I went with a few friends during my trip to Northampton to try the Metre Defeater challenge - you have 45 minutes to eat a metre long pizza by yourself and you will get it for free if you win. They cost around £30. The pizza was tasty and you get water and dips for free with the challenge. If you're with a group of people and aren't interested in the challenge, the metre pizza is a good way to save money here. The garlic and herb sauce is home made and tastes great. Staff here are really relaxed, genuine, and friendly, and despite the sheer size of the food, it was quick to be served. I didn't win the challenge, although there is always next time. It was still worth it to stuff my face with great pizza for £30 and still have food left over to share with my friends. There's a variety of arcade games here to play too, so you could easily spend an afternoon here and not get bored or hungry. This place is highly recommended!

Nice place, pizzas are lovely and drinks are good. The nostalgia was strong, and great! We all enjoyed our visit. The issues were that the games were pretty expensive, some famous mulitplayer games could not be played as such (no signs explaining this) and there were some oddities with payments (sometimes payment would be taken and credit not applied). However, this was redeemed by comfy sofas and a PS2, so I hope they do more of this in the future!

We travelled down from manchester to Try the metre defeator pizza challenge, the staff couldn't have been more friendly and accommodating, pizza was the biggest thing I have seen and none of the 4 of us came anywhere close to finishing within the time allowed. A good choice of games to play and a cheeky cocktail afterwards is a unique twist and makes for a good night out- well worth a visit -

Love the cocktails, love the pizza, love the music. Bar staff are great too, every night out me and my friends will have atleast some drink and pizza here.

14th July 2022 For my wife's birthday we went to Playhouse in Northampton by request by Adam A.K.A Beard Meets food, we ordered The Metre long Pepperoni Pizza with 4 lots of Garlic Doughbites and 4 pints of Coke, it came to £54 which we thought was very reasonable, we watched in the background as the chef prepared our mammoth, METRE LONG PIZZA 🍕 She advised us it would take 10 minutes to prepare, so we told her not to rush to allow our son to play on the retro arcades, his eyes lit up when he seen the likes of PACMAN, TETRIS, AND STREET FIGHTER The food came over and we were in shock horror at the size of the pizza which took up the majority of the 4 seater table, we all took a slice each and we can hands down say it was the best pizza we have tried in a long time, being a food reviewer, I have eaten many pizzas in my time. It was a thin crust New York style sized slice with Tomato Puree, Pepperoni and cheese and we demolished the whole pizza between us within 20 minutes . We next had to eat the garlic doughballs which were dripping in garlic butter, I Went for the buffalo sauce whilst my family all chose the garlic butter Tonight we came in to test the waters, we spoke to the staff who were all a friendly bunch of people, we then had a walk round before eating, all the arcade machines were very clean and the restaurant itself was very well decorated , My son said it put him in mind of the arcades which featured in the show Stranger Things. Good selection of arcade games - great to see something different in town, and an added bonus (for ease, not the bank balance) that everything works via contactless card payment! Pizza looks great. Drinks selection is okay depending on what you like (lots of cocktails, but they all skew very sweet) and a bit pricey for what it is, even in the centre.

Great drinks, great games! I’ve been here a few times as part of a fun night out and had a wonderful time. You can play golf, basketball, air hockey etc or head upstairs and take part in the remote control car racing. All come at an additional charge but it’s worth it. There are some great frozen slush cocktails too. Really recommend this place.
