Lovely afternoon spent with sister and niece who were enjoying the afternoon tea. The staff couldn't do enough for us and this included putting together a low calorie meal, individually made for me as my initial choice had sold out. I had the tastiest meal that consisted of a lovely fresh salad to include Mediterranean vegetable, advocados and slices of fresh beef. All for under £9.00. All staff were efficient, helpful and friendly. A 5 star service, a 5 star meal in a 5 star setting.
We had booked as a party of 5 but arrived with 1 extra adult + 2 children. We were impressed that this didn’t phase the staff at all,nothing was too much trouble. Our waitress immediately told the chef and then set about making a special table for the children. They were very happy to have their own table and were even allowed a teapot cups and saucers of their own!
The afternoon tea was delicious with a good choice for everyone including 1 vegetarian. There was more than enough for everyone including limitless tea and coffee.
The photos on the website really don’t do The Orangery justice, it is a beautiful room with a relaxing atmosphere.

Christmas gathering December 2017, afternoon tea for 8 guests in the Beautiful Billiard Room. Highly recommended, the staff member Ellie, couldn’t have been more accommodating. Ellie didn’t rush us out, even though the cafe area was closed, fantastic service, took our coats on arrival, offered us music requests, suggested pink gin cocktails, which we highly recommend.
Upon booking we requested sandwich fillings for our fussy eaters, nothing was too much trouble. It’s a beautiful setting. We will all be making a return.
Only one minor comment, could you put a mirror into the washroom facilities in the Billiard room. Thank you and see you soon. ������

We were seated quickly by friendly staff and given one menu to share, despite there being a large basket of menus.
Our order was taken promptly, and the food came out surprisingly quickly.
My Croque Madame was delicious, and my girlfriend was thrilled with her cheese and tomato sandwich.
When the drinks eventually turned up, after I’d finished my meal, the coffee was one of the best I’ve had in a long time.
We had planned on ordering some pancakes for desert, but all staff appeared to have vanished.
I ended up going to for a wander to find someone as we had been waiting 15 minutes.
Once the pancakes arrived, they again, were perfectly cooked and we are so glad we ordered.
2nd round of drinks was just as slow. The pancakes were finished by the time the coffee and coke arrived.
Lovely venue with great view onto the fields.
I would ask that they fix the door coming into winter, it takes a long time to close and gets quite chilly inside when people keep coming in and out.
A little more attention to detail when cleaning the glass wouldn’t go amiss either.
That said, beautiful food and wonderful setting, I would definitely recommend.
The Orangery is a restaurant/café within Delapre Abbey grounds. If you are walking from the car park, then just go around to the right of the main buildings. We had a southern fried chicken burger which was delicious. Would highly recommend a meal or just coffee and a cake. They also do cream tea, which I have not had but am told is good. You may need to book this in advance. This restaurant is popular and always busy. We were here mid week at around 11:30 and all the tables were full. There is free parking at Delapre Abbey, and some nice walks and a walled garden, if you want to work up an appetite or burn off the calories. Would definitely recommend the Orangery.
Excellent afternoon tea yesterday. The waiting staff, especially the front of house manager, were excellent. Both friendly and efficient. The selection of sandwiches, cakes and pastries was lovely - special shout out for the ganache and Jack Daniels mini tart. The scones were warm and fluffy - just perfect. Th Orangery have really upped their game since our visit in February/March. Apparently they're going to make seasonal changes to the afternoon tea offering so we will definitely visit again in Autumn/Winter.
Breath taking view of the grounds from the cafe. It was a Sunday afternoon and it was fairly crowded. Did not have any problem with seating. Very baby and mummy friendly. Food is really very tasty. Portions are very good. Tasted very fresh. Overall the ambience is cosy. There are disable access bathrooms too. You can take a walk around the grounds after.
After a terrible visit in February/March we were given a complimentary afternoon tea. The service was first class. The front of house manager and waiting staff were friendly and efficient and the food was top notch. Will definitely be back for another visit.,
I never knew it was dog friendly until today, I was greeted at the door and both the dog and I were made very welcome, great staff today

Excellent service from the waitress who explained the service. Food was fresh, tasty and well presented. Choice of as many teas or coffee as you wished.
Although a beautiful building and architecture the room lacked atmosphere and warmth.
Not enough to spoil anything and would still recommend. Just my small observation.
Nice afternoon tea including salmon,egg and ham bread was also nice quite a few cakes and lovely scones with jam and real cream unlimited tea and filtered coffee well worth the money in my opinion.
Very nice food, and the restaurant had a good atmosphere. Had to wait 15mins for a table (fine), and order was taken quickly with friendly service. Less good was the 45+min wait for our food to come out. However when it did come out it was very enjoyable.
Wonderful afternoon tea experience, the food was absolutely delicious and the service was first class. Lewis was so friendly, attentive and knowledgeable with all the speciality teas - we were thoroughly spoilt and will be returning on a regular basis - thank you to all who made our afternoon so special xx

We booked afternoon tea and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We were seated in a very grand room set out for dinning with immaculately cleaned tables, beautifully set with views looking out across the Abbey grounds. The food was presented stylishly and was a feast for the eyes as well as the stomach. Overall the facilities are well thought out with good access for wheels of any kind. The toilets although downstairs, do have a lift if needed, are well maintained and unisex. A very pleasant afternoon was had and we look forward to going again, soon I hope.

Popped in after a long walk with a friend. Love this place so nice to just sit and look at the grounds. Staff are very friendly and you don't feel as though you are being rushed, would highly recommend.
Can't believe I haven't been here before! What an absolute gem. Beautiful little place with beautiful grounds to have a wander. HUGE TREES.
Staff were very friendly, food was quick, hot, fresh and good quality. It was great to order food for a child and see that the quality was also really high - not the cheapest that can be found and sold for a huge profit (which it seems many other places get away with).
Wonderful lunch definitely plan on returning.
We had an amazing afternoon tea for our colleagues retirement party today. The staff bent over backwards for us. The selection of afternoon tea was simply delicoius. 5 stars & I for one will certainly book again.
