Such a great place for chocolate lovers! We were just driving by when we saw the huge sign and decided to stop by and see if we could try a new experience.
Disappointed to find out the factory wasn’t actually available to visit or view but the cafe was so quaint and cute. A lot of items from Hotel Chocolat that you wouldn’t find in any other stores, I didn’t realise the range was so good!
Can I also say, THE CHOCOLATE MILKSHAKE? Best milkshake I’ve ever had! Really blew me away how rich the infused cream on top was too. I can wait to be in the area so I can go there again. Great customer Service too, everyone is so nice.
A bit out of the way, but overall a nice place to buy some treats if you're a fan of Hotel Chocolat. Staff are friendly, and the store section is the same as any other Hotel Chocolat, but the cafe is the thing that makes it different.
The cafe is big and you can create your own drink here with a variety of flavours, hot or cold. The whipped cream, which is a free extra, was incredibly thick and the drink we got was rich and well worth the money.
Be sure to have a Hotel Chocolat VIP card, as you get 20% off the bill on cafe purchases.
This place is a welcome little stop off if you're heading either northbound or southbound on the M1 and don't fancy the crowds of people generally round at service stations. The factory shop isn't huge but it is well stocked with all of Hotel Chocolates products and offers seating and hot drinks. It is well staffed and the access is all at ground floor so if you are in a wheelchair or have a push chair, it is no problem. There is also a disabled toilet with baby change facilities. There is plenty of parking available and also outdoor seating. There is also a water bowl left outside for dogs and potentially other creatures which might fancy a drink.
Delicious hot chocolate with a cocoa whip topping. Small choice of cakes/brownies but delicious all the same. Can eat in or takeaway. Seating indoors and outdoors. Large carpark outside. The shop has a good selection of Hotel Chocolat boxes, bars and small bags. Was expecting some factory second reduced chocolate but it's obviously not that kind of factory shop.
Dreamy experience loved the service. Milkshakes reasonably priced around £5 will serve cream on the side or on top if you ask them to. Didn't buy chocolates as not much on offer 🥴 same price as high street!!
Fantastic break from the traffic jam on M1 (just of jc16)! Cafe and shop take up small section of the 400’000+sq ft premises. Staff were great, most items in shop were high street prices. £10 for 2 drinks in the cafe.
I recently visited this place as I drive past thir every monday for work.
Decided to take my break and go visit this place.
It is conveniently located right off the M1 👌
I went inside and was impressed with everything.
It's so nice and chilled inside.
The menu is good.
Reasonably priced.
You can buy their products aswell.
Nice seating areas.
I will be visiting again on Mondays for my breaks 👌😎😂😂
Great place to stop for a cup of delicious chocolate. Also coffees are available. Shop section has a very good choice of Hotel Chocolat products.
Love Hotel Chocolate, so I thought we would pop in for a Chocolate Waffle. I'm surprised this was not on the menu ( the reason for 4 stars). Great, how you can choose the type of chocolate for the drink. There is plenty of parking but no factory tour.
Very easy parking.
Prices only slightly cheaper than the usual shops, but a bigger store to browse. The drinks in the cafe are delicious.
I can understand the company not wanting the shop to become a motorway stop, but providing a SINGLE toilet for all the customers, many with babies and children, is really not enough for people using a cafe 😞
Guess you either love Hotel Chocolat or hate it, depending on your thoughts on the high street domination of decent chocolate over the likes of Thornton's! Personally I think it's no bad thing, and this cafe/shop right off the M1 is definitely worth a visit, if only as a break from all the other service stations. Great drinks, ice creams and cakes plus of course all the chocolate you can eat, including some bargains you don't find in the high street stores! Lovely, big, airy and with outdoor seating and plentiful parking, plus a huge amount of parking for the disabled, this gets my thumbs up. Now if there was only a gym next door to work off all the calories!
Was down south on holiday passed it, so of course I had to stop on the way back. I would say it's worth a visit having the app gets you a discount on the cafe items the factory store a little bit of a disappointment.
Its great you get full selection available but its same price as in all stores, I'd of thought it would have a price reduction as they don't have to pass on the added costs you see in store. There was little to no sale items you like to take home as an added treat just the ugly but good bags that were smashed up Easter egg shells.
Massive car park plenty of spaces for blue badge holders, entrance is wheelchair friendly, has charge points in the car park.
There's outside seating in the morning it's nice you get a nice shade off the factory
NICE QUIET CLEAN PLACE WITH COMFORTABLE SEATING FOR QUITE A FEW PEOPLE TO TAKE A BREAK AND ENJOY VARIOUS GREAT FLAVOURS OF ICE CREAMS AND TOPPINGS. HOT DRINKS ARE UNIQUE TO THIS SITE "HOTEL CHOCOLAT FACTORY SHOP AND CAFE WITH OFF THE M1 MOTORWAY WHEN DRIVING BACK TO LONDON AROUND NORTHAMPTON.
Had a lovely couple of drinks here yesterday in a surprisingly busy cafe and shop. It's not the cheapest place for coffee and cake, but for a treat now and then, it's ideal. I went for a simple cappuccino whilst my wife had apple pie hot chocolate. Both were in fairly small mugs, and the apple pie chocolate and cream was simply overflowing and, in fact, messy and difficult to drink. A straw is really required here. It was dripping all over the small tray it was served on. We then moved to the adjacent shop to purchase some chocolate. Again, it's not cheap, but it is exquisite. We spent a fair bit on just a couple of items. We really enjoyed our first visit to Hotel Chocolat and are planning our next visit sometime in the future.
Lots of bargains and lovely staff. Even though I'm diabetic my blood sugar doesn't alter when I have my ration of one chocolate a day. I really believe it when it says less sugar. We had a lovely time here
First experience at this venue. Ample parking store looks modern and chic. Queue was out the door but moved relatively quickly. Big bold posters and the story behind the brand is a nice touch albeit to convince to spend more of your hard earned cash. Pricing displayed clearly and I love the fact that dairy free options doesn't come with an added premium. Seating was good although some of tables were still decorated in the previous customers chocolate overspill! Friendly staff and the 20% VIP ME card was honoured immediately upon signing up in the usual fashion. Product was as described and definitely hit the chocolate craving. My only criticism is it was luke warm rather than hot Bring your credit card and you'll easily hit 3 figures from the extensive range of merchandise tempting and drawing you in. Good all round experience will be flashing my VIP card next time I visit. Recommended for any passionate chocolate addict.
Loved taking my dad and my dog here. The best customer service and we all had a great time. I think it's wonderful that the staff have dog treats for our fur babies. Emily and I had a discussion about pupachinos and pup cakes because there is a big market to tap into. Please hotel Chocolat think of doing this in the future. My dog will test it out for you as he loves a pupachino.
