After hearing that The Celtic Arms are now a dog-friendly establishment, we decided to visit for an early Father’s Day meal. We were not disappointed! From the moment we arrived, staff made us feel welcome, even bringing our Pooch a bowl of water and a treat or two! The food was absolutely gorgeous, couldn’t fault it. We all had a lovely time and are already planning our next visit. Thank you everybody!
From walking in as they opened the doors to leaving I couldn't have been happier , food was fantastic and the service was second to none, went there to impress a potential customer couldn't have chosen a better place, thank you all well done.
Our visit was a casual lunch on bank holiday Monday. We enjoyed a great bottle of French wine alongside some of the best food I've had for a while. I opted for the ploughmans with a weighty price tag. May I say it was enourmous and probably worth more. A homemade burger with a brioche bun also arrived and was well received. We unusually had desserts which were homemade and complex and a great finish to our meal. We were welcomed on arrival and generally very well looked after. Top marks. Look forward to next time. I'm eager to go back and a nicechange as being close to home instead of driving to chester.
Regards. Julian.

We regularly dine here but have never had the Sunday lunch, so booked to go yesterday, there were 3 adults & a child, we ordered one starter & asked if the child's meal could come with it which we were told yes. The starter arrived but the child's meal didn't arrive till the main courses were served, we ordered child's chicken strips & chips which were extremely overcooked & hard, we sent them back & had to wait a while for a fresh meal to arrive, one very hungry child, we ordered 3 Sunday lunches which were ok except for the vegetables which were hard & gritty, not pleasant at all to eat, child's meal at £6.99 for 2 chicken strips & a few skinny chips is in my opinion is very overpriced, Sunday lunch not the best either, shame as we do like this place but needs attention to detail in some areas
Beautiful location & high quality dinning experience. Love seafood & the fish of day (hake) was lovely.
Staff highly trained & service was good. Highly recommend for lunch and dinner.
Good food choice, excellent service, we had table for 8 for mother's day at 1pm, I thought the service might not be great as they would be busy but we were very pleasantly surprised. Would definitely recommend it.
Held our wedding here in the Prince of Wales suite a few weeks ago, and all that I can say is the whole experience was perfect. From the moment we met Jane, to the minute we stepped into the venue on the day. The staff were amazing so friendly and helpful and the food for both the wedding breakfast and the buffet was fabulous as always. We have always dined here a lot and it will now be even more special to us. Thanks all x
We visited it tonight for the first time. Mainly hoping it would deliver on ambiance, good food and service as we used to go to The Goshawk until it changed hands and it certainly did. Although it's a 45 minute drive from home it's certainly worth it.
Fabulous food and service . We have now been on many occasions and we have always had lovely food 👍😀 would highly recommend Celtic Arms to everyone 😀
Booked a table over the telephone ( bad line ) and the very nice young lad said do t worry I've not got your number but your table is booked. We turned up and the all the staff always smiling and polite and very welcoming. We ordered starters, mains and pudding and the food was nothing short of fantastic. The Celtic arms, staff and food and atmosphere where exceptional, we couldn't fault a a thing. Outstanding value for money. If where ever in the area again we will be sure to visit again. Thank you to all at the Celtic arms.
This is mine and my husbands favourite place to have a meal together. Good quality food and it's always cooked well.
Very nice place with excellent food. Great service and fair prices.
You will pay here for a gourmet dish that in big cities you will pay surely more than double.
Lot of parking and we had no issue to find a table for lunch even without booking.
We stopped on our way back home from the beach but we will surely come back on our next trip.
We called mid week we hadn’t booked a table and got seated immediately. Friendly and efficient staff. The food was very tasty. Would highly recommend a visit.
Marvelous food! We had gorgeous dishes at a reasonable price. Spotless place with a great ambiance. Great views to the gardens, kind staff.
Family gathering . Very welcoming staff Good service. Not very busy on this occasion so we had the conservatory to ourselves which was great.
Main courses were very good. Sticky toffee pudding was also good so I was told. I had cheesecake which was very disappointing so have taken off a star for that.
Would definitely visit again but next time I'll have the sticky toffee pudding 🙂
Came here on a Saturday evening where I did not make any table booking reservation. I was lucky to be able to get a table here at such short notice. It’s located in a very nice golf club resort. They have very nice selection of gin for those who want to give a try. Quite nice presentation on the food. Though I prefer a bigger steak portion but that’s my preference. Overall good experience!
Came here for a funeral wake. The room hired upstairs was lovely, the staff were friendly and very helpful. The food provided for the buffet was beautiful and fresh.
All in all a fantastic place and hidden gem
Great food, friendly staff, play area for children and outside seating. Love this place.
Family Sunday lunch, food was very good had the pink roast beef it was lovely and tender. Service was excellent and would recommend this place. Will return in the future.
Absolutely amazing food, the service was quick and the food was fresh and tasted amazing. Would highly recommend
Lovely food, service a tad slow but the food was worth it and plus we visited when it was busy with no booking so that's fair enough. Will absolutely visit again.
Busy weekend but squeezed us in for lunch and it was beautiful thank you
Had the Chateaubriand & it was excellent, cooked to perfection. They'd sold out of my first two desert choices so went for the passion fruit crème brûlée which was also delicious. Staff were very attentive & helpful & will definitely be returning.
Thanks to diversion off the A55, we came across this gem.
.

I had my 50th birthday here last week, organised by my partner. The room was amazing, a large C shape with doors leading to the terrace. Relaxed comfortable seating along with several round tables of 10. There is also a dance floor. We chose to have the buffet on it as the gathering was during the day time. The food was classic but very well turned out, thoroughly enjoyed by all. There is a lift so access for all. On the terrace there are wooden stairs leading to the lower ground and garden where there os a wooden play area. Highly recommend 😁
First time there was very clean tidy pub, atmosphere was good staff are very polite and the service was excellent. Had the roast dinner very nice, but could do with more roast potatoes on the dinner over all. Good place to take family or even just your wife/girlfriend for a meal.
Came here for Sunday lunch. They accommodated a group of 13 at short notice and the food was good.
Very high quality food in a classy, relaxed environment
