Took my family today for lunch to celebrate my birthday. The service was 1st class even though it was busy. The food was delicious, four of us had the carvery and two had meals off of the menu. My family had got me a birthday cake and without being asked Kath supplied us with plates and serviettes. The waiting staff were excellent and special thank you to a lady named Kath for going that extra mile.

Myself and my hubby go to Poppyfields every week. We always have gorgeous food and exceptional service. Today we took 5 other guests and we weren’t let down. Gorgeous food and great service. The chap behind the bar ( forgot to take his name) was so lovely and happy considering he was on his own serving. Had a smashing time. Below we have to recommend dishes, well considering we’ve tries them all previously I recommend all!!

Really nice carvery with lots of yummy vegetable options. There is usually 3 or 4 roasts to choose from if you eat meat, and a couple of vegetarian pies for those who don’t… it’s always very busy on a Sunday. They are also on the ‘Too Good to Go’ app which I like. The deserts look fab but rarely do we actually have room for one!

We haven't visited this venue in over 2 years so we decided to pre-book for Christmas day. Three of us arrived for our 13:30 allocated time. The car park was almost full and there was already a queue back to the door. We eventually got seated at a table, after a short delay because they lost our booking. The table had a different family Christmas card on the table and so they swapped us to another table. A couple of small minor mishaps to start with. I decided to order drinks from the bar because the waitress staff looked really busy. Our starters arrived after about 20 minutes and were all as pre-ordered. There was about 15 minutes queue for the carvery but it was worth the wait. All the food was fresh, hot and plentiful. We all agreed it was one of the best, if not the best carvery we have ever had. Waiting for desserts was the main problem. I think all the tables finished their mains at a similar time. So many people were chasing their desserts, some 4 and 5 times. We chased ours 3 times. After about 40 minutes they eventually arrived. However, the Christmas puddings were luke warm and the cheese with the biscuits was dry and not that fresh. The self service coffee and mince pies had run out. I asked for them to be refreshed and after 20 minutes of waiting I gave up. I cannot fault the staff. They worked tirelessly to please everyone. After all it was Christmas day. If it wasn't for the few problems it would have been a 5 star review.

We came here for breakfast the other day. We went for the breakfast buffet with unlimited tea and coffee, Such good value for money, they had plenty of everything. We had to wait for the toast but Katy was very helpful and bought it straight over to our table. Very friendly, polite staff.

We had been to Poppy field before, at a busier time but it was good to know that kitchen is open until 9pm. Food was served quickly and was very good. Had to resist temptation for dessert though!! Staff very helpful as well. Happy to try other Farmhouse Inns.

Came in to have a roast carvery and was greeted by one of the assistant managers. Ordered from the app and the service was super quick. Cath the other assistant manager brought over our drinks and took the time to speak to us as she always does. Very warm welcoming lady that certainly knows her job inside out. I had a slight issue with one of the youngsters on the carvery but cath sorted it out very quickly without any fuss. She is a credit to the business.

Nobody to take orders at table had to queue up at bar . The food was lovely. But I'm a bit disappointed to find out when I asked a man at carvery for a gluten-free Yorkshire pudding. Very abruptly sad no don't do them . Surely gluten-free is standard in these day .
