Great space with heaps of tables outside and cosy inside. Lots of good options available on tap. If the suns shining make sure you get a good spot in the garden and listen to the birds 🕊️

Charming pub with excellent food. What a gem of a pub is the Royal Oak. They have a good one way system in place to keep you safe and a book to record visitors for track and trace. The bar area is well laid out with a good selection of beers and sprits and looks like it have been recently been refurbished keeping the charm and features from the original building. The dinning room also looks like it has recently been refurbished. Once again very in keeping with the original building but very stylish with a modern theme. The menu is short but plentiful - something for everyone. We ordered and our food arrived swiftly. The presentation was spot on and tasted even better than it looked. Our mains also looks good on the plate and were super tasty and perfectly cooked. We didn't have a dessert as we were full! This pub is a real gem of a find and we will definitely be back at some point depending on the covid situation.

Just popped in for a quick pint on the way back from exploring the delights of Castle Ashby. Fabulous pint of Tring beer, and was pleasantly surprised that the choice of ales included 2 under 4%; which is rare and great for the pop in pint crowd, or sessioners 👌🏼 We didn't eat but had a look at the week and weekend menus that looked varied and extremely tasty. The reccomendation from a local was the pie using the local cheese! We will be back soon to try the food for sure! We were made to feel incredibly welcome by the friendly and helpful staff! A certain reccomendation. **Watch out for the food review soon! **

Great village pub. The food was really nice and decent portion. There were so much meat in the lamb dish, the lamb was slow cooked so very tender and juicy. Children enjoyed their food, too. They have a good selection of the beers and a lot of tables in the outdoor area with heaters.

Visited The Royal Oak for a quick lunch. I had the "Stuff in the Oven" which was like a hotpot. Tender meat, delicious red wine gravy and vegetables (option) but you can have bread instead. Pleasant pub, will visit again!

Off the beaten track. Well worth a visit. Good food and beer. Go steady into and out of the car park, pot hole and uneven kerb.

Very limited vegan food, I believe two options on the menu. The main food was fine, very nice.

Nice pub and friendly staff. Menu mainly battered food or pie, would be good to have a lighter or healthier option.

It was a really good meal best fish and chip's I've had in decades! The fish was succulent and the batter was crunchy and there was no sign of oil!Was shocked at the £78 bill but things have gone up since last time i was out so was just shocked 😲 but to be honest because of how much i enjoyed the food I'd got back!

Great place for an evening meal and to catch up with friends. And perhaps more importantly to support our local hostelry.

We had a delicious lunch today in the lovely outdoor garden. It's a lovely pub, very traditional with lots of flowers in baskets and planters. The outdoor space is spacious and well thought out. The food was excellent, chicken pie with lovely seasonal vegetables with butter. Service was really good from a polite and welcoming young man. We were able to take our dog too. Much recommended. We will definitely be back!

Wanted to have a pub roast but unfortunately due to mum being very poorly we were unable to go out and enjoy the luxury of being waited on. So I had a brainwave. Most weekends through the early part of last year we had a takeaway roast from here and it was outstanding. So, I popped in here on the way home from work one evening the other week and asked if they would be kind enough to do me two roast dinner's as a takeaway.....and the happily obliged and I arranged a time to call in and collect. On the Sunday it turned out to be a rather warm day so I after paying I advised I would wait outside as I had the dog in the car and would they yell when ready and I would come back in. The lovely girl behind the bar Rd me to stay with the dog and she would bring them out to me. After a short wait she brought them out and they were red hot so I knew had been freshly prepared and not just sitting on the side waiting collection. When I got them the short drive home they were still piping hot. To save on the washing up we are from the trays, THE MEAT WAS TO DIE FOR! so tender and very tasty, as was all the food and plentiful. So thanks to the staff for a tasty meal and for helping me with my request of a takeaway will certainly be back
