stock. We will be going back!

This is a lovely pub and located in a beautiful spot. The food was exceptionally good and the meats were of high quality. The service was slow and it did take a long time to receive the food and this was around 4pm on a Friday, so not really the busy time. Would recommend the burgers. Clean with good atmosphere. Some lovely walks nearby so go build up a thirsty and enjoy.

We were recommended the pub for good food and boy did it deliver! The food was lovely, the fish and chips being especially so. This place totally lived up to expectations and can highly recommend. They also have a good selection of draft ales and the staff were very friendly.

Classic British pub, great hot food in big portions, good ale on tap and friendly and polite staff. Went for a roast dinner whilst up to see some friends and had a lovely wholesome Sunday afternoon in here.. almost just felt like you were eating in a friends home, although without having to offer help with the washing up!! My only issue was not wanting (of struggling) to move after the pudding… I just wanted to nap!! Everything was really tasty and a great place for families and friends alike… Big recommend.. 👏🏻✊🏻👍🏻
